P-MG, after reading your review, I honestly wondered if we even visited the same restaurant. Your experience sounds like the plot of a completely different movie. Our visit was outstanding. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly homemade. The Argentinian empanadas were excellent, the Americano breakfast and omelet were fantastic, and dessert was the perfect finish. More importantly, the service was exceptional. The mother and son made us feel like guests in their home, not just another table. You waited 32 minutes? Good food made from scratch sometimes takes time. I'd rather wait for a fresh meal than get something thrown together in five minutes. As for the "healthy food" comment, that wasn't an excuse it was an explanation. Not everything has to be drowning in butter, salt, or grease to taste good. Maybe the restaurant wasn't the problem. Sometimes when someone goes looking for something to complain about, they'll always find it. Judging by your review, it seems like nothing would have made you happy that day. No soggy bread, no cheap cheese. Just a solid breakfast that does not waste your time. The coffee deserves its own line. It is strong, smooth, and not burnt. All I can say is WOW! This Argentinian bakery and bistro is a small and locally owned spot I visited in SoFlo. It is now my new go-to for breakfast! We had: café con leche nutella cream latte croque madame french toast dulce de leche y pastelera factura membrillo y pastelera factura Service was fantastic even though they were PACKED! The café con leche was on point. The croque madame was the stuff dreams are made of! The french toast was thick and delicate and AMAZING! Absolutely love this place and I am shocked I have not hear about it until recently. I stopped by here to pick up some pastries and I am so glad I did! upon walking in, this location is very small with only a handful of tables, all of which had people at them. I liked that because it told me that this place was going to be good if it was this busy at eight in the morning! The lady working the register asked me what I wanted, without stopping with her smile. I told he I wanted a few pastries and looked over what they had. Everything was very fresh and behind a window so I knew they weren't sitting out in the open! I ordered handful of different ones, paid and left. The pricing was wonderful with half dozen little things being about $8.50. My favorite facturas that I ordered were the dulce du leche and guava pastries. The dulce was very sweet without being overkill and the dough it was one was light and flakey! I do wish it was a little less of a chew to it with one of the other guava pastries I had, but overall, very tasty! I also had one of the cheese empanadas and while it was very good, it was a little too strong in terms of the cheese flavor and I do wish there was a little more filling in it, it seemed that most of it may have leaked out while being cooked but not that big of a deal. We mainly wanted to try their empanadas as we were in a hurry. They have a lot to try but only saw a handful of them in the display. Food: we decided to go with the beef and Messi empanada. The beef had good flavor and we enjoyed the dough of the empanada, it was both doughy and flaky. I will say that I wished we would have taken up the lady's offer to had waited 5-6 minutes for them to make them fresh as the ones that were in the display tasted like it had been there since the morning but that's on me. The Messi empanada was nothing to rave about, it just wasn't our cup of tea. They gave us a homemade pesto and chimichurri sauce which really elevated the empanadas so that definitely helped. We had the usual...eggs, bacon, home made potatoes, French toast etc. Most of their brunch dishes come with coffee and 8oz orange juice (freshly squeezed). I can tell you that it exceeded my expectations. The meals were really good, savory and quantity was perfect. I have a thing about eggs. Can't stand pre mixed or box egg mixtures. The Lady in charge Paula P. was so nice , knowledge and attentive. we tried the empanadas and they were so good, the dough and meat flavor are unique from Argentina , facturas (argentinean pastries ) will melt in our mouths , the coffe w/ hot milk is the best . The staff was courteous, and the food items were delicious but I found them to be overpriced. I think if you go in the morning you'll be greeted with additional options. The ambiance is a little odd.
