Must right a review of the steak from Safeway meat department. A year ago a friend mentioned he always purchased his meat at Safeway. I thought about it and remembered my mother also valued Safeway meat, so much that after they moved to Tulsa every time one of us visited we would be taking several roasts in coolers to her. Last night, 3rd time in a row the 1 pound 1 1/2 in thick freshly hand cut off the loin New York steak was % DELICIOUS and beyond TENDER (like cutting into a marshmallow). No other meat source in the Castle Rock area compares and believe me, we've purchased from each grocery store. read more

I rarely go here because it always seems cruddy. One time I went and asked for meat at the meat counter. I asked how fresh it was and the man actually touched his nose to the meat and said it smelled really fresh. That is the last time I ever bought meat from this store. I only shop here if I don't have time to go to king soopers and need something that I know is packaged. The produce also goes bad at a significantly quicker rate than king soopers. read more

Been shopping here for 10 years. Won't be going back anymore. The checkout lines are ridiculous. Shouldn't have customers standing around 15-20 people deep waiting for self checkout during a pandemic. Any chicken I buy here now goes bad within 2 days, even if the sell by date is several days away. I've seen rotten chicken in the cooler the last 3x I've been there. Produce also goes bad within a couple days. I've purchased frozen items which have obviously thawed and then refrozen, example ice cream bars that melted, garlic bread where the cheese fell off etc. I used to be ok paying more here for the convenient location but now I'm concerned about getting sick from mishandled food so I'll be shopping elsewhere. read more

This Safeway has a beautiful floral department, abundant produce, freshly baked artisian breads and an expanded deli/ prepared foods section. If it were closer to my house I am sure that I would favor this store over my closer King Soopers market. As you can see from my attached photo, you get gas saver rewards and wow they add up! I earned 90 cents off yesterday!!! Woohooo! (Of course I am feeding a small army but even your average shopper can save money). read more

I have had a change of heart. This was five star for me, now it's three. I will go periodically but only for a Couple things. Their produce is almost always going bad when I shop, and to be honest, even with the just for u coupons, sprouts and king soopers is cheaper, and better quality products. read more

Was just there on 01/10/19 @9:16 pm..and was at customer service waiting patiently and someone came along and asked if we had been helped I replied no...which point they call over head and ask for a manager..this happen 2 times after 7 minutes or so one of the employees at the register in front of customer service, says go ahead and knock on the door that's located behind the counter., i cant do it i will get fired...so i do it..nothing...after 5 or so minutes of waiting a lady casually strolls over... at this point I say I'm leaving and I believe her response was good....I'm not aware of how many employees work there at night but you might want to think of hiring some people that actually like there jobs...I've been here since Perry street was dirt...this is highly disappointing. read more

The guy in the meat department is a jerk! I simply wanted ground beef from under the glass where it's some what fresher (not really) than the cooler rack. He asks 'what it's not over there' pointing to the rack. I was like like 'never mind I'll go look!' Then stomped off. Great customer service! I hate this store. Since they "remodeled", they put piles of merchandise in every aisle making it extremely difficult to maneuver if there is more than one shopper. I feel this more than inconveniences the shopper, I feel it is a safety issue. I hope Safeway's risk management dept. is ready for the lawsuit that will come when a customer trips over the crap blocking the aisles & hurts themselves - it'll happen & it will be the retirement account for anyone it happens to. read more

I do not understand how this store and all their other stores are still open! Safeway has significantly higher prices for their stuff that can always be found cheaper anywhere else. The thing that bugs me the most is that they do not even price match any of there items while the prices are so high. The Starbucks in this store even have higher prices then the one in King Soopers. I went to get a free drink here using a reward from Starbucks and it was not even free, Safeway has their additional 10 cents they charge for the drinks which really pisses me off. Please Albertsons, close this store down and put one your stores in here. read more

All of the organic eggs on the shelf expired a week ago and the manager just shrugs. Produce is overpriced and not fresh. Organic fruits look rotten and some have mold. Would only go here in an absolute bind (out of milk for kid or something) - definitely could use an updated grocery option near the area. read more

I would definitely utilize Safeway's 'pick-up' grocery service again! Easy online ordering system, text received and groceries were ready ahead of scheduled time, parking lot signs easy to find for area pick-up, appropriate substitutions made for just a few items (as I stated online that were acceptable), wait time was no more than 10 minutes, grocery employee friendly while wearing face mask (as currently recommended), and only 1 item not available. Besides the fact that I shop here weekly, my daughter and I got up early day after Christmas to hit all the Day after Christmas sales mostly for decor! Went to Walmart, Michaels, Walgreens, Target, King Soopers & Safeway last! We almost didn't stop at Safeway (as we were tired) and SO glad we did! ALL Christmas stuff was 75% off ! They gave the largest percentage off of all the above named stores. And had really nice things! Thx Safeway for making our after Christmas Day sale shopping experience wonderful! read more

This is one of my favorite Safeways in Colorado. This store is certainly larger than some of the Denver locations. The store was also very clean and the staff seemed to thoroughly enjoy their jobs. I will be happy that my father will be using the Safeway once he moves down to Castle Rock. This is a great location if you are living in the Plum Creek area. read more

Literally horrible place to shop. Just go somewhere else. I was walking up to the line at the self checkout to purchase myself 2 donuts, which were well deserved after a long days work. There are 2 sections of self checkout kiosks, and so I began to walk up to the smaller of the 2 assuming there would be a shorter line. As I approached an older gentleman had finished up his purchase and was leaving, so naturally I moved towards the register, just at this moment some total woman has the oddacity to blow past me and shove herself to the checkout before I could set down my donuts rudely saying "excuse me" and providing to purchase a monster energy drink. At this point I'm shocked and disappointed in humanity slightly but wait patiently without saying a word. Then move to the next checkout as it opens. Watching the women who thought she was more important than me finish checking out. Then to my amazement she walks over to the managers office and let's herself in. THIS LADY WORKS HERE. Was treated very rudely by staff at this store. Had my puppy with me and was absolutely snapped at and embarrassed by an employee whom could have simply asked me to leave in a nice manner, but chose to act in an aggressive and rude manner. I have taken the pup in the store before and she was petted by the staff whom did not previously have an issue. As a result of this interaction my family will no longer shop there and we will spend our thousands of dollars in annual grocery purchases elsewhere. read more

Clean and open late but like most other Safeway locations the prices are a higher than what you'll find at the King Soopers and/or Walmart. Location wise this one seems to be tucked away in a less than ideal spot, and it's definitely time for an upgrade to the entire plaza/parking area. Produce seemed a little on the iffy side when I've visited and I don't think the selection is all it could be considering the size. It likely won't be a regular grocery stop for me, but it is handy for the handful of items I routinely forget. read more

I only go here if I have to...ie driving by and we're out of milk. I avoid this store if at all possible. Having said all that, I've had to buy stuff here 20-30 times over the past 9 years. I've never felt welcome. The guys working the register are void of personality and concern for the customers. It also surprises me that people would shop here. If you have to go to a grocery chain, King Soopers prices blow Safeway away. We do 90% + of our shopping at Costco and Sam's Club since we have a big family. Their customer service is horrible. Last time the cashier removed the tag off my bread and then proceeded to tie the bag in a knot rather than replace the item. Then she hit process before putting in my rewards card. I then had to wait in line at the customer service counter to get difference back. They couldn't even put the difference back on my card, they had to give me cash. Their prices are also way higher than King Soopers. No wonder so many are going out of business. I hope this one does too and gets replaced by another grocery store. read more

I've have shopped here maybe onhce a month for the past few years. My most recent visit was the best ever. The produce was amazing and they had some great deals going on fresh beef like $3.99/lb for top sirloin. Have you ever had Campanelli tomatoes? They are the best and almost never to be found except I did find them here! Generally I think they do a very good job and I hope it only gets better with Albertsons taking over. read more

I struggled between 2 and 3 stars. The women who work in the deli are great, very friendly and give great service. Try their "in-store roasted" turkey breast. Very good. As is their in-store fried chicken, But that's really about all I like about this store. They don't have a coffee grinder, so you have to grind it at home, or go wait in the line at Starbucks, and buy it there. Their prices are generally higher than King Sooper's, and sometimes their produce is lacking. Recently I went, and they didn't have any button mushrooms, a very common item. It's also hard to find someone who works there when you have to ask where something is. If I need just a few things fast, I go there, but otherwise I find it's worth the drive to go to King Sooper's off of Founder's. They have a much better cheese/gourmet section, better selection of just about everything. read more

This store is horribly outdated for the size of CR. Visit the Safeway at Castle Pines to see what we are missing. The CR Employees are marvelous, but store is filled with way too many non-food items. It's ridiculous that we can get Auto supplies at the grocer, but can't get groceries at the Auto store! Choices are often limited to 2 brands. Overall, it's worth the drive north. read more
