I thought I might do my bit to remedy that for my own local, seeing as how they are doing a pretty good job. When I come in, I'm nearly always greeted personally by one of the staff. The service in the pharmacy is efficient and knowledgeable, and they have gone the extra mile on several occasions to interact with my healthcare provider in getting me taken care of. The store is clean and organized, but poorly stocked. I get the impression they are perpetually in the midst of downsizing, and it feels a little early-Covid/Soviet Union with isles of mostly-empty shelves and little selection. That's the only detracting factor, and the missing star. They got it going on where it really counts: customer service and pharmacy efficiency. You could do a WHOLE lot worse in Bellingham - I'm looking at YOU, Walgreens... Recommended.

Extremely poor customer service. I was given a gift card for a returns item refund. I had the paperwork from the return along with the card. The card number did not match the paperwork and they basically accused me of fraud and did nothing to review how the refund was issued. I called customer service by phone and they confirmed the refund and the credit. They said that one of the two pieces of paper I was issued was an eGift card with a barcode for scanning at the register and couldn't understand why I was also given a card that had not been activated. So the store customer service accused me of fraud as they held the eGift card in their hands. Unbelievable!

Their machine is broken! I was told the closest Rite Aid location with photo service is in Lynden, a city 15 miles away! I transferred my prescription here a week before pick up to minimize the constant hurdles I am always having to go through just to pick up my hormone prescription. I was assured I would be able to pick up my meds in 1-2 days. I showed up after a week. No meds. Plus I was now being told it would take another day. When asked to clarify the man said it would be 2 days. Now extending the wait from 1-2 days to 8-9 days. The communication coming from this "pharmacy" is so bad it literally is putting me in harms way. Im not sure who it was I talked to on the phone that assured me my hormones would be ready and just seemed to decide not to get my prescription after the time he promised elapsed. Ya know, as you do, just casually deciding to enforce your power over others and put them in harms way through apathy, totally not his fault, I mean, he didn't *do* anything after all, including not getting my meds he promised he'd have ready. Funny how this keeps happening at every pharmacy I go to. Its very interesting how Planned Parenthood seems to be so knowledgeable about the difficulty we always face, almost as if it is oddly common for trans people to frequently have hurdles at pharmacies. The look on this mans face simply asking if it was a safe place. This is *such* a common phrase for businesses to signal to LGTBQIA people, so common there are literal stickers to buy that can be placed at the storefront. Even when it was apparent a problem arose, he made *such* minimal effort even going as far as to inform me *other* prescriptions were available, just not mine. He made it very apparent it was not a safe place with his response, that it was the stupidest question he had ever heard and I was stupid for asking it. Unfortunately, all my refills had been used and the prescription had long expired. Walmart sent an emergency request to my doctor and the next day my pills were ready for pick up. In other words, when you REALLY need a medication it is your responsibility to not wait until the last minute to submit a request. Pharmacists are not mind readers!
