Wow...on Saturday the 28th of June at 6:30am I went to get some groceries... I found everything that I needed except Dasani water...upon entering the water aisle and seeing the water empty I asked the coke cola merchandiser who carries that kind of water if there was anymore in the back room... he said yes but he didn't have time to get it..,so I finished shopping and met Nicole at the register...we talked about it and she said give me minute... 5 minutes later here she comes carrying that heavy water to the check stand...I couldn't believe it but I thanked here 100 times... Customer service was terrible, i watched my cashier "Izzetta" argue with an elderly woman that her frozen pizza wouldn't fit in a bag because she simply didn't feel like bagging it. The lady asked for a bag again and she bagged her pizza and practically tossed it at her rolling her eyes. Then as I come up being next in line, she was slamming my groceries around and aggressively bagging them and stopped and looked at me with no response when I asked if I can please buy cigarettes.... Prescott Valley, AZ has the worst place to shop. They send us ads, but the ads price is not in the compute on check out and you have to stand around until manage show up to fix something that needed to be in the computer. I have been shopping here for about 1 year and have been happy with the service except for the other day, September 22, 2024. My cashier's name was Izzetta. I was greeted nicely until she started asking me about 8 or 9 items I was buying. She would stop and ask me what are sun dried tomatoes for, what is raw sugar, what was a Mexican grey squash and why she didn't like the smell of celery. This went on and on. In the meantime the line was backed up to amount 5 people. The man behind me was getting upset and I just wanted to get out. She also messed up on 3 items by over charging me. I do not think she is in the right business but that is not my problem. I would highly recommend someone or manager talk to her about this behavior and make it more comfortable for the customers and free up long lines of people waiting. Thank you. read more

The deli lady made a new customer for Frye's today. At about 11:15 today, Dec. 10, I was at the deli. One of the two old ladies working there asked me what I wanted and then returned to whatever she was doing at the slicer after I told her I was still deciding. The two old ladies started a loud conversation about divorce, even singing the song "D-I-V-O-R-C-E." I tried to get their attention several times, but they were too wrapped up in their angry conversation. Finally, I screamed loud enough to get the attention of one. I told the lady, who appeared to be annoyed by my existence, that I wanted a half pound of roast turkey, and she replied angrily, "FOR SANDWICH?" Thinking she was asking if I wanted her to make a sandwich, I said, "No, just slices." She became very agitated and barked, "SO DO YOU WANT A THICK SLICE OR WHAT?" I said, "No, just regular thin slices." Then she yelled loudly, "THAT'S WHY I ASKED YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE," treating me like I was a total idiot ruining her day. She gave me a dirty look, rolled her eyes at me like a twelve-year-old in a seventy-year-old body, and turned to the slicer. I walked out and will never return if I can help it. read more

Wow. Awful experience at Safeway today. The lady at checkout was talking about politics, which I told her she shouldn't be doing that. She proceeded to argue with me the entire two transactions that she had. I was shopping for another person, and she insulted the fact that an ebt card was used for the transaction. "At least nobody ever had to buy food for me". I spoke to the manager, but he didn't seem to mind much. I will take my business to Frye's which has a better selection and prices anyway. read more

Having your employees stock the shelves ( especially produce) during operating hours is really inconvenient for customers. A large percentage of the vegetables were not on the shelf. The large carts and boxes used to unload them were blocking access to what was there as the men unloading them ( rather complaining about unloading them, I never saw them actually stack anything on a shelf) bickered about the task. Another customer asked for a common, specific vegetable and they made it quite clear they'll get it on the shelf when they get to it. I've always chosen Safeway over Fry's because your veggies were always better (note I wrote were). Employees in the meat department, dairy, snacks and others were also stacking products, yet they seemed to comprehend the value of getting their goods on the shelf quickly and helping people find them if they aren't displayed yet. read more

I rented a Rug Doctor carpet cleaner for 24 hours. When I returned it to customer service the next morning the clerk was very rude. First she said I didn't rent machine from the store but I kindly suggested that she pull up the rental agreement to verify it. Then she stated that the machine was filthy and she would not accept it back in that condition. I explained there was some clean water in the bottom of the tank but I couldn't get it out. There was a small amount of fuzz at the base of the brushes but even after soaking it and picking at it with tweezers I couldn't remove the fuzz completely. I asked her for suggestions on how to remove the fuzz and water and I would step outside and see what I could do to meet her expectations. She went and spoke to the manager on duty and came back and told me to take it home and clean it, again stating it was just too filthy. I was very embarrassed and humiliated by the way she she was talking to me in front of other customers, repeatedly saying the machine was filthy. I asked her to stop saying it was filthy because it wasn't. She called over the young man that rented the machine to me and told him to deal with me because she refused to continue to argue with me. Although I wanted to get ugly with her, I refused to act like she was being. I did my best to continue to talk to her in a respectful manner. The young man was very kind and took me outside and vigorously shook the tank until he got as much water as he could out if it. He agreed it was not at all filthy and kindly said he would check the machine in so I would not have to speak to the customer service clerk. The way she spoke to me was inexcusable and the embarrassment she caused me was unsettling. I will never rent a Rug Doctor from Safeway again because of her. read more

Honestly with so much chaos from corona virus, it's a little scary to be out in public. I'm not even from Prescott, but there's an employee here named Bailey who went out of her way -twice- to help me without asking. I made some comment off hand about them not having a drink I was looking for; and she overheard and told me an alternative place (seriously made my day), and then she was our cashier and was so so so helpful and friendly. This is the worst Safeway I have been into in over 60 years. They are always out of sale items, always need to get rain checks which the cashiers typically hate to do. The Deli - waited for them to come out of the back area for over 10 mins. Guess they are too busy to take care of their customers. Had to yell at them to get them to take care of their customers. Same thing last night in the Meat Dept. another customer and I are waiting for approx. 8 -10 mins, so started yelling that there are people out here. Finally a guy comes out like he's doing us a favor. The store looks at old as I am - poor condition, sale items hardly on the shelves and no one there really seems to care about taking care of their customers. Sad indeed. Avoid this store! I go out of my way to Sprout's for fish and meat. DO NOT buy the fish here, especially discounted fish. It is rotten. I called the manager twice and told him that he might want to remove the "special" fish since it smelled rank, and someone might get sick. He talked a good game, but the fish is still there in all its "manager's special" glory. You must also check the expiration dates on all meat. The goal is not to sell good quality stuff but rather to move inventory. They took out the self-check out lanes which is ridiculous, to add in an express lane that is always backed up. The deli service is really bad. I went there with my son to get him some sliced turkey. The lady slicing it never asked if we wanted a sample, and she just came up to me and slapped some turkey into my hand, no tissue. I don't eat meat and was repulsed. My son didn't like the look of the turkey, so we circled around and came back to get chicken strips instead. That same lady said, "Oh you wouldn't eat my turkey, but now you want chicken strips." This was an accusation rather than a playful comment. At that point, I'd had enough and vowed to never come back -- and I've held true on that promise. read more

The pharmacy staff is friendly and helpful and they filed my script promptly after it had sat at Walgreens for 2 days with one reason after the next on why they couldn't fill it. Super disappointed with this location recently. I have been going here for months and the girls used to be extremely nice and friendly to me at first and now I can tell they don't even like seeing me come in. I come in with big drink orders for my work, only every week or two, so not too often. I also always tip very well and try to be as nice as I possibly can because I've been a barista and I know it can get busy and hectic. But no matter how nice I am or how much I tip anymore the girls are no longer nice to me and I feel uncomfortable even waiting for my drinks anymore. On top of that they started charging me for a bunch of extra stuff that they never charged before and couldn't explain it. Which is fine with me to pay for the product but consistency is key. And I paid 10 more dollars than I normally pay today. I got cold foam on 4 drinks and paid a dollar extra for each one which is okay, but the girl first didn't put any on and then seemed irritated when I asked for it, (when it was written on the cup) and then barely put any on the last two drinks when I've already paid extra for them. And I did not even feel comfortable enough to ask for more foam that I paid for because they just seem so grumpy. Very sad to see and disappointing when this used to be my favorite location. read more

Just popped into safeway for a few things and got very excited to see that corona premier was on sale for the member price of $16.99, this whole issue started when our cashier Kelly was refusing to take my valid license all because it was vertical instead of horizontal ( I bought alcohol at the same safeway last week and had no issues) so Kelly said "iv'e been working here for 19 years and thats against our policy" so she called her manager Sammi over who confirmed my license was valid and had no issues taking it. So I saw my total and noticed that I did not get my member price on the alcohol, and she wasn't going to give it to me either until she went and looked for herself. we even apologized to the customers behind us because this whole situation was taking way longer than it should have. To which the customers replied " It's okay this happens all the time, we always have to make sure we got the deals on the items we get." It's very saddening to know that even an employee who has been working for the company for 19 years treats customers poorly and doesn't fully know how to do their job! read more

I like the rewards program. Be careful though and look at the expiration date. They sell expired stuff sometimes. The cashiers are not that friendly or mindful of your time. This review is about the Starbucks inside Safeway. I am an avid tea drinker and I am a regular customer at Starbucks. I have a store that I visit regularly, and consistently receive amazing customer service. The employees know me by name and are concerned with my experience. I recently received customer service that was more than the usual exemplary service that I usually receive. Recently Starbucks made the decision to switch tea brands from Tazo to Teavana, and I was displeased with the quality of the taste of the Teavana tea. As I said, the employees are always concerned with my experience. Amber is always offering new concoctions for our drinks, and so when I was unhappy, she sprung into action to create something that I would be happy with. Not only was I happy with my new drink, I was actually happier with the new drink than the original Tazo tea. I refuse to go to any other Starbucks location in town because it never is as good. Sara is always happy and makes an attempt to ask me about my day. Teresa is knowledgeable and friendly. Kiera is new but she makes an attempt to learn my preferences and is friendly as well. Chris, the manager, is always upbeat and knowledgeable as well. Very happy to have found such amazing customer service. read more

We normally order grocery items on line for pick up due to possible exposure to Covid. However, we have been in this Safeway on 69 Hwy in Prescott Valley several times for items that we needed right away or couldn't find on line. I want to say that even though this Safeway has signs posted requiring masks, we have discovered many people shopping there with no masks. When I complained to the management, they said there was nothing they could do about it. Even one young man who was checking us out had his mask nearly on his chin. When I pointed this out, he just shrugged and pulled it up reluctantly. At customer service today, the lady working there only put on her mask when actually talking to my husband. Very disappointed in this lack of diligence especially since it is a store policy and 500,000 people have died from Covid. We don't want to be a statistic and would hope management would make sure masks prodigals are followed. read more

As most Safeways, prices are a bit high but Fry's isn't much better, we all miss Albertsons. But my complaint with Safeway is their Scheduling. I went in at around 10 one evening about a year ago, I picked up a few items and went to the one open check stand and got into the rather long line.. After 6 or 7 minutes I observed that the line had not moved. I then found out that the poor girls register had frozen and the only one who had the key or code to fix it had gone to the gym on their break. We were all told it would be another 20 minutes before the night manager returned. WTF? Apparently several people who work in the vicinity get off when I do, at 9. Whenever I stop in after work there is one check stand open with a very long line. I want to know what happened to the deal Bashas was working on to lease the old Albertsons property. This town needs an alternative to all of these super stores. read more

I went online to order flowers, web page shows Prescott Valley Safeway Florists working with FTD, and delivery. I placed order and they took and charged all credit card info. But no flowers delivered, I called the next day and was told they don't deliver and they don't have FTD service anymore. Don't you think they could update the web page and not just take your money and order? Worst of all its a holiday today and the #800 they gave me to ask for a refund (Safeway corporate) is closed. My wife bought a few groceries yesterday at this Safeway and the receipt says they charged 14.24, but my bank statement says 54.73. we drove over there and they tried to tell us we had to go to the DES office to pull up the transaction because the food stamps charge our card.... she was refusing to help or give any other information about it. So i got in her face about it (which she totally did not see coming) she changed her tune saying that she can not pull up the transaction number, that we will have to come back on Monday to talk to the manger of the accounting office..... the way she acted was like she had a long day and did not want to deal with us right that moment, her name was brandy. the guy backing her up was named rod heart or something like that. yea, told them we are not shopping there again and we are going to submit a dispute with the bank. read more

I used to like to shop at Safeway...until the fish I bought there smelled like I opened a bottle of bleach. I washed it off and prepared it thinking maybe it hasn't been soaked in it but that didn't work. The fish was inedible. It tasted like chemical bleach. It is obvious they are engaging in the unfortunate, dangerous and unhealthy practice of soaking their spoiled meat in bleach so as to extend the shelf life and hide its rancidity. What a stupid practice. It's not even subtle. Do they think their patrons will buy meat that smells and tastes like chemicals? I will never shop there again. read more
