Avoid this location - Awful service and rude staff. I placed a delivery order through the official Safeway app at 11:00 AM for a 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM window. By 5:00 PM, my groceries still hadn't arrived. When I called the store, an employee named Perry was incredibly rude, refused to help, and blamed me for the delay, claiming I "chose DoorDash"--even though I ordered directly from Safeway. He even made insulting personal comments about my attitude. DoorDash confirmed the issue was on Safeway's end. When I called back, Perry was even ruder. While a manager named Mike finally stepped in to fix the order. This store has consistent service issues (including a botched pickup order just two days ago). I will not be using this location again. UPDATE So my groceries finally arrived at 5:30. The Doordash driver said Perry told him my order got neglected which was his fault. Yet he tried to blame me and Doordash. read more

I Always find the freshest produce here. I find so many sales on coffee and tea. One day blueberries were 99 cents a pack. If you stop in regularly, you find so many sales prices here. I like to stop in the Starbucks bar and it has a little seating area too. This Safeway is amazing read more

Went here twice as it was just opposite to our resort in Sedona where we stayed. Did not spent as such so much time and both the times used self checkout. This safeway is pretty decent. I'm not sure why it got such bad reviews. The organization is good, the aisles are wide enough. The prices aren't amazing but Safeway isn't known to be a cheap grocery store. We bought the prepared foods like the chicken and sandwiches and they were DELICIOUS. The staff were alright. Some seemed crabby and the ones I interacted with were friendly enough. They have a good selection of snacks and sodas (perfect for the visiting tourist). The bread selection was ok. I guess the bakery could use some upgrading. We absolutely prioritized this grocery store over the others in the area due to the variety and pricing. read more

Always great to still get a deal in a town where everything else is expensive. You can still add your deals to the app if you're a Safeway/Albertson's member. They have a large selection and you can make your own 6-pack of local beers near the deli/hot food section of the store. Grabbed some of those and some food for our Airbnb. Needed some groceries for our stay on the area so stopped in. Plenty of parking and easy entrance and exit. If you join their saver club you can save on your groceries and the cheaper prices are located on the pricing stickers for the items. We merely signed up via phone number online prior to checking out. When we checked out, we entered our number and were able to save. That simple! They have a deli counter that you can order hot foods including chicken and sides. You can get a bucket of chicken and Jo-Jo's (potato wedges - if you're like us and didn't know what a jo jo was) for $17.99. Get ready for long lines to check out though. read more

One person closest to me had her back to me and would not turn around and made a concerted effort to not look my way as she walked into the back area. I waited longer, she came back out but would not look at me or even acknowledge me in anyway. I finally just walked away and was so disgusted I just left the store entirely. First, the people are nice and the store is clean. However, Safeway favors their brands for many items over more popular and superior brands. Worst thing though is the "U-Save" digital coupons. These are useless. One needs to scan the item on the app to get the discount, BUT they don't provide decent WI-FI, so the app won't work. Or if by some miracle it does, something goes wrong at the checkout and it doesn't work. This must be intentional. Come on Safeway, step up! read more

My friend and I came here for snacks, sunscreen and some other toiletries while staying in Sedona. We found all the items we needed and then some for really fair prices. I also saw some take-away dinner and sushi that looked really good if you are in a hurry and need something to take on a hike or if you don't want to spend $$$ on dinner every night. Self checkout stations do not work; the prices rung up are not correct. At one point, all stations had flashing lights going. I could not get help. Twice I asked and the woman blew me off. After 1/2 hour of waiting, I had to get loud before she FINALLY helped me. This is unacceptable. I LOATHE this store. There is no one to help. The self checkout doesn't work.... absolutely impossible to buy your groceries here. The woman coukd not get things to ring up correctly. You have one checker processing customers. She appears to be a senior herself and could use some help. You have one employee assisting all the customers in the self checkout area. When your digital coupon system doesn't work right you can't get the discount you're entitled to. When I'm trying to check out bananas and you search for it on the display and that doesn't show as an option that is a problem. When your company is more concerned with making a dollar at the sacrifice of customer service then people should shop elsewhere if possible. read more

Just leaving the store. Negative: Used the bathroom and a store associate came in to use it after me. Long brown hair and young. She used the restroom, did not wash her hands, touched the door handles, and immediately went and hooked her arm on another coworkers arm after she left the room. then they walked into the back room. Hopefully this worker does not touch any of the food. Makes u weary of what you want to touch in the store after that. Positive: Older store associate at self check out was very nice. It was nice to have the variety available of pretty much everything we needed, but I felt that the prices were elevated even by Seattle area standards. We were in a rush so I ordered a Turkey, bacon, and avocado sandwich with all the fixings and requested that it be toasted. Good selection of items as usual, each aisle is clearly signed so I know where items are just by scanning the signs quickly, and there's a fresh seafood counter as well as a fresh bakery. The bakery didn't have chocolate chip bagels nor jalapeno cheese rolls though (but my experience is that some Safeways have that while some others don't), but it did have a quick-sale aka cheap older breads which I ended up grabbing and it still tasted great. TRASHING MY AREA in Sedona Arizona Summary: when spring began and I again walked to the gym in the morning I noticed the some of the same garbage from the year before on the side of Rodeo\Safeway side, Safeway bags, register receipts, store flyers, etc. that is occupying the no mans land between Safeway and our development. 6 Weeks ago and again 4 weeks ago I used the Citizens Connect app to report this garbage WITH PICTURES. Also note my complaint to you all 10 days ago and note this is not the 1st time Safeway has been made aware. Thank you for your help so far but you must know we are getting NO resolution. Conclusion: Per the City of Sedona Citizens Connect app response both times as of 4 weeks ago Quote: Property management and store management were contacted and a cleaning crew was sent out and cleaned up the area...There is no proof that Safeway is responsible for the trash...Sedona public works will check on the area on occcasion.. My response is this: If the same garbage is persisting + additional then how is this statement TRUE, it is FALSE. Anyone with eyes can see the same garbage persisting + additional. SO, once Safeway bags, register receipts, store flyers, etc. leave their property they do not care one whit about it and will not clean it up PERIOD! AND THE CITY AGREES with that. It is absolutely UNTRUE that they could have observed ANY of this garbage picked up as it is STILL THERE. If anyone cares to walk with me toward Safeway I will point it out. LAST POINT: I see some more garbage making its way up Rodeo so eventually the residents living ajacent Rodeo might make the same observation I have. A couple of times a month, I buy sushi which is excellent. Today, I asked the man who was making rolls (not the head guy) if he could please give me a couple extra soy sauces. He either couldn't hear me or he ignored me. So I repeated myself. There was another female worker standing near him who heard me but stood there and did NOTHING. Then another woman worker came by and asked what I wanted. I said I had asked for a couple of extra soy sauces. Then the woman who had ignored me reaches over and grabs 2 soy sauces and hands them to me saying she didn't "work in that dept" as if that's a good excuse to IGNORE ME. The other lady chimes in a says, please as if I hadn't already asked several times with please. Enough with the ATTITUDE Safeway workers! This Safeway is a fine spot to stop for snacks, beverages, or gas. We stopped here a couple of times during our visit, and our experiences were fine. On our second stop to this spot we walked inside to look for alcoholic beverages, but we couldn't find anything that peaked our interest, so we left empty handed. My significant other was treated horribly by "Store Mgr" Ethan. My gal is frail, gentle, kind, and has never been physically aggressive to anyone. Apparently, the self-checkout-no live available, was incorrectly pricing items. She complained and was told she was incorrect. She then went and checked the shelves to discover she was correct, so no one really ever checked anything. Then, she was accused of assaulting the cashier watcher. Ethan told her she could buy the items the way they rang up, or leave. If not, he would call the police. Naturally, she was not going to be over charged. She left and called the police to make a report. The officers declined to write an incident report. She and the police were told that the video of the "Assault" was not accessible. Really Safeway, you should be ashamed. Really ashamed. Btw, she's been a full-time resident of Sedona for nearly 30 years and has never been accused of any wrongdoing. She's a highly regarded member of the community. When I'm Sedona, monthly, I would shop there. As long as folks like "Ethan" are left in charge, you won't see me again. read more

Came on a FRIDAY night to grab some odds and ends. Lots of customers, one line open that had a cashier, and then the self check outs. It's like they purposely only had one person to force you to do self check out. Overheard that the self check out machines were just rolling out. It just doesn't make sense to wait that long, especially on a Friday night. There needs to be more staff to accommodate the customers. read more
