I had come in the store upon opening at 5am . I just have one issue the lady whom works at the register upon opening never wants to give cash back and makes a very unpleasant scene . Please give this cashier enough funds to give cash back their was a lady out of gas in your parking lot she had stated to me that the cashier in the store would not give her cash from her EBT although I had a gas can and helped her out but it's really ashame due to cash back is a service safeway provides and it deprives some homeless people from taking the bus. and it's truly sad because I know safeway supports the disabled and community needs.we do not put signs on your register and make a scene and embarrass one due to just need $20 cash back it's truly sad and then she talks about everyone and I really think thats very wrong. Be professionall and empathetic to others needs your a store for a reason not to deprive the public.. This is the note you get.

    Marble cake with strawberries

We got a birthday cake from them and it was a really good tasting cake! It was super moist and we loved that it was fresh strawberries inside. I actually thought it was going to be strawberry sauce or jam!! We got it with buttercream but I do have some things I'd change for next time. I'll be getting whipped cream even though I'm not a huge fan of either. The buttercream was good but it just got really hard after a night in the fridge. The only other bummer was that we made the purchase inline for a Mario kart cake with toys in top. We found out that they don't have any of the toys. Neither do the other 6 Safeways in the area. What???? So we had to settle at the same price for a print out Pokemon came. It still came out cute with his face but I had one sad kid that wanted the little toys. It also made for last minute running/calling around. The staff was really nice about helping us figure out what to do. We have also tried the tres leches cake at another friend's house and it was delicious! Way better than a lot of other grocery cakes!

Can you read the fine print ? ;)

Never park here ; there is a small sign that says when you leave the premise your vehicle will be towed immediately. Also , the premise only covers the 4 shops including Safeway and no other shops around that parking space . they tow the car if you ever happen to leave the premise for any reason and leave your car there even for few mins . I learnt this lesson after paying $$$ in towing . I spoke to Matt the property manager , morris towing company and the Santa Clara PD. None of them were helpful .

I went on to check it out because I needed a little somethin' somethin', and more than a decade later, I've been here at least twenty times and have even used its DriveUp & Go services a couple of times. For a suburban Safeway, it's on the smaller side, but it isn't small. The selection is very good for the size of the store. The parking lot can be a mess, but it's shared with other businesses, so that's not really Safeway's fault. The most annoying part of the store is familiar to supermarket goers everywhere: There's not enough room between the checkout stands and the aisles themselves, so while you're waiting to check out, you're blocking people who are trying to zigzag their way through all the aisles. But why am I focusing on the negative? The people who work here are always nice, and they always have everything I need. I often come here before I go to Costanoa; and the first time that happened, I picked up a very reliable, affordable, and lightweight flashlight from here. I've since bought at least five more flashlights from that company, although I haven't seen them here (I ordered the rest from the company website) since that first time. It can feel like a trek getting here, but I had this entire ritualized pattern that is now slightly altered because of a certain restaurant's lack of pinball machines. You probably don't know what I'm talking about, and that's fine. Oh, and when my friend Dan lived near here, which wasn't for very long, we came to stock up on pretzels and carrots before a night of Wiz-War, and I was shocked that it was the UPS Store Safeway, as I think of it--sort of. There might be another Safeway farther down Homestead Road, and that store isn't as good. I think/believe this because GPS once led me to a different Safeway, even though I had punched in Homestead Road. Speaking of the roads around here, the blocks are ridiculously long in this part of Santa Clara, so if you miss the parking lot, don't do the San Francisco right-right-right move. Just make a U-turn. I'm normally a right-right-right guy, but if you do that here, it will take you forever.

I swear,…read moreit's been years since I drive to a Walmart store to buy something, the full Walmart store is about 8-10 miles drive away, so it's never the first option I'd opt for when shopping. It was on a recent accidental trip that I found myself at this Santa Clara Walmart Neighborhood Market. It essentially is a larger size version of your typical supermarkets like Safeway or Lucky, except it's a lot more spacious & carry more grocery options. Due to its warehouse-like operation, the prices are slightly more affordable in general than those aforementioned stores; especially when things go on sales. For example, I scored a dozen maple glazed donuts for $4.69 (normally, $6.99, Dunkin or Krispy would have been more than $15. And if you take the time to look through each aisle, you may notice that they have some red stickers with significant markdowns, for example, a 10oz brown gravy mix normally $0.99-$1.39 elsewhere, it was $0.32, I got a whole bunch, it's perfect for my Canadian soul food - le Poutine, it works really well! And yes, the staff can be a hit or miss, depending on who you ask, but in general, they are pretty helpful, I never had problems. If there's a minor complaint, it's that you need the physical credit card to self-checkout, no GooglePay or Apple pay, etc, that's kind of pain in the you-know-where, but when I get my groceries with low prices, I'm really OK! In summary, it's been such a long time, I completely forgot that there's this Walmart Neighborhood Market within 2 miles of where I live. With dollar stores no longer offer DOLLAR items, some raised to $1.25, $3 - $5 in certain freezer items. it makes more sense to just drive here where they offer more choices at equal or better prices.

They had the usual array of nonstick pots, which don't work very well for me. They had a small but useful section for clay pots. I thought Amazon and AliExpress had overpriced clay pots, but I was wrong. These prices were significantly higher. I can only hope these are the best of the best. Checking up on 99 Ranch, I couldn't even find clay pots in there more limited kitchen utensil section. I ran across one item where knockoffs are ubiquitous. They've completely flooded AliExpress and you have to watch it with Amazon. Hankook had the authentic item and at significantly lower price than both Amazon and Aldi express. I found a tea section to be well stocked. I also recognize some of the tea brands. 99 Ranch has gone with lower cost options, but if you buy 6 ounces of tea, are you gonna be stuck with an enormous supply. Better to go with reliable brands that I have enjoyed in the past. I loved the produce section. It was nice and fresh. It also had wider selection of produce than other supermarkets. The store itself is stunning. The the aisles are spacious. The store is meticulously clean. The shelves are fully stocked. There were only about two items which were shopped out. The snack area and the frozen foods were even more interesting. It's obvious in those two sections that there were many more Korean brands. I should've tried some, but it's hard for me to resist snacks and there was a good chance that would finish the entire bag in one go. Better to skip it entirely. The parking lot for the supermarket is spacious. I had no trouble finding a spot even though I arrived in the late afternoon when everybody has gotten off work. I live about two hours away. And I am very jealous because there is no Hankook near me.

The "DISCRIMINATION" in this store is alive and well and (on camera) but the manager Jeff refuses…read moreto do anything about it. Let's see if we can find someone who will. The man over at boar's head had been mocking me for the past couple of years. This started when I was working as a doordasher. I asked a lady over the counter for some help and nobody wanted to assist. I asked again for the 2nd time politely and this guy screamed at my face and told me to stop asking the people over the counter for help. Not raise his voice, screamed at my face. I asked for a manager but nobody was available. Another employee walked with me to the counter and this guy just laughed at my face mocking me. I wonder if he would do that if I wasn't working for doordash. I sent the manager an e-mail and never got a response. This went on for a couple of years, this guy would always smile and laugh at me still mocking me to this day like i am not a customer. I've complained about this guy multiple times and everytime I was told there is nothing they can do because he's not a safeway employee. Another incident happened on the 24th of june last month. The last time I spoke to the manager complaining about this guy I was told that he was told to ignore me because that is all they can do. This idiot not only mocked me again, he even saluted. I waved my finger at him and said don't disrespect me and nothing else. This idiot started screaming and cursing at me on the top of his lungs in front of other employees and customers. He had the nerve to act like the victim when he's been mocking and disrespecting me for the past couple of years like i'm not a customer. The manager came and I told him what happened. I think he even saw the guy acting up while he was walking towards us. I told Jeff everything that happened and he accused me of "instigating" like cameras don't exist. He then gave me a speech of how nice the guy is and how everyone likes him and how he's known him for 10 years. He even said that reputation matters to him, discrediting me right away. I don't know how dumb you are Jeff but your experience with that guy from boar's head has nothing to do with my experience with him. I hope that's not difficult for you to understand. Jeff said there's no way this guy would ever do that when it literally just happened 2 minutes ago "ON CAMERA". Again I was told that there is nothing they can do and adviced me to ignore the guy after screaming and calling me a "mother effer" on camera. I also brought up my other previous complaints of discrimination. Employees being extremely rude to instacart and doordash shoppers. Refusing to help, walking away and refusing to bag groceries once an instacart shopper and a doordasher is detected. The employees actually fish for shoppers to not help them. They even watch instacart shoppers bag everything, refusing to assist no matter how long the line is. One time I had to help another fellow shopper because an employee just flat out refused to help. This discrimination happens all day everyday on camera. The crazy thing is, i'm still treated like shit when I shop because i'm already a known instacart shopper. Remember Jeff when I asked you what the difference is between "eff that guy" and "don't help them with anything because they are shoppers for instacart and doordash". You said nothing remember? I even pointed out to Jeff another employee and before I can finish he accused me of making it up and had another wonderful story for his employee. Jeff, what is so difficult to understand about the workings of a camera? Are you just avoiding evidence or just completely unaware of how cameras work? I mentioned this to you many times. Everything I said can be proven by your cameras. All our transactions are time stamped. Easily provable that discrimination is very rampant in your store and you refuse to do anything about it. This happens to hundreds, probably thousands of hardworking shoppers on camera. I like to repeat the word camera because maybe you're still confused about how it works. Just google it to avoid further confusion. I will try to contact your regional manager and Albertsons to find someone who wants to protect the store and not their shitty friends. I bet you didn't even report that incident to boar's head and swept what your friend has been doing to me and other shoppers under the rug.
