What could improved?! Your cashiers need improvement! We were told the line for the two open cashiers was over there (cashier pointing). Well there was NO sign stating line starts here! We decided to use self checkout, so we did not have to deal with rude cashiers! Something went wrong with self checkout, another cashier came over to supposedly to assist and was just as rude as the other cashier! What has happened to Longs not CVS, Longs Drugs! Multiple LONGS stores locations & employees are just out right rude & nasty! These are the older cashiers! First time for us to this branch on the Windward side. We were driving around the island. Very helpful pharmacist who actually left her post to show me where the recommended Allegra was (sneezing and coughing) and the different types ie 12 hours vs 24 hours. Hubs used their restroom after a family of 4. It's by their minute clinic and you need a key. We also picked up lemon peel, ginger, li hing cherry, and more. Doc was generous as ever and paid for everything. She's too quick. Glad we found this store as we had Yelped 2 crack seed shops that were supposed to be nearby. Ever since CVS bought out Longs, the store has become less and less fun to shop at. I used to look forward to the Sunday ads. Workers used to be friendly and we'd go so often that we'd know them by name. Everything is so different now. The set up at all Longs locations have changed to where the sale items r no longer located in the middle of the stores but on their normal non-sale shelves so you're really forced to shop the entire store rather than just the sale area. Smart but that sucks if u don't actually know where the item is. Longs now places non-sale items very close to sale items to where it's very easy to mistakenly think you're picking up a sale item. Ex: green/red tissue paper is currently on sale. The boxes of white tissue paper was on the shelf right above the shelf with the boxes of green/red tissue papers. BOTH shelves had the sign with the sale price and in very, very, very tiny font, specifically said "green/red". It wasn't until I was checking out did I realize the white tissue paper was not on sale. When I told the cashier I didn't want the white tissue papers as they were not on sale, she got so upset. Hello? Stop the deceiving signage! My bad for not reading the itsy bitsy font more carefully, but why would I even think I'm picking up a non-sale item when the sale sign is RIGHT under (or over) the item??? Made perfect sense to me that both colors of tissue paper would be on sale. read more

Had some time to kill before having a massage next door. Decided to check out this store hoping they would have postcards. (In Hawaii visiting my sister for the next few months.) The worst. Unfriendly clerks. You'll rarely find someone with a smile or someone helpful. The only people who are nice is Brandon, the pharmacists, and one or two more folks in pharmacy department. It's sad because the only stop here for meds because it's close and convenient for my Mom. Otherwise I shop at Target, Whole Foods, and Down To Earth. On my most recent visit, I had to return an item, and there was a discount originally attached to it on my CVS card. I simply asked the clerk a question which was, does the discount go back on my card? She looked at me with the most rude sassy face, and then said no, and then when I asked further, she got more aggravated. I finally went to the manager of the store and explained the situation and told her how rude this clerk was? The manager apologized on her behalf, but I can tell you that probably zero change will happen there. I grew up in this town, and as a kid, saw Longs built when it was just an empty field. I just wish there were employees who wanted to work there and actually help people. And if you think going to the self service area is better? Good luck. Those folks just sort of stand there. My family and I are frequent shoppers at Longs/CVS. We get our prescriptions filled there and do our daily shopping. Tonight was the second time I was treated badly by the sales associate this week. I had a coupon on my phone for 3$ off any eye or ear drops. When I was at the check out my coupon didn't take, so I proceeded to ask the clerk why it wasn't working. He said I had the wrong item. I then showed him on my phone it was in fact the correct item ( example was shown on the app ) and I was purchasing the exact item shown in the detail/example given on app. He then said there's nothing he can do and that it seems that I'm having a rough night!! The only reason I would have been having a rough night was because I lost out on a $3 coupon and paid 13$ for my eye drops, and then was insulted by the clerk after HE couldn't figure out why my coupon didn't take. read more

This is my go to store since WalMart is not in Kaneohe...yet. The prices are usually pretty low. I like the coupons and the cash back when you use your CVS card. Every Sunday morning, my coworkers and I look forward to the Longs ad or the booklet. There's a good variety of snacks, household & personal items as well as over the counter medication. I pick up my prescriptions here regularly. I appreciate when friends give me gift cards for Longs. I feel like I can get good deals here! read more

It's amazing the variety of stuff Long's in Hawaii sells. On top of the usual non-perishable stuff they have local favorites like seed, snacks such as arare, dried fruits with li hing powder, Hawaiian Host products, poi muffins, Japanese foods etc. Watch out though because if things aren't on sale, it can get pretty pricey so check out those Long's ads in the paper and plan your shopping trip. read more

Longs is pretty much all over Oahu these days, along with the competition of Walgreens, Wal-Mart, and Costco, Longs Drugs tends to be a good retail establishment on the island. I was in the neigbohood and decided on stocking up on things before going back to Kaimuki. This one is like all the others, but this one goes out of their way to make you feel important. Alot of large retail establishments don't give you that sense of belonging anymore. Just saying. Longs Drugs prides itself on selling every day items for everyone, as well as household items you would also see in Costco and Sam's Club. While they do not sell produce, Longs is awesome in selling candy, snacks, and assorted canned products. They have a bit of everything and the prices here can be less than the other competitors. The savings can be significant - compared to the others. This can be your go to store for everyday shopping, but do be mindful about sales and discounted items on your favorites. Longs comes out with a weekly advertisement in the Honolulu Star Advertiser on Sunday, so check those out to save even more $$ on top of what you are possibly saving! Always organized and clean, this Longs Drugs store is always a go-to place for me whenever I need something. Located in Windward City shopping center, this can be your one stop shop to get everything you need. The parking can be a hassle at times, but there its plenty of parking. I did see alot of people hanging outside of the premises without really anything better to do, besides talk and smoke. Not like that's illegal or anything, but that's just a bit too weird and random. I came in earlier today and was paying at the self checkout area. I have three Marine Corps Challenge Coins in the coin section of my wallet and for some stupid reason, I took them out to get change and never put them back. It wasn't until 10:30pm that I noticed they were gone. I searched high and low in my car, house, and work. I felt the need to call Longs just as a last resort. Someone had found them and kept them safe for me. I instantly started crying on the phone when the woman said she had them. I'm so sorry that I can't remember her name. These coins (one especially) has been in my possession for two decades. I was so lost and heartbroken. But the wonderful people there kept them and returned them to me. I will forever be grateful. I arrived at opening for a behind the counter allergy medicine- my daughter was suffering. They were out and I asked if they could call the nearest longs to check for me. The front person -joey- said no there was someone waiting in line. There was one person waiting, four pharmacy staff - and none of them could help me. The pharmacist was right behind her and knew what I needed and did not step into help. This does not make sense, and is not customer service or pono. This is one reason why chain stores have a bad reputation and we should support local. read more

I like this longs best because of the workers. Seriously, everyone I encounter here are all so nice. They're really helpful and can always answer my questions if I'm looking for something. PLUS, they have a Hello Kitty aisle. :) When they have sales, everything is so darn cheap! I love it. They have a really good variety of local snacks and actually, anything you need you can probably find here. I also don't like that there's always people loitering in front of the store. The pharmacy and clerks are great, and the store is well-stocked. But to save money on employees, I guess, they installed a bunch of those self-checkout machines which are absolutely annoying. Is it just me or has this store at Windward City lost its grasp on good customer service? Yes they've recently renovated.....that's great! But maybe it's time to upgrade the foundation of any great business "CUSTOMER SERVICE!" I've shopped at this location since they first opened and will probably continue doing so because of it's convenient location. On recent visits I have noticed a decline on friendly and" good ole customer service." On the sales floor the clerks go about their business and sometimes are more concerned of their plans after work rather than helping you fill your shopping cart. It's almost like you are invisible to them and sometimes it seems that you are interupting their work or even their play. You almost never get acknowledged or offered assistance if you don't ask for it. And when you do it's done halfheartedly. At the checkout the cashiers rarely greet you or even thank you after taking your money,,,,Watzup Widat! With the slice of pie getting smaller and the copetition even greater you would think that providing good customer service should be an area of concern. The Honest Truth: Nothing too fancy about this longs, but I will say that if you are visiting Oahu and want macadamia nut/ kona coffee souvenirs, come here! Don't go to ABC stores, longs usually has sales and you can get pretty much any touristy food item you want. The Details: Whenever I come to visit my family in hawaii, we always come to Longs to get presents to bring back. Why? They ALWAYS have sales and its usually the stuff that you want. From any sort of macadamia nut/chocolate combination, to guava jams and kona coffees, they are usually cheaper than other stores. Don't be fooled that its just a Longs... I love the renovations they did to this place! I've been coming here since I was a kid, so to see these changes blew my mind. Just have to get used to the different layout now! I would've gave them 4 stars, but the last time I went in here was weird. The cashier just said hi to me, rang up my items, and starts adjusting her pants right in front of me???? Like are you serious???? To top it off she was just talking to her co-worker right next to her the whole time on how it was really slow that day. They didn't even thank me after I paid. I don't really care how slow it is, you shouldn't be adjusting your pants right in front of the customer and then basically air them out because your talking to your co-worker right next to you. This review is specific for the Pharmacy. The Longs drugs pharmacy at the Windward City Shopping Center is notorious for their lack of customer service...ask anyone who lives in the area. There can be 4 pharmacy technicians on staff, all are in the back talking story, either returning stuff back to stock or typing up labels...and YOU could be standing at that counter to be helped for a good 10-15 minutes until one of them actually come to the front to help you. (Mind you, the pharmacy is now open - so you can see them as well as they can see you) Unfortunately there is a very slim probability that their customer service attitude will change, since it's been like that as far as I can remember. If my parents' drug coverage didn't have a contract where they have to pick up from CVS..I would have change pharmacies a long time ago. read more

This review is specifically for the Longs Drugs CVS Windward City CREW who worked on 8/05/14 at 8:30pm. The store was busy with people shopping for hurricanes preparedness (Hurricane Iselle and Hurricane Julio). The essentials like TP, canned goods, etc. were up front, middle aisles. I want to give Big Props to all the Staff working that shift. They were BUSY re-stocking, assisting customers. One young man asked if I needed help with anything. (No, thanks. I was good). The Cashiers also had friendly and courteous attitudes and smiles. Even though the lines were consistently long. Overhead for "additional cashiers to the registers" as needed. HUGE SHOUT-OUT to the EXCEPTIONAL customer service of Ocean C. today at Longs Windward City Shopping Center. I had two large mylar balloons that needed a helium refill and a dozen new latex balloons. I expected some hesitation due to the quantity and for the refill - especially since Party City where I originally purchased the large (and expensive) mylar said that there was no way to refill balloons. From the beginning Ocean C. was friendly and cheerful, making the entire process pain-free. I hope she is recognized for being such an outstanding employee and asset to the company. read more

This is a pretty typical longs. It doesn't seem nearly as busy as others but I normally am just here in the mornings. The cashiers are always nice and the store is kept relatively clean despite renovations and the moving around of shelves. The main thing I always notice is how empty the first 2-3 shelves are on the left hand side as you enter the store. It's like half of the row is just empty. Granted that's usually where holiday, seasonal, or clearance items are but its just pretty unsightly for me. There is usually a lot of parking but stalls do get taken up by 24 members. The pharmacy here is also pretty quick with medications. read more

My rating is more for the pharmacy than anything else. This has been my pharmacy for years and they are awesome. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Kona, Nia and Henry are my favorite pharmacy technicians, just like family. As for the store itself, it's usually pretty well organized. It's a small-medium sized Longs and a little more homey than other ones out there. It's not quite as stocked as the larger Longs out there, but it has everything I need. If you have a CVS care card, the sale prices often can't be beat. I love stocking up on Spam whenever it comes on sale here. The sales associates are very helpful and friendly. Dara, Andrew and Cori are some of my favorite people there. It really makes my shopping experience a lot better when I'm treated well and get a little friendly small talk from employees. read more
