My Mama and I went to this store and I was totally amazed at the way the employees were there to help. I am disabled and was offered a scooter by one of the employees. Then the GM, her name is Jay, helped us get our groceries from the time we went in until we were done shopping. Jay also noticed that my Mama needed to sit down, she brought my Mama a chair and a glass of water, sat with her until she knew that she was feeling better. Thank you Jay for being so kind!! I just was in this store and was checking out at self checkout, I had meat from the deli that wasn't scanning, so I went and asked a worker for help, mind you she was just standing there and was free to help me. When I asked her, she told me another worker would be with me after she finished with another customer, when the girl I asked was not busy and perfectly fine to help me. I waited 10+ minutes for this other worker to help me while the other worker (willow) was just standing there twiddling her thumbs watching me struggle. I will NOT be coming back here and will take my service up to Walmart. read more

I was able to pick up a prescription from my AZ pharmacy in Trinidad. The store is well stocked with helpful employees.

Be prepared to not have a shopping cart available, management needs to invest in more shopping carts. The number of times I've walked in and found no shopping carts available is ridiculous, and no, the corrals in the parking lot had very few carts in them, they simply don't have enough carts. And they seem to have gotten rid of hand baskets. Also if you make a tiny mistake at self checkout and need an associate to come over to help void something you will be ridiculed, and called an idiot. If I didn't despise Walmart I would be taking my business there. read more

I don't have anything nice to say about the team member that "helped" me. Kinda rude and condescending. Didn't understand that there is a much larger competitor just up the road that people (like me)can go to that will not tolerate that type of behavior. I'll never come back. I stopped in here before walking around the downtown area to use the restroom and grab a coffee. It took 20 minutes for a starbucks employee to acknowledge me. There was an employee in training, which I can be patient for. However, I do expect an acknowledgement. My coffee on the other hand tasted great and the employee in training was incredibly nice. As for the Safeway, the store is very dirty. Half of the patrons in the store weren't wearing masks even though it is state mandated. The bathroom is located at the end of aisle 6, past their storage room next to freezers. Talk about uncomfortable as a female by herself. I would recommend having a clearer path for customers and cleaner environment. No grocery establishment I have been in has been set up this way. read more

Nephew went into trinidad store to buy food for his son didnt know ex wife was there she went to manager said he was harrasing her without even looking at security camera told nephew to leave . Had tgey looked at camera they would have seen she approached my nephew . Called coporate but nothing done got laywer this store is a disaster be careful going in this store. Waited for 10 minutes before I had to ask the gentleman who stands up front watching people and brushing his beard. He had seen me there but offered no help. When I asked for help he said oh they are closed. After watching me and brushing his beard for 10 minutes he finally tells me that. I told him it was rather disgusting and unsanitary to be brushing your beard instead of helping customers. He told me to go shop at Walmart. I will be contacting corporate and HR. They need to separate the pharmacy for reviewes. The store isn't bad, but the pharmacy is ALWAYS hit or miss. There were 3 female employees as I went to get my Rx. 2 of the 3 were rude as all get out. If you don't know how to treat customers don't work in customer service. I'm tired of people thinking they can treat others however they think they can-they need a reality check. read more

Pros: Produce department is greatly improved & will special order. Kudos to having Copper River salmon when in season. Double kudos to having fresh, tasty oysters on the half shell last year. Customer service friendliness has improved. Cons: Seafood department is lacking, at best might have farmed salmon, tilapia and catfish. "3's a crowd" is a joke; not nearly enough check staff Customer service is not always attended. read more

This is a review for the impressive Safeway pharmacy. I was traveling and had a medical situation for which I needed a rare medication not kept in stock by most pharmacies. Tiffany was an absolute gem in helping me get the meds I needed. She called other pharmacies in the area. She set up an order for my Drs. script and then transferred it to the next town on my itinerary which had a Safeway pharmacy. Tiffany was so pleasant and was dedicated to help me get what I needed. What a lovely experience at a troubling time! My gratitude to this lady is deep. She was a tremendous, compassionate professional. read more

Stopped here for a potty break and because I had a feeling there was a Starbucks inside. Bathroom was in the way back of the store and was exactly how you'd expect a grocery store bathroom to be. Dirty and kinda stinky. Whatever. Starbucks guy was very nice and made me a chai quickly and correctly. Not that hard to screw this one up :) Parking lot is adjacent to a gas station and has an oddly placed curb separating the street from the parking lot. read more

DO NOT STOP HERE FOR THE BATHROOM!!!!!!! A literal biohazard. There's only one bathroom and it's absolutely disgusting and unusable. I cant imagine any establishment ever being okay with having a bathroom this dirty. There were feces all over the toilet seat, actual toilet, wall, toilet paper, everywhere. Not to mention this is the bathroom all of the workers and Starbucks employees are using and then stocking/making your food & drinks. Rule one for eating out around here is don't try to get directions from a local place, they give them as tho you lived in town one hundred years. Use a map or the hotel staff and a map, or go before dark sets in. Rule two--don't bother if Valentine's falls on a Monday, even 6:45 is too late. Rule 3--the Safeway has very extended hours because this place can get very dead and it is very hard to find the newest open hot spots on the web. You might want to ask around as soon as you get into town. I'd say ask at breakfast if you can. Thank goodness Safeway, center of town, a couple of blocks from the BW, has a "prepared" meals section and it was not yet closed right about seven. I got three salads and fruit. Sorry to say, one of them gave me the runs the next morning. Happy Valentine's Day. read more

Seemed that every isle had boxes being unpacked stocking shelves making it difficult to get down the isle. Then went to have a sandwich made and was informed that there were pre made sandwiches on the shelf I didn't want a pre made sandwich , i was then informed that they had only two breads. This is in a grocery store right but nevertheless I said that would be fine . I was then told there were no pickles. So if you have a place that sandwiches are made would it not make since that you'd have the ingredients to actually make sandwiches. The sandwich making area was a mess,mayo not being refrigerated but sitting on the counter along with the large box of lettuce that was where the lettuce for my sandwich. If you don't want to make sandwiches then don't offer freshly made sandwiches . read more

DO NOT COME IN HERE!!!!! Filthiest bathroom I've EVER experienced. Door doesn't lock, I had people constantly walking in on me, NO HANDSOAP whatsoever, bathroom smelled like diarrhea, filthy floor and sink hasn't been washed in ages. How is any of this OK for a Safeway bathroom?!? Yes, this town is total trash, but SafeWay is a chain and has to have some corporate standards. I related my concerns to Assistant Manager Marilyn and she didn't seem phased or cared at all. Just don't stop here. Go to the next town or rest area. read more

When in the day to drop off a prescription at 12 was told by the young lady that it would be ready in an hour waited for hours went back still not ready was told by the employee that her boss told her to tell everybody that would be an hour complain to the manager he didn't seem to care very much told him how I was going to call corporate still didn't care pharmacist quoted the employee stating that she was told by her supervisor to lie to the employee or to lie to the customers face as they came up great store great service great great great LOL read more

I visited the store yesterday and went to the deli. There was one clerk in the cooler working and one clerk in the back preparing fried chicken. After being ignored for a while I asked to be waited on. The clerk with the chicken was very nice but she just changed gloves and started slicing my ham with the dirty apron full of chicken blood and raw breading. I worked in the food industry. This is unthinkable. I didn't know what to say after interrupting the lady, but I sure don't want that ham, either. The sad thing is this is our only grocer besides Walmart. I live near Trinidad so I shop here frequently. It's always a hassle though. Their system of coupons and aps is a nightmare. The ap messes up my phone and I am always having to ask for the coupon price because it rarely rings up correctly. It's a lot easier just to go to Walmart because their marked prices ring up correctly. Walmart doesn't have sales but their regular prices are lower than Safeway's regular prices. When Safeway has a sale it's good, but you have to beg them to get the sale prices. It's that way on purpose, kind of a bait and switch deal. read more

The most disgusting store in the entire franchise. Employees are miserable and they take it out on the customers by lack of care, courtesy, and assistance. Space is too small and cardboard displays create bottle-necks throughout. Often difficult for two shoppers to negotiate a cart around each other. Displays placed at end to conveyor belt check out prevent shopping carts from getting close, so customers must pick up each item and reach over top of the display to place it on the conveyor belt. Verbal complaints about conditions are met with a smile and a thank you and no action is taken to resolve customer issues. Oh what I would give for a King Soopers or a City Market. read more

The lousiest Safeway I ever set foot in. Empty shelves, long lines. Thought I'd get a breakfast burrito yesterday at 830am but the Deli wasn't even opened yet, asked an employee what time they opened and they said they're open now. I said nothing is stocked in the warmer and nobody is there. The employee just shrugged so I went to get a candy bar for breakfast, almost every isle was completely empty of bars and none that I liked were stocked. So I ended up waiting in a long line for breakfast 'Doritos'. Place always seems short staffed, but here's the kicker; the tellers are really nice, it's the management I always here being rude, especially to their staff. Place is obviously horribly miss-managed. read more

Bathroom was up stairs in the employee break area. was weird but you make do. didn't turn negative until I witnessed two seemingly managers yell at a younger employee for asking for time off for schooling. she told them she needed time off and had put it on a board requesting but they continued to belittle and talk down to her in a way that made me very uncomfortable to watch on. employees shouldn't be subjected to have their customers in their own break room and the disrespect the managers showed to their employee was hard to watch. rest of the store seemed fine, but I saw these same two employees yell at another customer for asking for a monopoly ticket after her daughter had forgotten to get one. not satisfied with their customer service read more

Yvette, the cashier for express checkout, is rude. I was in next in line. I pushed the milk forward so I could sit my things down. She pushed them back and said wait a minute. I said ok. Then I put my coupon down with my things when there was room. She picked it up and said it will go under the belt. I took it back and sat it on top of my things. She picked it up and said it will go under. And tried to hand it back to me again. I told her to just sit it somewhere. She then responded with "Jesus Christ" and I told her "now you're using the Lord's name in vain. I've over heard her saying to another customer "people think she's mean". I hope she retires soon or gets some customer service training. Everyone else has been nice and helpful. read more

This is a very nice store but lately the 80/20 hamburger is terrible. There are little hard things in it like bone and yesterdays was very fresh but had a taste to it. Don't know what has gone wrong. read more
