Normally I feel guilty about making a bad review. Today after reading all the other one star reviews and seeing how terrible the people who work there have treated others,, I have zero guilt about telling people the staff are terrible people. Today my son had a small accident at their gas station. The woman, Dela, who claims to be the manager, told me son, she knew what to do and took pictures of his license and insurance card before allowing him to call his parents. She told him, "this happens all the time," and sent him on his way. Who tells a kid what to do and doesn't allow him to call someone who's looking out for their best interest. My son left there thinking he did the right thing, without taking pictures or calling me because that's what she told him to do. (Now he should have been smarter, but he was overwhelmed.) People who manipulate kids when they're scared and upset are awful. I expect better in our small community. read more

This is for the carwash feature. I am enamoured by the fully automated features of the machine. After making your selection of what level wash you want (basic, deluxe or ultra wash), you pay then drive in until you are instructed to stop. You sit in one place while the unit moves around you, applying whatever chemicals and solvents are required to clean your car. It's completely touchless, no blue rag, octopus arms wacking the hell out of your car. It even blowdrys for you, you do not have to rock your car back and forth trying to catch the blowers. No, your car won't be completely spotless or dry when you're through, but you'll get the majority of dust off and it will be good enough in the moment. Maybe it's not even worth writing this review considering the other bad reviews already posted but I feel compelled to anyway. This is a horrible gas station. Similar to another reviewer, I got a flat tire and needed air asap. I asked the two young men inside if I could get some change for the air machine but was told nope, no change available. So I said ok, is there any way for me to get air then? They said, very rudely, only if you buy gas. I asked if there was a way I could pay them for air since I didn't need gas and, again, nope. They very clearly couldn't care less. The people that work here have no sympathy, compassion, or common sense. What a joke. This place deserves zero stars. read more

This gas station has a reputation of skimmers being placed on the pumps. I believe it. Ever since I stopped going here I have so far no longer had my credit cards used in fraud. They also I believe are taking advantage of the rising gas prices and inflation. They are charging .40 cents more per gallon than the shell across the street. If you compare their prices against almost any other Novato station during the last week they are .50 or more cents higher. I don't understand why people keep going here. Taking advantage of the community with artificially high prices and failing to keep pumps secure is not good business practice. read more

Avoid this place, ever seen that Jack Nicholson movie with the waitresses robotic replies to his simple requests? Well, stranded and needing to air up my motorcycles flat rear tire, she pretty much rejected to provide any assistance in starting up the air pump outside. Customer only. I could not get any quarters for the machine, get the disabled bike to a gas pump, so I was forced to buy a 3$ candy bar. Not so much the money, just the attitude. So Im a bus driver for Marin Transit and usually they let me use the bathroom here since i drive all day, but tonight this lady said no, and her excuse was it closes at 10pm. Mind you i asked for the bathroom key at 9:50 which when i always feul my bus before i finish my shift. She even told me to talk to her manager about it and claims that she is always here at night which is a lie, since i do this route 6 days a week. Gas price is competitive but beware of all the men standing alongside Redwood Avenue in pairs or small groups. They may be looking for day labor jobs but if I weren't with a group, I'd be extremely suspicious. At least they had clean clothes and were groomed. I guess tourist usually don't travel through Novato. Fill up gas well before Novato if u don't want them within 50 ft of your car while u fill up gas. Perhaps they should carry signs indicating they r looking for work. read more

You get to use your Safeway Club Card for up to .20 cents off and that is awesome with how high gas prices are! Check the snack deals, sometimes they are pretty good. Usually the gas is a few cents a gallon cheaper then across the street at Shell. Getting in and out of the gas station can be tricky thanks to other drivers with no patience. Rating a gas station? I know, it doesn't fit my normal Modus Operandi for yelp reviews; however, I had to do it. I don't ask for much in a gas station - quality of gas (which maybe I foolishly believe the marketing) which Chevron is supposed to have, a clean(ish) bathroom and a place to grab a cold beverage and maybe some kind of salty and/or sweet snack. Above all though - IT NEEDS TO QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY DELIVER GAS FROM THE PUMP TO MY TANK. This Chevron fails miserably on this point. I drive a MINI - it has a small gas tank, a smidge over 10 gallons. When I fill up across the street (at another national, well recognized brand) - the time I wait seems inconsequential, put the nozzle in the tank and pull your phone out - maybe scroll through your FB or insta feed and CLICK, your done. On the flip side, this afternoon I plug the nozzle in and the numbers seem to spin in S - L - O - W motion. I timed it an it took over 6 minutes. Now I know in the big scheme of things 6 or so minutes is not a huge amount of time; but, in gas station time - it seemed like an eternity. Would it kill you to change the water for the squeegees? It's disgusting, it's like washing your car with sewage. Every other chevron that I have been to has nice clean soapy water available to the customer for their window washing. Fix the problem and I'll change my review. read more

Not only has this station been accused of skimming gas, but they fail in maintaining the most basic standards of cleanliness. Workers refuse to let people in the restrooms because they don't feel like cleaning them, and are either rude or lazy when dealing with customers. Gas stations already have a negative stigma, but this place requires you to lower your standards even further so that it can fit the definition of a basic functioning gas station. If you can, avoid it and carry on to another station or just cross the street to shell; at least there you can use a bathroom. read more

It's great they still have a connection with Safeway's card as I love the gas per mile reduction I receive from time to time. It's also an easy location and right on my path to work. The grounds are kept tidy and I don't have to worry about pumps being broken ( like they can be across the street at Shell). The remodel is nice with a clean corner store and car wash. It can be more expensive by a few cents but the convenience sometimes makes it worth the visit. read more

Of all the greedy and shameless ripoffs ever! This Chevron is claiming that Prop 56 has already gone into effect, which it doesn't until April 1st. Yes, the owner is charging an extra $2 per pack of cigarettes based on misleading their consumers into believing it is the tax that was passed. Therefore pocketing that extra, shady, profit. Illegal? No receipt again. This gas station cannot seem to keep the machine full of receipt paper. Upon going inside for a receipt the clerk was rude and could not even say thank you after purchasing $55 of gasoline. The receipt was for a $60 transaction. After going inside for a proper receipt, the attendant was in denial of making a mistake and still couldn't say sorry and thank you for your business. read more

I've now had two bad experiences here. I stopped to get gas and I like using my Safeway discount so try to buy at Chevron. I specifically stopped here also because I wanted a car wash. I paid for it outside and the receipt came out of the pump but tore off the car wash number. I went inside to ask what to do. The two people at the counter became irritated and finally were able to give me the car wash code after a lot of problems. When I went to pull in to the car wash opening, there were day laborers blocking the drive and also blocking the car detailing area and they wouldn't move until I got out of the car and asked. I punched in my code and the green light came on and a voice said the car wash was ready for use. I pulled in, did what was instructed and nothing ever happened. No water, no action. I went back inside and the man at the counter said, "So?" I said "why isn't it working?" He said he didn't know and ignored me. I'm a professional in the community, not a hostile person trying to make trouble, but I was frustrated. I asked for my money back and he literally threw it in the counter. I remember a while back going here and two of the pumps didn't work and the one I used was unable to give the Safeway discount. This place seems to have very little respect for customers and faulty equipment. Perhaps it was just the staff tha day, but the car wash was not working, with no explanation. Too bad! read more
