Nightmare from beginning to end. I fell in love with a 2018 Ford Edge. Went ahead and got preapproved for an estimated amount so I could stay ahead of the game. Took the vehicle for a test drive which went well. I did notice some blemishes but the salesman told me they would take care of that for me for free if I bought the car. Negotiated and went in to close the deal. I got the price I wanted and they even added in some kind of cosmetic package! As I was signing papers, I noticed that the carfax was for another Ford Edge. I was being financed for the wrong car..... Salesman steps away to "find out what my payments are". He shows back up maybe 10 minutes later with the car I thought I was purchasing priced at list price with an added warranty! I asked for a lower price, steps away for a few more minutes and just takes off the warranty. After 2 hours of going back and forth, I end up just taking the car home. Had to put gas in the tank to get back from work since there wasn't enough. I get to the dealership to try to close the deal again. I sign all the papers. Made sure he was aware that I did not want a warranty and I did not want to be sold anything else. I step into finance to sign more paper work. First thing I go to sign... the odometer is wrong. Next.... he tries to sell me a warranty but I immediately I told him I wasn't interested. He says "I still have to spend 5 minutes going over the warranty". Even has the nerve to tell me when he's gotten to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. I felt pressured into getting this warranty. I should have been able to say no with no problem. Instead I ended up having to call my grandmother to get a clear recommendation. After signing for the warranty he tells me that the edge had electrical problems but I would have walked out if he told me that. Thanks to him.. I have this nice expensive warranty which I'll be running up there with a gift to thank him if I have to use it. Now for the GRAND FINALE.... they only fill the tank up 1/4 of the way full. The salesman kindly let me know that he got in trouble for filling it up 1/2 since I put $5 of my own money in it. Oh and a little advice.... Don't ask someone how old their boyfriend is and then comment that he's your age with a look on your face. It's rude... Never again. read more

I have purchased 3 cars from this dealer in 1-1/2 years. I almost purchased a 4th today. The service department is super. The sales and financing staff in my opinion is terrible. The first car, new Pasat, delivered to us with a dent in the roof. Lucky we noticed it before departing the dealer. Second car, the engine compartment full of leaves and sticks, appeared to never been opened for delivery routines. Third car we were deceived regarding a purchased maintenance agreement on it and the second car. Of course the financing ace that sold us on it is long gone, they couldn't even produce the paperwork showing us the agreement the financing person had to sell us on the product. They are being difficult in righting the situation. Making it very difficult to obtain a refund for the agreement and trying to "prorate" something not used. My next set will be VW America and then court if I am not satisfied. JUST BEWARE. read more

Unless your having warranty work done you would have to be mad to take your car here. I recently replaced a faulty electrical sensor attached to my engine for $85 and 15 minutes of my time. What was Brown's price for the same job? OVER $500! This is why they call them "stealerships" folks. read more

She was polite, Very knowledgeable, and was able to explain the information about the service coupons (as I haven't needed to use them yet) and some coupons I received in the mail I knew my car was in good hands,one less thing to worry about. And she called me after about 2 hours, that my car was ready and answered all my questions over the phone. I was there shortly after and (the other womank there, I don't remember her name) she explained my invoice to me, where my car was. I was in and out in 10 minutes. We bought a used VW in March. The sales men were all dressed sloppily and weren't welcoming or professional. The finance rep told me I have no credit score. I told him I do, and it is the higher of the two (my husband and myself). I told him he incorrectly typed my SSN. He refused to input it again in my presence. That night I pulled my credit score on all three bureaus and there my score was, and still the higher of the two. He got quiet and short when we refused the warranty, which was the same amount as our used car!! Well, only 33.4 miles into driving it, the check engine light came on. 40 miles into driving it the front passenger side wheel wobbled upon accelerating. I was so mad, as I bought this vehicle to transport my two kids (who are both under two). I took it to a local mechanic as I did not trust VW. $2700 later, we have a safe vehicle. The mechanic said they did such poor work, with extremely cheap parts, "fixing" all the things that VW said they replaced or fixed, that VW caused to much more damage to the vehicle. The wheel was very loose, and unsafe. Leaks everywhere. Replaced so many other things. So disappointed. I should have known just by their disheveled appearances and lack of service that I was buying a lemon. Just so thankful my kids were not harmed while I was driving it. STAY AWAY from this dealership!!!!! read more

My 2006 Beetle went in for AC issues. I dropped it off knowing the coolant levels were perfect and in fact it would cool somewhat at 2500RPM. Come to find out the compressor valve is the issue being clogged up. Get this - they cant order just a valve because its not in the system. WHAT? I mean seriously I can find valves all over the city. So they want to charge $1000 to replace the compressor instead. They could not give me the model number of the compressor so I could find it myself so I got to get my car. I paid $185 for a leak test basically. When I get the car back I noticed the airbag light stayed on - figured it would reset maybe no big deal. Well I go down the road and get home and realize it didn't cool at all anymore. I waited the next day since I had to work and wouldn't you know it the large plastic guard under the car came off hanging by one screw because they didn't put it back secure! That could have flew off into someones windshield and hurt them bad. Alsdo I put my coolant gauge on the AC and it was almost all in the red showing overcharge. The compressor had went into shutdown mode. So today after taking it in they fixed the airbag light and cover but now say the coolant is OK its the valve that finally decided to shut off completely ironically. Nope I don't believe this at all. Take your car there for complicated issues and you will see what I am talking about. I mean do they have kids from high school working on these cars now? Where are all the good mechanics now? They could at least have refunded half what they charged me since they did nothing but make it worse! read more

OVERCHARGED AND THE HEATER PROBLEM STILL ISN'T FIXED! I took my 2014 VW Jetta TDI on 9/21/15 because my heater quit working they called back and said your the water pump is not working. So they changed that and my timing belt and changed me $1,707.74 So they way overcharged me for Labor which was $1,024.00. We asked to see the water pump "that the impeller was breaking apart" and they couldn't find it!!! So I called and talked to other dealerships and asked them how much it costs to change the water pump and since they were changing that the timing belt along with it.. They all told me $800 - $900. But still my heater is not working at all!!! I also think the reason why they overcharged me is because it was supposed to be covered under extended warranty... and come to find out the extended warranty turned it down and didn't pay. So I had to pay the $1,707.74 out of my pocket. Even called and tried to talk to service depart supervisor and left multiple voicemail's and STILL Waiting on them to call back to discuss this matter!! read more

After a year of research and test driving many different cars, I bought a vehicle from Brown's VW and was happy with my purchase at the time. I've had the car nearly 2 years now and it's performed fine. I recently took the vehicle in for service, paid near $750 for 4 new tires and a 30,000 mile service which included the oil change after I was talked into it. I noticed before I got in my vehicle to leave that they must have kept a 50lb bird in the back because I have never seen so much crap on my car(that they didn't see and we're going to return the vehicle to me that way), I noticed it and the guy cleaned it off. I also noticed that the oil indicator light was not reset and the fluids were not topped off. A sure sign of half ass service! I have called several times to speak with the service manager to express my dissatisfaction and have not received a call back. It's been 2 weeks. The fact is, I DO NOT TRUST this dealer to to a quality job and I WILL NOT be purchasing another vehicle from them. In today's day and age, this level of service is standard and that's so very sad. I hope the GM and the owner of Brown's VW read this review VERY carefully and make some quality control changes IMMEDIATELY. read more
