Pretty normal Safeway. The only thing that I've noticed, and maybe it's because I don't go out past 6 to my Safeway in the south end, is that they have deals on deli items on Fridays. I'm assuming it's a Safeway-wide thing but it was a pretty good deal for some Americanized Chow Mein. Some parts were a little crunchy but for $5 a good deal. read more

The store itself is nice, and so are the people who work there. The customers are a different story. Very rude, and I always get hassled for money by people when I leave the store. We go to a Safeway that is further from us. Beware of a woman in an RV claiming that her mother is diabetic and they need gas money to get to Seattle. She tried that on two different occasions with me. read more

I have been using Safeway.Com for 13 years. The delivery men are wonderful. The service is great. They were late once and they called me. The whole store has been so helpful. I'm sad I no longer live in Bellevue, the Safeway there is much better. This location has a real staffing problem. The majority of the time they only have 2 staff members at checkout, with one of them working the self check out lane, which means only 1 lane remains open. You end up with a line going all the way down the aisle. People are constantly bitching and complaining, clogging up aisle ways for people who are trying to shop. The staff members who do end up working check out are friendly and do the best they can with the circumstances they are put it which is why it gets 2 stars. The big issue with this place has to do with management, it's time for a change. read more

This review is for the complex not the store: (Overall the Safeway store is okay. Shopped here a few times and I would not recommend coming in here.) The drivers in this complex need to learn to F@#$@#$@# drive! They cut you off at the last minute. Don't care if they back into you or come close. Be a lane hog and creep forward just enough to not allow yielding traffic to go. This is a fender bender parking lot to the extreme. I refuse to shop at any of the stores because of the arrogance of the drivers. My dash cam will prove all of my stories if you're in doubt. The low income stores also attract a crowd i would rather not deal with. As I've had a few crazy's go bonkers on me for trying to say hello to them. read more

Don't get their deli specials. The food is old and rotting. I had to throw it away. I'm usually not picky but it's really gross.

I actually like this Safeway because they have a lot of self checkout counters. The place stays relatively clean and the staff is friendly. My only complaint would be the dangerous environment. Recently, there have been shootings and quite a few shoplifters. Actually, about a couple of weeks ago, while I was shopping, I overheard and saw some staff contacting the police and trying to corner a shoplifter as he left the store and walked briskly away. Needless to say, there is always a security guard at the door which on one hand makes consumers feel safer but on the other hand shows that there is a need for law enforcement inside a supermarket. Oh, and I should also mention I think after 10pm or so the self checkout stands are the only registers open. read more

Safeway.Com operates out of the Downtown Renton Store. Their service is outstanding. They go out of their way to be careful of the age dating. The drivers are on time and so helpful. I am housebound and without them I would be at a lose for shopping. I just order what ever I want over the internet, tell them when to deliver and that is it. IF a problem they resolve it right away. read more

The store isn't low-class but 35% of the people are, making it 2 levels above Walmart. Some idiot mistook my reusable, 99cent grocery bag for a purse I guess, and stole it from my cart when I went to another aisle for a mere 1 minute. I guess they've never seen a purse that cost more than 99 cents. Idiots aside, the cashiers are really friendly as is the late-night security guard. read more

I love this place. It's the best safeway in Renton. They're extremely fast and friendly. The Deli is good. The prices are highly reasonable especially when you use your club card during a sale. I go here for food and beverage. And sometimes to get medicine which is very convenient. Their new self check out is awesome. read more

I'm about ready to give up on ever going back to this store. Some of the checkout clerks are super rude and apply their own rules to receiving coupons. Very annoying. In addition, if one is there after dark, one is often approached by panhandlers that are marginally agreessive in the parking lot. They seem to hang out right in front of the store on some benches there. Later in the evening, the store closes the far door and forces many customers to walk by these people. Why doesn't the store take out the benches and otherwise discourage the panhandlers? A few months ago, I returned some butter that had mold inside the sealed cover. I noticed that all the other butter in the aisle had the same problem and I pointed it out to the manager. She assured me they would take care of it. A few weeks later I noticed the same lot of butter on the shelf, still for sale. It is convenient for me as this store is halfway home from work for me, but after experiencing another annoying episode today, I'm ready to give up. read more

Stopped in for a box of Rice Krispies. Didn't have any so settled for Cocoa Rice Krispies. 40 people in line. Two checkers. Self check has been removed. 15 items or less closed. After standing in line for 17 minutes and only half way to the checker, they finally brought two more. Took another five minutes from there to close the deal on my box of cereal. Brenda was my checker. She was a little frosty. Didn't apologize for the wait. I have a feeling that checking groceries might be below her pay grade on the Safeway ladder. Warning! Don't buy the turkey dinner! On Thanksgiving, the roads were slick due to ice and snow. We decided to buy a turkey dinner for $39.99. Let me tell you: we took 2 bites and everything, gravy included, went into the garbage. This was the worst turkey dinner ever. Mashed potatoes had a grindy taste like a dirt road. The turkey was dry and tasted like it was pulled from last year's dinner. I will NOT be purchasing another dinner at Safeway. Buyer beware. read more

If anyone actually likes this Safeway it's because they must have really low standards of how a store should operate. Be careful here, as others have said it is rather unsafe and they don't bother with security like Fred Meyer does, so you get sketchy people wandering the parking lot. Another thing they don't spend money on is an extra cashier, expect long lines. I went there a while ago and was told I would have to wait 15 minutes for a cashier to check our stuff out! Well I have been a long time customer here because of the gas rewards and it is simple to get to but I have been questioning it lately because every time I go there there are only two lines open or self check out and i usually have too many items for self check out. I usually do not like walmart which is 10 percent cheaper because of big crowds and they don't offer gas rewards but I may switch to Fred Myers because they just opened up gas station there. I don't know one cashier is really weird she won't let me put my own groceries in my grocery cart after they are bagged???like i am too stupid to do it on my own or something or she thinks i am stealing or something???? i do not know but it rubs me the wrong way. Store is clean, most employees are nice but them cutting corners on the cashiers is really beginning to get on my nerves especially the area we live in bad poor neighborhood with people with no patience and in your face attitude when things don't go the way they want. you know the type those just itchy at the rage trigger finger. read more

I"m going out of my way to go to another store now. The clientele here is sketchy. Lots of grumpy, rude people that are not courteous. Like today, driving along, not in the crosswalk zone, two guys just saunter in front of my car making me slow down and taking their own time. In the store I've had several experiences where I've had to be careful, either of a person going there escalating in anger or other weird experiences. One day a parent was going off yelling at their kid in the middle of the ice cream isle. I recently stopped going in there at night because of things like this. You're worried about your safety.
