Very disappointing after all the good reviews. Come on Phoenix peeps do you really not know good food?!?! I guess I should have known better when I saw a mix of different ethnic foods on the menu (Indian and Asian) Choose one perfect that. Also if you are going to put dark meat chicken in your dishes you should let the customer know. I was unable to enjoy my Chicken Tikka Masala because it had so much dark meat. I also agree that the fact that rice is charged separately feels like we are getting ripped off. We also tried the Paneer Wrap and the french fries that came with it had SUGAR on them...EWW! Pretty good food. We ordered Chicken Korma (mike spice) which had carrots peas and corn. The previous pictures posted of buffet is no longer applicable. They make the food fresh as there was a bit of a wait. Also ordered dinner size Tandoori Chicken and it was a good size portion. The picture shows a large rice that did not come w the entrees. Loved the garlic naan bread which was very thin. I'm used to the place in CA which is why we gave it a 4. Not as good as there but the food was tasty and of good quality. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan with some rice via Postmates as I was craving Indian food and didn't know of anything good in the area, and this place had good reviews. However, I found that their tikka masala didn't have much spice and the tomato taste was a lot stronger than the other restaurants I'd been to. It was a bit of a let down, but the naan was very good. I chose this place based because it was open after 230pm and I was craving Indian food. I was not disappointed. I ordered the lemonade with ginger essence for my drink, a samosa for my appetizer and the chicken sriracha wrap for my meal. I love me a samosa. It came out with a spicy mint chutney and the tamarind chutney. I liked the lemonade a lot. It was a little sweet for my taste, but that's because I don't like sweet drinks. I think normal people would find it to be perfect. The wrap was interesting. Loved that they used naan to wrap this chicken and pepper mix. I got it a medium hot spicy and it was exactly what I wanted. It came with French fries. I actually dipped the fries in the tamarind chutney and thought it was pretty good! I met the owner and head chef. He was super nice and inquired about my visit. Like how I found the place and did I enjoy the food. I thought this was a great spot! I freaking love saffron I go for the chicken tikka masala made with extra love and affection from the forever fabulous owner. I'm gonna get mushy on you now. He puts all he has into making his food delicious and making you crave for more. I swear I wanted tikka masala everyday for two weeks straight. I'm usually served by Taylor which fails to get me my water with LEMON but she is a joy to talk to and knows what she is talking about. I wasn't impressed though. One time I came in and the co owner was there and bossing one of the waitresses around. It looked like she was about to cry. Very upsetting to me. Over all it's a must eat place. I highly recommend Saffron if you have a hankering for some delicious (made with love) indian food. read more

Saffron is an absolutely amazing Indian restaurant in an area that is pretty accessible. My boyfriend and I enjoy Indian food extremely often, but have not found a restaurant that we enjoy in our neighborhood. Since our other favourite place is located in Surprise and we live in Central Phoenix, we decided to give this place a try. We were immediately greeted with kind staff, and seated based on our preference. The staff was attentive, and even still accommodating after a large party came in. The food is incredible! It is high quality, and obvious that the restaurant takes great care in what they do. I would HIGHLY recommend this place if you're close and really craving Indian food. :-) read more

My wife and I were not impressed with the food at Saffron. My wife had the the Chicken Tikka Masala. It didn't even taste like CTM normally would. It was bland and reminded me of what you would expect from a frozen dinner. The chicken had a weird consistency and felt like a hard boiled egg. I had the Lamb Vindaloo. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. The lamb was tough. There wasn't any onions or peppers in it. The Garlic Naan was bland and tough. I don't know how you screw naan up. The basmati rice was good but it was a small portion. There are so much better Indian food restaurants in the area. I suggest you go there. On a side note my wife and I both had stomach problems for the next few days after eating there. I'm guessing it was the chicken. read more

I have only tried their samosas few times and they are the worst that I have even eaten. I went back today hoping things may have changed. I requested specifically to fry the samosa properly but guess they don't know how to do it. samosas are only cooked from outside with big blobs of uncooked batter inside. We were looking for somewhere to have our last meal before heading back to Colorado and we were so glad we found this awesome Indian restaurant tucked away in the corner of a strip mall. My family members both ordered chicken tikka masala very spicy, paneer garlic naan, and garlic naan and they both enjoyed their food. I ordered VEGAN spicy vindaloo level medium hot with mixed veggies, and plain naan with no butter. It is very hard to find vegan naan even with leaving off the butter, so I was very excited and it was delicious! The vindaloo with veggies was the best Indian meal I have ever had in my life (including when I did eat meat/dairy too!). The veggie mix and sauce were both perfect- veggies included red and green peppers, corn, peas, potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, etc. All plentiful and fresh. The portions of everything were HUGE. We were very sad to be heading to the airport and therefore couldn't take our left overs home. Rice is sold separately but it is worth the price. I am so sad I can't eat this meal whenever I am craving it due to not living in town. I have been craving it all day, even though I just had it last night! I will make this a must-visit every time I am in the Phoenix area. read more

There were not that many people inside. It was my family (3) and 3 other families inside. Also, the price is quite high for the portion size. And I can't believe rice and the bread are extra! You know how restaurants have a side of bread or rice with meals? This one didn't so it was disappointing. Luckily, the flavor of their food was excellent. Hence the 4 stars. read more

My husband's parents are from Northern India and this is the closest thing we have ever found to his Mom's home cooked food. You can taste that everything is freshly made from scratch. Also, we are very tuned in with our bodies, and we always feel good after this place. Usually the Indian restaurants we have eaten at have so much oil that we don't enjoy eating or feel well after. The only reason it's missing a star is because the environment and ambiance aren't quite there yet. read more

This is THE BEST Indian food I'm the valley. No kiddong. Wherever you live, it is will worth the drive. We are 40 minutes away and we are never disappointed! It's always super clean, super friendly, and super delicious!! We are vegetarians so I can only speak for the non-meat dishes, but I have heard nothing but good things about the rest of their menu. My personal favorite entré is the Malai Kofta. YUM!!! For appetizers we love veggie pecoras and samosas. The newest thing we have fallen in love with is orange cauliflower.
