I was in Novato, which I rarely am, & went out of my way to go to this gas station. I remembered it being the cheapest gas around! Well not anymore! It was over 100° when I went there so I wasn't looking to spend tons of time. I swear to GOD it took 20 minutes to fill up my car & I have a small tank. I came there tonight and when I left, I got all the way back to Oakland and realized that my keys and my gas cap were there on top of the gas pump so I called the man that's working tonight. It's Monday, 14 July. He was the sweetest man he remembered my dogs name and everything he got my keys in my gas cap and he said that the next hands go to will be mine, he's gonna save them for me till tomorrow and he was the nicest, polite, young man I've ever come across I would recommend this Gas Station to anybody the friendliness and the Customer service is awesome. read more

Busy gas station, cheap prices, clunky equipment. Yes the prices are the cheapest around, but honestly, I don't think it was worth the hassle. Two pumps were out on the left side, which added to the confusion this busy Saturday morning. Further causing delays was the fact that my pump did not work properly! It simply would not respond and I had to go get the cashier to help. It could not properly process credit cards, so I finally just had to pay with cash. It finally dispense the gasoline. So my mission on getting the cheapest gas prices was successful, but I had to pay a price in aggravation. On the other hand, I did get the cheapest price around. read more

The male attendant with the ponytail had a horrible attitude and should be let go. I worked in customer service for years, and would not dream of talking to customers the way I was talked to. This station loses business by closing up early. If you show up after 10pm, you're taking your chances on whether the pumps will be taped off and closed already. It might depend on who is working, not sure. The Shell across the street also closes early, so the nearest open stations will be across the freeway (those are 24hr ones). read more

Yes sometimes this station has lower prices than other.It wasn't that crowded today. I usually use Chevron because the gas lasts longer in my tank. But when I go here there is usually a fuel ambassador there to wave people to the next pump. That's a great feature to this station. Well...ummmm today the fuel ambassador must have been asleep standing up because, he didn't do jack just standing there for what? I guess to watch the cars line up at the pumps. Then he walked around all of the cars swinging his little water bottle. They need to retrain this curly haired boy. But what do you expect out of safeway gas stations. I am sure I will continue to go there to purchase gas. Don't expect the fuel ambassadors to let you know that there is a pump open, you have to watch your own back. read more

This is my go-to gas station since it's cheaper than other gas stations plus you get 3 cents off per gallon if you're a Safeway member...and who isn't?? Having an attendant there is very helpful, especially since it's hard to see if there are openings in the lane your waiting for. However, some attendants are plain-ol' USELESS. As someone who has used the Safeway Gas Station in Vallejo, this station is damn near perfect. There's plenty of pumps. People are not rude. The lines move fast. People do not cut. The gas is cheap and even cheaper with your Safeway card. There's a quick convenience store, which I've yet to step in. The lines can be long, but like I said, they move fast. HUGE HUGE HUGE. I was afraid to go to the bathroom in here because I thought I would get lost from the person I was with. You can't go wrong with lounge seating in addition to the coffee spot. And free wi-fi... hello!!! Love it! Nut bar looks cute and want to come back for the jamba juice. One problem PARKING BLOWS!!! very narrow lanes in between rows of cars and narrow spots. Yes it can be VERY busy because of the savings! When you can save up to a buck off of your gas per gallon then yes the lines grow. My suggestion is to hit the station earliest in the day. Seems to be the best time to get gas with the least trouble with traffic. I am not sure if they had planned for the amount of cars they would get since the design of the pull up lanes when it is busy is ridiculous, but this is why I suggest early morning. The store that is attached is great for snacks and sodas. You get the grocery store prices which is nice for a quick pit stop. Today I put 16 gallons of gas into my vanand saved .50 cents a gallon. That totally makes it worth it when I get to pocket the $8 savings! I got the extra savings from checking my safeway card. They gave me .20 cents per instead of .10 cents so that was awesome! read more

Usually the best gasoline price in northern Marin. However, everyone knows that... so the lines can be long, especially on Fridays or before holidays. Also their pumps take more than two minutes to begin pumping gas because the computer is slow. Occasionally you will receive a $.10 or greater discount per gallon (it is normally $.03/gal for Safeway card members) if you have purchased more than $50.00 of groceries in one shopping trip prior to filling-up. read more

Price is great. Lines are not. That's totally due to the awfully slow pumps. They are the worst pumps I have every used. The problem seems to be the computer control. It takes ages to enter the information as there is huge delays for each piece of information you enter. The actual pumping of the gas is OK. It's getting to that point that takes forever. And don't try to anticipate the next step and type ahead! This is something Safeway could easily fix. read more

I have yet to have a good experience at this Safeway. If you want to get gas you have to wait 10 minutes. If you want to park it's always a long walk. If you walk down the wrong aisle to your car and try to turn around at the end of the section the wheels lock on your cart. I get sandwiches made at the deli. They always take forever and the people can be unpleasant. They also tell you you can't do the meal deal until after 5pm. Which isn't stated anywhere. I'm not a fan!!! read more

Wow, no words for how f'd up this gas station is at the Nave Dr Safeway. I pulled up to their gas lines tonight around 7pm. I was in the second to left line, and I had to pull forward, slightly to the right of the driver in front of me, to get out of the way of the entrance road behind me. The line to my right, for cars with their gas caps on the right, was 2 car widths away to my right. A few minutes later, I look up and an attendant at the front of the line is waving his hands to me to move forward. I move forward a bit, and then signaled to the car to my left, that there is a space up front. She waved her hand at me. So I pull forward, to the front of the line, in front of a large camper. I pulled forward and then back in to clear his vehicle. Next thing I know, the attendant that signaled for me to move forward, is standing at my window, complaining to me that I was supposed to go into the right lane. When I told him my gas cap was on the left and I was in the left lane, he argued with me and told me that I was waiting in the right lane! That line was two car widths away from where my car was. He is an incompetent liar. I voiced a few curse words at him, then pulled all the way around to the back of the line again. He didn't stop then. He yelled at me, with his broken balls of disrespect, "Ya, now you are in the right lane!" I'm lucky he wasn't standing in front of me when he said that. I might have driven my car right into his mouth. Safeway must have video cameras in the gasoline area. The managers can watch his bullshit for themselves!! read more

Best gas prices in Novato. Pumps are slow as hell to push all the buttons and get them going.

First, this station is a traffic hazard. Cars are often backed up waiting for gas and block customers trying to get in and out of Safeway main entrance. Edited 3/21/2015 by me, again. Fuel prices at the pumps are NOW as cheap as gas prices anywhere around. I think Safeway read my critical prior review, but fair is fair! They lowered their gas prices here and now they earned my praise. Also, I came in last week and checked out their meat department prices and guess what!? This store was offering a pork shoulder for... are you ready for THIS? At $1.79 per pound, this store embarrassed all their competition as far north as those little towns 100+ miles away. Let's see how long they offer better grocery and fuel prices. I've attached a screen shot of Gas Buddy's local prices as of today so you can see for yourself just how competitive Safeway has become.
