So thankful my out-of-town friend stays in the area (well, actually, it's not that close by, but we were blissfully unaware of the fact when we searched Yelp for breakfast and this place popped up on the listing), so we get to try this place. During Sunday brunch time the wait can be long, and the service a little slow, but once the food arrives, all misgivings are forgotten. Before you order the food, get yourself some coffee. They serve really nice coffee here, not brown water. What's more, they have brown sugar cubes, individually wrapped! That alone deserves one star!! Now, for the food - I'd say this is the best crepe restaurant in S Florida. They have a really nice selection of both savory and dessert crepes, as well as some waffles. I recommend checking their online menu, which shows pictures of every dish, making it easier (or harder, maybe) to make your selection. I highly recommend their savory crepes (or should I say galettes?). All the ones I've tried are a solid 10/10, with well balanced of flavor. The beef in Cusco (lomo saltado in crepe) is a bit tough, I'd suggest going with shrimp or chicken. Also, why do they use turkey bacon instead of the real thing?? I can also recommend Monaco, a light, fluffy omelette made in a waffle maker. For dessert, they have quite a few mille crepe cakes. Some of the selections are not on the menu, you can check out their cake case to see what is available. I was excited to try them, but unfortunately, I've tried Lady M and Saffrano's doesn't quite measure up. The crepe here is perfect for the savory crepes, but when you make a mille cake, it becomes too thick and hard. You can compare the photos I took with one from Lady M; here the crepe is thicker than the cream. Well, that's a harsh comparision, Lady M is a high benchmark, but I do hope they can improve on their cake here. Moreover, we weren't able to tell that the Veneto is supposed to be Tiramisu, as it has no coffee flavor. I will likely skip dessert or order waffle next time, but will definitely be back for the savory crepes. read more

I guess eye contact and basic professionalism were out of stock or at least a problem for our server Brant. If you want to enjoy your meal without feeling uncomfortable maybe go somewhere else, don't bring your girlfriend/ wife, or go when Brant isn't there. Found this hidden gem and couldn't be happier about it. I was on a date day with my daughter and she wanted crepes. We were in the area and Saffrano Crepes popped up. I thought this was the type of place you order at the countertop and pick up your food. Turns out it's a super cute little restaurant with full service. The decor is has a Parisian feel with tones of aqua or Tiffany blue. Very calming feel when you walk in. Our server Valeria took good care of us and was very sweet. Everything on the menu looked delicious so it was hard to choose. We got the Osaka (smoked salmon, cucumber, sour cream, avocado, chives, sweet-spicy sauce) and Veneto (tiramisu crepe cake with chocolate ganache). I also snagged a Dalgona coffee, because not many places offer this. Dalgona coffee was made to perfection with a super thick and foamy whipped topping. Nice bitter bite with a touch of sweetness. So good. Our Osaka dish came out and the presentation was cool. Loved the rolled salmon crepe display. Tasted even better as that crepe wrap was nice and thin. The salmon was fresh and cold to the bite. Dude. My daughter really loved this dish. It wasn't too heavy which worked out nicely since we saved room for the tiramisu crepe cake. Oh man, the tiramisu crepe cake was smooth and creamy and tasted like pure heaven. At the end of lunch, another staff member stopped by our table and I asked if she was the owner. Wanted to tell her how much we loved this experience. Her name was Louisa and she is the best friend of the owner. Louisa gave us the backstory of how the store got started. It's a cool story. Ask about it if you ever get a chance to swing by here. We loved this new find and my daughter even said she wants to come here for her birthday with the whole family. My boyfriend and I stopped here for a quick Valentines Day dessert after work and boyyyy were we SO glad we did. We came 15 min before closing and were afraid we weren't going to get served, but the manager was so sweet and insisted we come in and have dessert. We were seated immediately and honestly were so surprised to see how busy the restaurant still was. The dessert was DELICIOUS. We were hoping to try the hazelnut taco thing but they had just ran out, so we chose the strawberry Nutella waffle instead and it was so good. The bananas, strawberries, and pistachios were a perfect addition and the waffle was hot and toasty. They also had a seasonal red velvet dessert, which is next on my list to try. Saffrano Crepes is delicious. It is hidden in a corner next to a barber shop in a Walmart Plaza but it is a gem. They have delicious coffee and make it numerous ways. You can have a coffee shake, latte, espresso, cappuccino, etc. Regarding food, the crepes are fantastic. They have a great breakfast one with eggs, corn, etc. my favorite crepe is Churrasco steak. The only thing for me is that the majority of the food is sweet. I am more of a savory guys. Service is great and everyone is welcoming. Let me tell you, that's not something that happens every day, and moreover is whether I am or not inclined to agree with this rating. THE VERDICT: Yes, yes, yes. FIVE STARS ARE ABSOLUTELY MERITED. I won't be the one to bring this rating down. I had had this creperie on my list for what seems to be forever. I honestly didn't know when I would check it out, but this past weekend I killed two birds with one stone. I tried the creperie and I got to practice my French there. The group of us five ladies went to town with a variety of crepes, because seriously, how could we not? The location is absolutely lovely, perfect for photos. We ordered three types of savory crepes and one dessert crepe. Have to forewarn you - unless you have a monstrous appetite like Godzilla, please stick to one crepe. Seriously. Otherwise you'll end up taking the majority, IF NOT ALL, of the crepe home. Four types of crepes were ordered: 1) Marsella: This was the popular one. Three of the five of us ordered this. It was essentially chicken and mushrooms in a white wine sauce. Definitely recommend to get a spoon for the leftover sauce. 2) Marrakesh: One of five of us opted for this delight of grilled shrimp, curry, spiced couscous, mango chutney, and avocado - plenty of it on top in fact. 3) Acapulco: This was my dish. It came with ground beef, pico de gallo, fresh cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. I got it with everything minus sour cream. It was quite hearty. 4) Boston: Dessert crepe consisting of chocolate batter, brownie, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate sauce. A chocoholic's dream and perhaps too much. All that said, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices provided (and then some, as apparently, they also do waffles, coffee, and who knows what else). This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Plantation. What it lacks in scenic views, the cuisine more than makes up for this 100 fold! Plus, they had mimosas! What a disappointing experience, from the food to the service. I really don't understand how they managed to scoop a 4 and 1/2 star rating--just bizarre. The place was almost empty when we arrived. There were two servers attending to six people, that included my husband and I. We were seated for at least ten minutes before we were given a menu. During this time I noticed that the two waitresses were often sitting idly, chatting amongst themselves, or moving about lethargically. Their apathetic demeanor remained unchanged throughout the evening. Again, so bizarre. When our food arrived it was a real let down. The curry sauce was bland and tepid, the chicken was dry and tough, and the crepe was cold. We ordered dessert hoping that they couldn't possible fail there. We were wrong. I noticed my husband grimacing half way through his first bite. He said there was something wrong with the ganache. He was right. It tasted off. It had a strong metallic/sour taste. When we mentioned it to the waitress she went back into the kitchen to talk with the kitchen staff. She said they all tried it and agreed that it had a strong taste but didn't offer any explanation nor compensation. As far as the ambience, it was pretty meh. It tries to be charming and cute but it lacks originality and soul. Also, it looks like it's been in need of some maintenance for quite a while--the menus are falling apart, the ceiling is not much better, and the windows look like they are in need of a good cleaning, etc. And to boot, this place was not cheap! I don't even know where to start with how amazing everything was. I wish I had tried this place sooner! It is decorated so nicely, an instagram foodie paradise with the photo ops. Anthony, our server, was knowledgeable, explained the menu in depth and gave great recommendations. I tried the signature sweet crepe with strawberry, banana, Nutella, pistachios and homemade vanilla ice cream. It was so amazing, fresh and flavorful. My husband got the Nashville chicken and waffles, which had a good spicy, sweet flavor. The iced pumpkin latte was also delicious. This place is a very well deserved 5 stars all around. Where to even begin! So many wonderful things to say about this spot. When you first walk in you get this welcoming vibe and the decor is absolutely beautiful. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The place is so well kept and clean. They constantly clean after each customer leaves a table which I loved to see. The food!! Wow!! I was blown away with the flavors! I'll be honest I never have tried a savory crepe but now I officially am a fan! We tried the Marsella and Cusco, both were phenomenal! the Steak in the Cusco was so tender and flavorful. The sauce used in the Marsella with chicken and mushrooms was out of this world. They have so many delicious options, something for everyone! Oh and their desserts are so mouthwatering. We had the Buenos Aires and Farigliano. I was checking on Yelp to find a good breakfast place to try out and happen to find Saffron Crepes. It was nearby and decided to check this place out based on the reviews and pictures. Place is located in a shopping plaza. A few tables outside and also had some tables inside. It was pretty pack around noon and had a few people in line ahead of us. As we placed our order, we had to wait for a little while for our food to come out. Many items on their menu from sweet crepes to savory. We ordered the New York waffle top with benedictine poached eggs, turkey bacon, and chives. The turkey bacon was tasteful and cooked perfectly. Everything blended well together. I also ordered the Farigilano which is a crepe dessert with nutella, banana, strawberry, pistachios, and vanilla ice cream. Very fresh fruits and filling. The ice cream to the crepe was a nice touch, also the crunch from the pistachios. I got the iced caramel latte, it was decent but, the caramel was sitting at the bottom and the consistency didn't mix with the coffee. Great place minus the long wait time. Currently doing my clinical rotation in the area and decided to come check out the spot that's close by. I was actually interested in the lomo saltado crepe plate so that's what i got it and it was definitely interesting because I'm used to eating this dish with rice and french fries. With the crêpe it was a little messy to grab it with the steak but the seasoning was on point. I know I'm in the minority here but I didn't have a good experience. I was getting my hair cut in the area and stopped in after to have breakfast. I had this place bookmarked forever and I was really excited to try them. They are located in a strip mall and the decor is very cute. I love crepes and they have an interesting concept. They offer crepes and waffles both sweet and savory and they are named for different countries around the world. The space is small and there isn't a lot of seating, only a few tables inside and out. I had to wait in a really long line to order. There is no table service. As I was waiting I would see a table open up only to see it get taken by someone behind me who had multiple people in their party. I couldn't hold a table since I was alone. By the time I was able to order there wasn't any seating for me. I asked what my options were and was told I would have to take it to go. I should of walked out but I ordered a cup of coffee and the Stockholm cinnamon roll waffle to go. When I got home the coffee was awful and tasted burned. The waffle was also burned. After two bites I ended up tossing it. If I could have eaten here I would have sent it back. I was so disappointed in their food, indifferent staff, and poor seating options. Is this my next dukedom?! It just might be. What a cute little spot!! Found this great little spot on Yelp and had to come and check it out for myself. Came to Saffrano this morning for a little girls day brunch and I was just so impressed with how cute the decor was. We were greeted by Jordan up front and she was just so helpful. We explained it was our first time and she walked us through their menu and having already taken a look on Yelp we were all pretty hooked on their New Yorker waffle. As you can see in the pictures, we all got it. The waffle itself was just so fluffy! Topped with a perfect poached egg and turkey bacon that was crispy and added that bit of saltiness to the sweetness of the waffle. The waffle is served with a side of syrup and whole lot of deliciousness! It was awesome! There was definitely no leftovers here. My sister enjoyed a cappuccino and my girlfriend had their Palm Beach smoothie. All very good. To top it off we got to meet just the sweetest and proudest Mama ever! Her son and daughter-in-law own and cook at the restaurant and she was just a pure delight! We enjoyed chatting with her and she was just as sweet as can be! If you have COVID on the brain I will let you know that at all cdc guidelines are in place to keep customers and employees safe during this time. Tables are separated, masks are required, and hand sanitizer is available to guest. I've already told my husband that we have to come back and taste their lunch menu. They got their start just before Covid struck, so the fact that they are going strong tells you something. I had the Marsella, with grilled chicken, mushrooms, in a creamy white wine sauce. We loved it, but their were plenty of other savory crepes to choose from. For our sweet crepe choice we went with the Monte Carlo. Since it was a crepe suzette, why not call it that? Regardless what you call it , you do want to order it. The crepe was light, buttery, with orange and wine notes. A dusting of powdered sugar completed the dish, both enhancing the look and the taste. Also, it came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that tasted home made, and qualified as decadent. We had the coffee, but it was not memorable. Next time we will go with one of their espresso based coffee choices. All in all, the breakfast scene in Plantation has a great new addition in Saffrano Crepes. read more

This is such a cute spot! I really had trouble deciding what to choose from because they all sounded amazing!! For my drink I got the caramel iced coffee and the Sydney crepe. They were both sooo delicious! The crepe was made into this super cute flower and so I love the creativity and presentation for that. As far as the flavor, it was 10 out of 10 because although it is not your typical cheesecake texture it still tastes like cheesecake. The berry sauce compliments it so well and I'm really happy I chose this option. My friend got the tiramisu which was amazing and I will have to get for myself the next time I go! Please note they have indoor and outdoor seating, and all are social distanced friendly. But what was extremely surprising was that the rolled the crepe and then cut it so that it looked like sushi rolls. How appealing to the eyes, in their bite sized shapes. It took 30 minutes for our order to be taken, another 45 for our food to come out (after I walked in to wave for attention) and when we asked for water it came after 15-20 minutes, long after we were finished with our meals. We did not get checked on in between being served at all. The quality of the food unfortunately did not make up for the service as it was a solid 4/5 stars. Very cute cafe/restaurant that doesn't look like much from the outside as it is in a random plaza but so cute inside! Service was great as there was only 1 other couple there besides us on the random Friday we decided to stop by. I got a waffle with Nutella drizzle, strawberries and bananas. Wish the waffle was more crispy and less cakey/bready but still was delicious! Husband got a crepe that comes with no filling but lots of toppings like meat and a gravy sauce. Also wish the crepe was cripsy and not soggy but I think there are just different styles of crepes. Overall good flavors just not the texture I like for crepe or waffle. What an amazing place to choose dinner. I had seen this place in google maps and yelp but had not visited due to covid restrictions. I love crepes but also since I love them so much I'm very picky about good crepe preparation. I researched this place online prior and looked at their website and menu. The website looked very good but of course many times there's difference between website and actual. I can tell you this place exceeded my expectations from start to finish. Parking is easy as it's located in a plaza. No wait time we arrived Sunday around 7 pm. The ambience is magnificent, decoration inspires calm and music level and ambience is just perfect. Now to the food: We ordered: Cusco, Marsella and Mumbai Marsella: two of my favorite combined: crepes and lomo saltado. Steak was tender and flavorful, the sauce is just at the perfect point not to make it that soggy with the crepe and a great combination Mumbai: this my wife tried and she loved it. This has curry Marsella: absolutely fascinating. Chicken and mushrooms in a white sauce that sets the crepe just to the perfect point. Dessert: Icecream is homemade, it literally melts in your mouth with every bite. Perfect point of frozen ness and full of flavor but containing the sweetness (you'll never get tired of eating it!) I had the Buenos Aires crepe with dulce de leche. It could have a little more dulce de leche for my preference and maybe less banana, but the mix of sweet balances perfectly with the Icecream on the plate Portions are good. One crepe is enough for one person. A kid could have maybe 2/3 of a crepe. Staff was amazing, met the owner who gave us the background on where the menu idea came from. His wife is the chef, and their story is amazing. I love family owned businesses because you can really see the love in the plates. Price is good not inexpensive but totally worth the cost for the quality of the food. This is a must visit place. read more

Stopped by for a late breakfast craving and this cafe was perfect, quaint, and the service was stellar! I've been to cafe's in Paris and upon walking inside, I get the same aura at this local cafe. For starters, our server sat us and began explaining the menu, most popular picks for sweet or savory and her personal recommendations or favorites she's had herself. This made navigating the menu and each flavor so much easier because it can be a bit overwhelming at first glance. We ordered the "Versailles" for a sweet touch and the "New York" for something savory. As for drinks, a simple Iced Caramel Latte and a Punta Cana Smoothie. The smoothie was fresh and the Iced Caramel Latte was very tasty and smooth. It wasn't too much on the sweet side which I generally prefer. The Punta Cana was also very fresh! The versailles french toast seemed a bit dense and thick in texture which wasn't too appealing to me as I prefer light and airy but it was still satisfying for the sweet tooth. The New York waffle came with two poached eggs and turkey bacon with hollandaise sauce and syrup. It was actually very tasty and I will definitely come back for it! I also ordered the Cusco Crepe to go and boy oh boy was it magnificent! The steak was cooked medium, and I ordered a side of sunny side up egg to add on top to give it a "brunchy" feel. My friends, it was absolutely delightful... As I am writing this review I am planning my return tomorrow morning lol Definitely head to this restaurant and get brunch at any time whether morning or evening!! It is a true gem. read more
