Came here the other day and there was a woman poking through the freezer with her wagon angled outward, I'm pushing my stroller this way when the a*hole butcher I wrote about in my last review (his name is Glenn), rolls his meat cart thing literally right on the other side of the aisle blocking me and my baby from getting through. I sorta stood there and waited a sec, hoping the lady would finish whatever she was doing, but then another customer pushed past me and squeezed through the opening, and I figured one of them would move at that point..nope. So finally I'm like "Excuse me!", the woman looks up at me, glances at the butcher, then her cart, makes a face and goes back to what she was doing. I said "Excuse me!!!", again, and Glenn looks at me with all the annoyance in the world, drags his cart slightly out of the way, just enough room for me though, and no sh*t, he grunts and rolls his eyes like I'm the rude one and should know to just walk around an entire aisle instead of trying to pass through. I sarcastically yelled an apology for inconveniencing his royal Highness and kept going. Lines of course were long as a never ending poo, so we finally braved self-checkout and actually got through it with no problems. I've been here many times, and every time I go I look for Kale..... And they don't have it! Even though there's a tag for it /: Maybe I'm just unlucky, and they don't have it out when I'm there. I don't shop here too often because I like to buy from the Farmer's Market. I also buy things I eat a lot of like lettuce from Costco because it's cheaper. I do like how the interior of Safeway looks. It always looks clean. The workers are nice. I haven't encountered a disgruntled worker. I would suggest Safeway if it's close for you OR it has a better deal than other grocery stores. If you can schedule grocery days on Wednesday, Windward Mall across the street has a Farmer's Market. I know Kaneohe District Park also have a Farmer's Market in the morning on Tuesdays & Thursdays (I'm not 100% sure on Tuesdays). read more

This is not one of the better safe ways on island. They are often out of stock of items or have items expiring soon/expired already sometimes. I love the sandwiches at safeway bc they have great ingredients but there are few employees who can make a good sandwich in a decent amount of time. Notice how there's no longer a sign that says 3 minutes or under or its free? Expect to come into this safeway for a minimum of 20 minutes, even if you're getting just a few things. The lines are almost always long because they are understaffed with 2-3 cashiers and no self checkout. There are a few employees here who are super nice, helpful and show great Aloha spirit! read more

This is my go to spot to by balloons...I didn't realize how expensive they are now. They have a pretty good size floral department and all workers are very friendly and helpful. They have a huge variety of balloons on hand and have majority of the different themes you are looking for. You can also call in your balloon bouqet order too. read more

Let me start by saying that I love shopping at Safeway, they always have good produce and I love that they have an olive bar, it just really bothers me that the lines to check out get so long and they don't bring in more cashiers. I was standing in a line at least 8 carts deep last week and a guy was walking around arranging the displays in the front and doing other odd jobs and I was disgusted! If he couldn't check people out he should go releave someone else who can. Come on people. read more

This Safeway location has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Betty is the only employee there who is helpful. If you have plans to get a sandwich at the deli, you might want to consider a second option. I can't even count on two hands how many times I went there to get a sandwich only to end up at Subway. Yesterday was a perfect example. I was there after lunch and wanted to order a sandwich on the whole grain bread. When the woman behind the counter came up to assist me, she said they were out of whole grain. When I asked for wheat, she said the exact same thing, In both instances, she didn't even look. There's a bakery 10 feet away, don't tell me you don't have bread. It was very obvious she had no desire or intention to be helpful whatsoever. I have had bad experiences with this exact employee before so the moment I saw her walk up, I knew I wasn't going to get what I came for. The reason for the one star rating is aimple. While waiting in line to checkout the cashier who's name I'll hold off on but starts with a S, proceeds to ring up customers while fully engaged in a gossip conversation with a fellow worker standing behind her. Never really acknowledging that customer is there other than to tell them their total. When I can up to the register this continued but she was so engaged in talking to her Co worker she couldn't even tell me my total. I knew more about Christian and his "ugly" girlfriend (yes that is what the topic was) before she ever knew that she was finished ringing my items up and I was waiting to pay. Talking to Co workers while ignoring the customers seems to be becoming much more common here now days. read more

Store is clean and the floral section is nice, however the customer service needs work. The cashiers are unfriendly and zombie like. The man in the deli routinely messes up my orders and is slow and rude. Have also found expired items on the shelves in the coolers. read more

Sorry to say I always order a sandwich here and it seems to be the same lady always making them and I can't get a name because she doesn't wear a name plate. She take forever just to make a sandwich making a lot of people wait and a few people left while waiting and she tends to make a long conversations as well management really need to check that out read more

I love this Safeway. It's the closest to my house, all of the cashiers are friendly, and it's clean. What more can you ask for? The produce is always great too, I hate going into a produce section and seeing old fruits and vegetables. Gross.. so double thumbs up to this Safeway for always having a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. You'd be surprised at some of the selections I've seen at other supermarkets. Their flower and balloon department is amazing also, very friendly staff and beautiful displays! Always stop here if I need a quick flower arrangement for a get together at home. read more

This place often has long lines and really slow check-out clerks. Also the general manager was a complete unprofessional and rude person to me when I got to the check out (after waiting half an hour on the eve of thanksgiving) and i asked him why he didnt have more people working tonight. They also put expired things out for sale, which really grinds my gears. read more

This is the closest grocery store to where I live, so I end up going here. The prices are high and lines can be long, but the quality is good and there's always lots of parking. The produce is fresh and so are their baked goods. You can find most things you need here. One of the cashiers always greets me by my name and is very friendly, as are the rest of the staff. Saving i easier now with Just for U, where you virtually clip coupons. The app for it is awesome, I can look up the deals while I shop and I end up saving a few dollars. read more

regularly the employees are very kind but I have had bad experience, especially today that I was attended by a guy named Ian quite rude, reluctantly I made the discount and questioning if I had scanned the product I was bringing, with the offers of just for you, it is always the same, I must check that they are valid because otherwise they do not apply the discount, they have very good offers but it is annoying to have to demand that they be valid whenever I go. read more

Staple items are constantly out of stock for who knows how long and no matter what time of day you go there will never be more than 3 lanes open. Lines are constantly down aisles and more than 10 customers deep. Plan ahead to compensate for the long lines. read more

This is the place I prefer to do my grocery shopping. It's been this place for years. I think they are a terrific place and I always have excellent customer service there. Even more so, I love shopping there because of the Safeway for U savings. I save a lot of money when you do it right. Safeway is my go to grocery store because it's clean inside, they have a decent organic produce selection, the produce is fresh, the prices are affordable and I can get pretty much everything I need there. Whole foods has the best selection for meats, fish and produce, but I'd say this Safeway is the best alternative to save a few dollars and still get quality product. read more

My girlfriend and I used to go to Safeway regularly, but stopped after moving to Kaneohe due to this store. The bakery, in particular, is what drove us away. We went there looking for two items: the jalapeno cheese bagels and the energy bars. Usually they didn't have either, but when they finally did we found the bagels were a joke (they had only the tiniest bit of cheese and smallest bit of a jalapeno), and that there were bugs all over the energy bars. It's one thing to make crappy bagels, but to have your bakery infested with insects is quite another. read more

When I used to live in Kaneohe, I loved buying the "Korean Poke" from this store. The poke is mixed with pepper (I have been told they were habanero peppers) that gave this poke a nice spicy flavor with the other sauces! I live near Windward City Shopping Center so most of the time I shop at Foodland. When I have to drive to Kaneohe town, I occasionally shop at Safeway. Today was one of those days. Now I remember why I don't shop there more often. A majority of the employees act like they do not want to be there, and there are doing you a favor by serving u at the deli, checkout and service counter. I ran into a classmate who works in bakery, n she was super helpful.. and a person stocking shelves who helped graciously. Next time I'll drive to Costco. They seem to appreciate having a job! read more

I like that this grocery store carries Rosealiani Ice Cream which is distinctively Hawaiian. The staff were friendly at helping me find what I was looking for. This store has a good selection of items not found in other grocery stores. read more

Poke=good check out lines=HORRIBLE I only go there for the poke and cookies. There is usually only 3 lines open and are ALWAYS ridiculously long. I have yet to see them open more lines when they're busy. read more

I prefer Foodland but hate all the stop lights down Kam to get to it so I run to this Safeway when I need an item or two. Its just meh/ok but I really don't understand why a grocery store lets dogs in their store. I am a dog owner and I would never think of putting my dog in a shopping cart, as I have witnessed in the bread section, yum fur on my fresh baked bread. Or just as the other day some guy walking out with his little mop dog on a leash. I understand if they are service dogs but these are not service dogs. People need to leave the pets at home or in the car when you are going into the grocery store. This last time I looked at a worker and asked if that was really sanitary for my food. Great selection. But every week i need buttermilk. Im lucky if they have it, and if they do, its expired about half the time. Its super convienent for me to get the buttermilk at safeway, but im getting annoyed. I talked to an employee, and he said the dairy comes in on thursdays, so i try to make my ranch for my job on thursdays or fridays, so i get a fresh product, yet last friday i went, and there were three buttermiks on the shelf, 4 days past experation! And when i asked if they had in the back, i waited for 20 minutes. Thats 20 minutes of my workday, on a friday, gone. I was really annoyed. read more

How do you have ten registers with over twenty customers and only one register open? The only thing keeping the Safeway in Business is the fact that it is located within a residential area.
