I'm so glad I found this place and can't wait to try more of the menu! The drinks were mixed to perfection and the bartender was very attentive and the drinks were just right! I think her name was tiffany? I've seen her at other places around town and she's always on point! The food was soooo goood however there were a few missteps. The edges of the samosa were quite crispy to where it was almost inedible, But the filling was spiced perfectly! Also the chomein (Indo Chinese noodle dish) came out Luke warm like it may had been sitting for at least 5 minutes before it was brought out. I ordered the medium for my spice level but felt it was not spicy at all. The interior of this establishment needs a little updating however I will say it looks like they are trying to get things upgraded and really bring this place to life! I wish them well and will definitely be back soon!

I recently tried out the new Nepali restaurant that just opened in a spot where a few other restaurants have come and gone. We ordered delivery, and I was impressed with how warm the food was upon arrival. They definitely wrapped the food with care. We tried the jhol momo, chicken 8488, chana masala, and sukuti (dried buffalo), which came with a roti. The jhol momo was decent, but the real highlights were the chana masala and the sukuti--absolutely delicious! Good amount of spice and flavor. Fun fact: the height of Mt Everest is 8,848 meters. The chicken 8488 was well-prepared and tender, especially if you enjoy dishes with coconut milk, but I missed that detail and was expecting something more like tandoori chicken, so it wasn't my favorite. Overall, I'd give them four stars and am definitely curious to try more from their menu.

Nice restaurant. It was clean and good ambience. When we went there, the bartender was on day off so we could not try the drinks other reviews are raving about. But we tried momos, paneer tikka which were okey and we tried chow-mien. I have never tried chow-mien with black chickpeas and I can say it was really yum. The waitress wasn't very nice and told us about their Bollywood and Latino night etc events they organize. Overall good experience. Will go again to try drinks this time.

Everything was excellent! Food and service both were 5 star. We had mouth watering juicy momo, perfectly spiced succulent roast chicken 8848 and outstanding Chicken tikka masala that came with cream sauce. All food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Our server Smriti was a phenomenal server. Super attentive, professional and polite. Also manager Binaya was outstanding. He came by enough but not too much to make sure we were enjoying the food and the beautiful ambience of the restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere, great food, prompt and friendly service makes this place worthy of a visit. We really had a pleasant and delicious dinner.

Garlic naan, butter chicken, basmati rice, and my son who couldn't eat things fast enough.

One of the most memorable dishes we had was a special that our server highly recommended--and it was truly a showstopper. I wish I had gotten the exact name because I can't find it on their online menu, but visually and flavor-wise it was stunning. It came wrapped and cooked in a banana leaf, layered with rich, velvety saag, what tasted like thin dosa or chapati layers, egg, aromatic spices, tender chunks of meat, and curry, all melded together into this beautifully perfumed, steamy package. It was served with a cooling yogurt sauce and a chili sauce that balanced the heat perfectly. The presentation alone was gorgeous, and the flavors were deep, earthy, and incredibly comforting. We also ordered the curry goat, which was delicately spiced with a wonderful, slow-building heat. The meat was tender, the gravy rich without being heavy, and it paired perfectly with the simple white rice that let the complex spices shine. The tandoori goat chops were the family favorite by far. Everyone loved the smoky char and bold marinade. Personally, I found them a bit softer than I prefer, but the flavor was outstanding--robust, well-seasoned, and unmistakably tandoori. Finally, we ordered the Tandoori Pomfret to go, and I had it later with rice porridge. It was absolutely scrumptious. The fish was fragrant, beautifully spiced, and still juicy, making it the perfect comfort meal with the warm, soothing porridge. Overall, Subham Chettinad Grill delivers authentic, soulful Indian cooking with layers of spice, heat, and aroma that feel both traditional and thoughtfully prepared. If you're looking for real South Indian and Chettinad-style flavors in Austin, this place is a must-try.

There were barely any people on a Saturday night which made us feel a little apprehensive after stepping in. The restaurant was dimly lit and restrooms were dirty. We were a group of 4 people, two of whom are Maharashtrian and know what the food tastes like. Comments for individual dishes: Vada pav - Not served with Mumbai pav but slider buns which is as unauthentic as can be. Sabudana vada - Crispy, tasted good, served with sweet yogurt. Pithla bhari - The worst I have ever had. Pithla was too runny, bhakri was downright stale/unedible. Pomfret fry - Fish skin was burnt, but taste was better than some of the other dishes. Puran poli - It was super thin, barely any puran filling and seemed to have been served after quick heating rather than fresh, the edges were unedible. Saoji chicken curry - Too much garam masala Triple Schezwan fried rice - This was the best dish among all those we ordered. It was served with manchurian gravy. A humble request to the restaurant management - please serve edible, authentic Maharashtrian dishes or remove them from the menu rather than misleading people.

Nothing stood out to me as amazingly delicious like some other Indian cuisine around Austin. The surmai fry had a piece of plastic on the plate (no it was not a bone). Ran out of the jhunka bakri so I ordered a kothimbir wadi which they had forgot. They also forgot my mango lassi. The buffet was not served during the time I was there but it seemed like just a small selection in the corner of the restaurant. I'm happy that a place like this is in Austin, but the service was so lackluster and the food was mediocre so I couldn't imagine myself going back.

I tried the Ulavacharu soup--absolutely delicious. It's main ingredient is horse gram, which apparently is in the legume family. It wasn't like any soup I've had before, so description is a bit tough. It was fairly spicy to start with, but less so as I kept eating it. The only things I could identify was ground up horse gram, some sweet onions, and some thinly shaved ginger, but it had a lot of complexity. Highly recommend that and the rose milk (especially if you need some relief from the spiciness when you start out.) I had a little bit of my friend's butter chicken sauce, and that was excellent too. More heavily tomato-based than I'm used to, but a lot of depth of flavor. I'd happily order that in the future. I can't wait to come back and try their buffet when my diet restrictions are over :) Service was great. I asked if a few of the menu items have coconut in them since I'm allergic, and our server double checked with the kitchen for me and was very nice about it. Really pretty dining room as well. For the main dishes we had the hydrabadi chicken biryani, aloo chole, and my child had the keema child's biryani. We also had the mint cilantro chutney and it reminds me of homemade chutney. All were very flavorful and very fresh. My aloo was served with a good portion of rice. All the portions were large. We ate here on Sunday and we still have leftover biryani and I'm finishing my aloo. One thing we noticed that was odd compared to where I usually visit was the server. They were kind of awkward at first and had the "melinneal stare." BUT consider that people can be neurodivergent! The service was great and prompt. It was a bit warm, but the server heard our comments and went and moved a big fan they had out to combat how warm it was. I highly recommend trying them out!
