Trader Joe's store in Federal Way.

What do us Hawaii folks do whenever we go to da mainland? Trader Joe's of course!!! Lol! When I was up in Seattle for the weekend, I told my friend - Cory Y. if he could take me to a Trader Joe's so I could pick up a few things to take back home. We ended up checking out this Trader Joe's store in Federal Way. I must say it was a very busy store, but I'm so happy that I came here, as I found all the items that I was looking for. Shout out to the friendly TJ staff, as when I was looking for the coffee dept. and could not find the section I was looking for, a clerk led/pointed me out the way. Although the checkout lines were super busy, I must say that the cashiers were very efficient and friendly. Got what I came here for, mission accomplished! Thank you Trader Joe's! See ya again da next time I'm in Seattle.

I love the way they set up the produce.

Idk...it's like, no matter where I go, no matter what city I'm in, I always come back to this specific Trader Joe's. It's easy to navigate, the staff are impeccable, and the aisles have ample amount of space. It's obvious that they treat their employees great because there are staff there that have been there the entire 11-12+ years that I've been going to this Trader Joe's. Out of all of the years, I've only had a bad experience with 1 staff member and she no longer works there. Go figure. But this particular Trader Joe's is my go to for plants, sparkling strawberry juice, pizza dough, frozen goods and organic strawberries. I definitely recommend this specific Trader Joe's to everyone in the area.

This Trader Joe's is my go to once a week. Sometimes they are out of the preassembled salad kits but mostly selection seems decently stocked. I usually buy the salads, their pink coconut water (currently out), bananas and scan their snack aisle for new products. Prices are not high, as with PCC and Whole Foods for organics. Selection is limited but usually consistent for certain items. My dog always loved the Trader Joe's stick treats and they were a good price. I will never forget the moment one of the employees gifted me a bundle of flowers after I bursted into tears when he was asking what my plans were for the weekend, as my dog had just passed away and I was scrambling to find a cemetery for my dog. It was a kind gesture.

Their marinated carne asada is my favorite. I've never had a bad taco night thanks to it. My kids devour their chewy bars, and anything else I buy from here. The quality is always at least a step ahead of any other grocery store. A big thank you to Jim at the federal way location for supporting local youth soccer and helping to provide new equipment and uniforms with Trader Joe's support. Norpoint Soccer Club is so grateful for Trader Joe's support and dedication to enriching the lives of children in their community.

Prices were clearly visible and the different sections of the store well marked and laid out. I was attending the 2024 Men's Pac-12 Conference Swimming Championships a short ways up the road and stopped by each day for something to eat before each morning session as well as snacks. One morning I went with a pre-spectating sweet of a maple frosted Bavarian cream donut as well as some strawberry filled crêpes for snacking. I enjoyed both items, eating the donut after purchase and snacking on the crêpes across both days. The second day, I went with a deli sandwich for my pre-spectating food, specifically a turkey and Swiss cheese croissant sandwich. The croissant was fluffy and flaky, turkey slightly sweet and cheese creamy. The buttery-ness of the croissant made additional condiments not really necessary (per my tastes). I also got a Cadbury creme egg for a snack, though I ended up eating it the next morning at home. Ilya Kharun had fun with gesturing bunny ears with his hands in relation to this Easter bunny egg. Both days I arrived at the self check out area to find an available station or two. I came a little later on Saturday morning and the parking lot was a little fuller, though I still made it in early enough each day that I did not encounter longer lines.

I bought a package of pork ribs and found the meat to be full of fat, and when cooked it was mushy like it was water logged the beef had so many tendons that it was hard to take a bite without having to chew for over 5 minutes. I bought a slice of pizza and the dough was not cooked all the way through. The slice was floppy, the sausage was mushy and fell apart when you slightly pinched it, the pineapple was burnt and I counted only two small pieces of pepperoni on my pizza. Quality of produce= poor Meat= stay clear of it, too many bones and the texture when cooked is not right.

I've found the only thing a good deal here is the Chocolate Milk that I've posted in the photos for this profile. First one is $1.99 but the bottle return with a replacement purchase ends up being $1.95 so you only pay .05 cents for the next round of this delicious drink. Outside of the choco-milk, they charge a little more overall then if you were to hit their sister Kroger store Fred Meyer, so I will do most of my normal shopping at F/M. This store is clean. It's not a very large store, but it's good enough to serve the Northshore neighboring community. I've found their staff to be friendly except one guy in the hot deli department. One of my visits he came off rather abrupt and rude but everyone else was nice, so maybe he was having a bad day. I haven't seen him in a while. I'll be back!

The service was friendly. After checking out their salsa bar, we took a chance and ordered the Chile Rellenos, a 3 Taco Combination Plate with Asada, Pollo, and Pastor, along with Chips and Salsa and a Piña drink. Their food reminded me of a family-run restaurant with authentic street food taste. The chips and salsa were fresh and made a great starter. The salsa was flavorful. They don't pull back on the heat which is perfect. We also tried the Piña drink, which was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. The Chile Rellenos did not disappoint. The pepper was tender, good amount of cheese filling and their tomato sauce paired well. The 3 Taco Combination Plate was the highlight of the meal. The meats were flavorful, the rice and beans was traditional and everything paired well with the salsa from the bar. I was so impressed with their table side service. This is truly a hidden gem and the prices are on par with other area restaurants. I definitely enjoyed the experience which was amplified with a World Cup football game on TV, a small cheering squad and would highly recommend this spot.
