This Walmart is now selling chilled chicken that isn't fully cooked! When we confronted an elderly woman about it she threw a temper tantrum and insisted it was being fully cooked and refused to get a manager, but it's absolutely not. There was some blood this time! I took all the chicken off down to the bone to see just how bad it was. I called the corporate office and filed a complaint because it had to be thrown away and I'm not a fan of wasting food or money. Now we'll have to stop somewhere else for food since it's not safe to eat. read more

The ACC area was well stocked and manned. The cashier area was lacking staff but had a gentleman there alone working freight, answering phones, cashing people out, and helping customers find product they were looking for by himself. I would be proud to have him as my employee and know that he is a hard and capable worker. read more

First off the reason I'm even writing this review is that for 2 years straight everytime you order a cake for any special event/ day they always lose your order then when you go for the time requested for picked up they say we were about to call you but yet they tell you that they lost all of your information. 12:35 today I was exiting with my purchase. Apparently today there is a new policy. Everyone has to show their recipient as you exit the left door. I was there last night and that was not implemented. The women asked me for my receipt and I declined. There is no sign saying this; nor do I own a membership to Walmart. Had everything I was looking for about 30 minutes from Sedona and quick scenic drive thru Cornville.

This Walmart is super clean, it's huge, and has everything you need! It wasn't busy at all and most everyone seemed friendly! We stopped in here to get necessities while traveling through on our road trip. The store was very organized and we got everything we needed, and left in a jiffy! I'd recommend and I'd definitely be back if I ever make it out this way again! read more

I've even gotten a new battery for my truck in the automotive section that's still doing well. The greeters could be a bit more friendly but aside from that this place rocks. This review is for Walmart.com purchases. BEWARE! I was told that the defective item I ordered on their website is sold by another "seller" and Walmart will not refund my return. The seller has been non responsive and Walmart's attitude regarding my return is completely unacceptable. In my opinion, if I buy something on their website, then Walmart IS the seller. This location in particular sucks. They are constantly out of everything. Shelves are not restocked, variety is not good, crowded, lines to get out are ridiculous ( like most walmarts). People bring their dogs in often and are not being required to wear masks during covid! But the 1 hidden gem at this walmart is an employee named Grace. She works in fabric/craft area and is a fantastic, knowledgeable employee! After 3 different employees and a lead person, Grace came to the rescue with lots of help! A month or so later a manager not knowing where our item was called Grace to ask and we were again sent to her to leave her department and help us! Along the way she picked up all kinds of things to be restocked! From toys and crafts to real pumpkins! A rare gem indeed. I hope corporate takes note of how good you are. It's rare to have a Walmart worker offer to help, let alone know where things are. Great job Grace!!! read more

Not too much to say. It's decent priced compared to Sedona. It was fairly clean, but location isn't the greatest. Pretty ghetto and a lot of questionable people hanging around outside and near your cars begging for money. Seems to be a lot of left because the greeter wouldn't let anyone out of the doors without checking receipts. read more

How does a Walmart rate three stars, you might ask? Let me make it simple for you. We. Are. In. The. Desert. Walmart is an oasis we can count on, maybe 5 acres of housewares and groceries, electronics, trees and barbecues, a huge "drug store" section, and so on. The grocery department alone would rival a whole store in some towns. We come in here to look at TVs and wifi equipment, wind up buying housewares and groceries, and come back every few weeks. Yavapai County and Cottonwood do not require masks, but Walmart does, in a loose sense. Many customers get through the door with their masks on, but somehow don't seem to have them in the depths of the floor displays. Yet Walmart also sells masks, prominently, in huge displays in the main aisles. Thank you, I am wearing my own. read more

Went back a few days later to purchase other things and noticed in the clearance isle the item I purchased was on clearance. 8 days after the original purchase(between monsoons) I went back to be told to drive a half hr get the item to return the item ONLY to to purchase it, to receive refund amt. No where on the receipt does it say 8 day return policy. Spoke to a "manager" what a joke. Rude nausty and very unprofessional. Not the $ amt the principal. We in Cottonwood have no options for shopping except this dump--too many self-checks, poorly merchandised and no management on premise. Pharmacy is separate from store and seems a lot better but they often are understaffed. So in order to shop it's Prescott, Flagstaff, or Phoenix which at minimum is a 100 mile round trip. I went to Walmart twice in two days each day I go in there's a old white man at the door asking for receipts but he was only asking people of color each time I saw even though the person he asked bought one thing and the receipt was on top of his single item. Still got stopped. Did I get stopped even though I also had one item and my receipt on top? I did not and this has happed multi times. I used to work at Sam's club and I would get accused of being racist for asking for membership cards but the difference is I asked everyone. These people are not. I need to start looking at my receipts before I leave store. That's my fault. In the last few months I've visited store on Rodeo, the customer service is none. I have lost close to 20.00 because I was charged more for item than what was advertised. My previous issue I was charged for 2 cans of air freshener when I bought a double pack. There have been previous discrepancies before that. Yesterday Lil Miss Aspen must have just been promoted to a supervisor. She began telling me how I should talk to her associate? What? I was upset I was being over-charged AGAIN. I even told Sarah, this was not directed at you, but I want to speak with your manager. That's when I had pleasure of meeting Aspen; she needs to get some customer service skills. I was the customer, regardless of what Sarah told Aspen, Aspen should have asked my concern. Before me taking her over to the cherry tomatoes I was buying, she already had her mind made up. She said, I'm not taking 1.00 off for your inconvenience because tomatoes were marked correctly. Aspen was correct; my mistake seeing price UNDER item, like most your items are marked, made it look like they were 2.98 and not 3.98. These younger people who don't have respect need to look beyond her own nose. I could not hear comments Aspen and Sarah were making, but obviously about me. If Aspen is to continue in the supervisor position, she may need to be retrained. Coming into your store these days are a dread! read more

I had a terrible experience with a cashier at the check-out counter of the Walmart in Cottonwood. The cashier, "T---" was in a big hurry to check me out and filled up her spinner fast, then she started berating me in front of the other customers for not loading the bags into my cart fast enough (there was no one there to help load my cart from the spinner). I am pretty fast at loading my groceries onto the checkout counter, if I do say so myself, and I wasn't holding up the line in any way. When I told her I was "doing the best I could", she really lit into me, never once offering to help me fill my cart with the bags. It was one of the most embarrassing things I have ever experienced in my life. But it still wasn't over! My hands were shaking so hard, I didn't put my credit card in correctly so she yelled at me for that! She rejected my card and told me to go to the Customer Service desk to pay. My card worked just fine there. While there I also asked for the manager so I could put in a complaint about "T---". He said they were having a hard time finding workers so the complaint probably wouldn't make any difference. I will never go back to that Walmart. I have other options. read more

I can't really say I'm a fan of any Walmart but they are part of the new economic and even social paradigm that has replaced the small Mom and Pop shops of small towns and big cities. They have become the market place where people of many walks of life go for the everyday stuff we think we need and want. Whether it's food, beverages or even a bank, the Walmarts across America seem to have what people are looking for. The Cottonwood Supercenter is no different. In fact, it's probably the one place that is frequented by the greatest number of Verde Valley residents than any other business. Why is this so? It's because they have lots of stuff at a reasonable price that has respectable quality. Bang for the buck so to speak. Having lived in the Verde for nearly 30 years, I remember the days before the original, smaller Walmart was built. We had to go to Flagstaff or Prescott for big ticket items or to save a half a buck on a loaf of bread (which was more than eaten up by the cost of gasoline). Having one so close is a good thing despite all the bad press they get for not paying their employees enough or selling mostly "made in China" products. There's really nothing that sets this particular store apart from all the other Walmart clones across America. It is what it is. They provide a desirable outlet for services and retail and they probably will continue to do so for decades to come until something new and different comes along to displace them just like they did to the five and dimes we used to frequent. My only grip is they occasionally run out of products which is inconvenient and annoying. They also move things around from time to time which adds to the scavenger hunt like adventure. On a positive note, they're wonderful about returning or exchanging items and the people who work there certainly don't seen unhappy. I recognize several who have been there for years. read more

We had 2 carts totaling almost $700 worth of groceries (one cart was our personal groceries, the other was supplies for a camping trip for our non profit school we work at) and were forced to self scan our groceries at a small 2 bag self scan station. We asked if we could use the larger self scan station with the belt and more bags next to it and we were told no because "there wasn't enough employees". Not 2 mins into scanning our groceries, I look up and they opened the larger stations and had customers scanning their groceries literally right next to us. All of this while 3 employees stood around joking and flirting with each other while watching us. We did have one employee come over and offer to suspend our order and move us to the larger station after we complained, but at that point I didn't want to go through the trouble. Sam Walton used to help bag groceries and ring people up when Walmart started. He was at one of his stores when the power went out and he himself, along with his employees, were ringing up customers' orders by hand on paper, old school at the time, so that they could still leave with their purchases. He must be rolling in his grave at what his kids have turned Walmart into; all so they can have many mansions and mega yachts. And then the screen has the audacity to ask us to donate to charity?!?!?! A billion dollar corporation asking its lower income customers to donate money to charity after we have to scan and bag our own groceries because Walmart doesn't want to fork out the money for more employees?!!?!? Not a good look Walmart!!! Read the room...people cannot afford to donate to charity when they have to pay for your overpriced groceries, half of the containers we looked at today were damaged in some way and had to be sorted through to get a decent package, we have to scan our own groceries bc you don't want to pay affordable wages and have proper staffing, all so the Waltons can be billionaires and the richest people in the country. You're business model has turned to shit and you don't feel the need to change it bc the lower income people will continue to shop there no matter what; bc it's what they can afford. There's no incentive for you to be decent people and so you'll continue to take advantage of the lower class to support your lavish lifestyle and to sit on your money. It's sad that the only way to make corporations like you do what is right, is to instill on you a high tax rate, and offer you tax breaks to do what's right; like offer affordable living wages, schedule a certain number of employees to provide proper service, offer affordable priced goods to your customers by limiting the percentage you mark up goods, etc. You'll only get to the lower tax payment you want to pay by doing a, b, c, and d, which sucks bc you should be doing it regardless. Shame on you. Shout out to that guy who offered to help us after we complained that they opened the other stations after we asked and they told us no. read more

So I use the Walmart app and order 32 items. I get a timely response when my order is ready, however 13 common items unavailable. I check in and head to Walmart. I quickly breeze through the store and 10 of my 13 unavailable items are on the shelf. At this point I am beyond frustrated as I authorized substitutions. Place definitely needs an overhaul. Poorly stocked. Aimless moving of items to other aisles. Go to their website continuously for this exact location, and when item says it's on a certain aisle, it is never there. Have looked up several items over the last year, and never in its correct spot. Typical Walmart though, when you know they have that one simple item, you really don't want to go, but you know it will be quick and easy.
