I mean even with inflation these days I could get a tamale at most spots where I live for like half the price. I just told myself it's Sedona just except it lol so I went wild and got their extra special tamale with lots of topping to make it a more complete meal. I chose the chicken mole for my filling. I also got their dairy free horchata. First thing the horchata was delicious! Creamy, great texture, not to sweet, seasoned just right. Extra points for being dairy free as milk is not my bodies friend. The tamale however was a major let down. I was so close to just sending it back, but was on a time crunch and starving. The masa was so salty. The mole sauce was barely existent and had no complexity or flavor really. I didn't taste the chocolate or the Chile . Just blah. The toppings and horchata helped make it possible to consume despite the saltiness. So overpriced salty tamale gets 2 stars, ambiance 5, and horchata 5, which is why this place gets a three stars overall. I wanted to love this spot so bad, and maybe it was a bad day, or the wrong thing to get...but their name is literally tamaliza. Their tamale should have rocked my world.

She was friendly, welcoming, and truly made our visit memorable. The market has an amazing selection of hot foods and desserts, and everything we tried was delicious. Well we did not trust that option and it did not seem anyone did because every cart was there and all shoppers were taking the regular small carts. Just like all standard food chains they have their deli with cooked foods, cheeses, meats, cold cuts, sandwiches already made as well. They had a good size produce department , still selling all lettuce that has been on the news with its issues . No signs about purchasing the ready made bags of lettuce just like nothing is going on. They had an entire department for Wines and liquor that was very nicely laid out as well. Prices here are much higher. After finding everything we needed we went to the cashier open. I asked her, are many people using those shopping carts that ring up all the groceries? She replied? No, our manager here is a tech nerd and does not understand our demographic, she then went on to explain that she wished they would work because she hates her job because she's not a people person and does not like to talk to people and she would be more than happy to loose her job. We always enjoy brunch here, and I had some of the best chilaquiles I've ever had. Their croissants are another must-try, especially with that yummy butter sauce. They also have infused alcohol drinks that look really good. I don't drink liquor often, but I have to admit, they looked tasty nonetheless! The outdoor seating in the back has an amazing view, so try to snag a table back there if you can. Pro tip: Come here after a hike, make a reservation, and request a table out back.

Today, I got to try the Apple Cider Elixir from Oak Creek Apple Company and the taste is so YUMMY! Why hadn't I realized I can get the benefits of vinegar without the awful taste sooner? It was like sipping a pleasant cider. I also got to try a few of their creams which have pain reducing benefits. Will definitely be back.

This is one of my must visits in Sedona…read more We initially found them during the ridiculous worldwide sickness days during a road trip escaping the tyranny of California. They were a much needed respite, who were reasonable, understanding and didn't need a bunch of unnecessary rules. Their offerings are outstanding and just what I would be offering if this were my cafe. Great chocolates, great drinks, great atmosphere, super people that work there and are engaging. Each time we've been back in town we've visited and brought our friends. Truly an oasis in the desert.
