I left without one, after 1.5 hours. The dentist was unprofessional, argumentative, and used manipulation tactics to upsell treatments I did not ask for. I have been avidly taking care of my teeth since 21 yrs old. I moved to Boynton and wanted to find a place closer. No issues, no gum disease...etc. in my history EVER. If I could give this office a ZERO I would. Wanted a cleaning, was told I had to do X-rays first then have my gums probed for measurements. Their standards for gum measurements from 1-2, the rest of the world is 1-3. After having my gums stabbed hearing numbers up to 4-6 (never ever happened before) I was told I needed a deep cleaning that would cost $300 and not covered by insurance. I filled out a release form, transferred my X-Rays to my previous dentist and received a second opinion. My gums were fine, a regular cleaning was done and nothing out of pocket on my side. Unbelievable how they are only looking to pay the rent and their bills over patients genuine needs. Terrible office and I'm surprised I didn't get an infection on how deep she probed my gums. Front desk, and X-Ray technician were great. Don't walk but run from this place. read more

LIES! I have a 3-month long paper trail with Office Manager Lisa over unauthorized procedures and a subsequent bill. They billed me for $108 and told my insurance (DeltaDental) that they only billed me for a $15 copay. This is fraud all day long. As with many healthcare providers these days, Sage Dental is comfortable overbilling me and holding my money while they claim they are "working on a refund" in the back office. Was a customer for over 7 years. Last year aggressive up-selling of un needed services. Last visit after being part of a "plan" they wanted to charge 300 for a basic cleaning, stating they no longer offer the plan. I went to a new dentist that showed me that i had years of plac buildup that was never properly removed. Last few years it has been going downhill with a get em in and out as fast as possible with as many charges as if they are commision based. Garbage company. read more

AVOID THIS SCAMMING DENTAL OFFICE AT ALL COSTS!!!!! My husband recently had to find a new dentist because our insurance changed and was excited to try Sage Dental. They were offering a free electric toothbrush for new patients, which sounded great. He went in for a cleaning and was told he needed a route canal and a crown, so he followed the advice and had that done first. When he went back for his cleaning, they gave him a hard time about the free toothbrush even though he was a new patient, but just had the work done prior to the cleaning. He said the girl in the office literally rolled her eyes and sighed at him about the free toothbrush after arguing with him about it. NOT TO MENTION, when he went back for his cleaning (which is covered by insurance), they told him he needed "medicated irrigation" with his cleaning for $100!!! They refused to do his cleaning without the "special" irrigation. My husband wanted to walk out at that point, but really needed a cleaning. I've had cleanings every 6 months for the past 5 years and never heard of this unnecessary treatment. So, basically they offer a "free" toothbrush, but then make you pay for it on the back end! Horrible way to run a business at this dishonest, scamming medical practice! We will never step foot in Sage dental again and never recommend to anyone! I have been going to this dentist for the last 7 years. My wife and I noticed more and more that they are charging for additional unnecessary treatments not covered by insurance. Today they told me to either go with the additional treatment of deep cleaning not covered by my insurance (in excess of $1000+ per person per year) or they would no longer offer me basic cleanings and services covered by my insurance. They tried to charge the same to my wife. There was no option of choice. Either choose their additional services or leave. Those were the options they gave us. I went to another Sage up near Hypoluxo but I doubt there's a difference in any of them as this appears to be a strictly interested in the moolah factory operation. If you think of the difference between fine dining and sliding a tray in some cheap cafeteria, you have good picture of the operation or if you're old enough to remember the personalized service of the corner druggist vs supermarket pick ups of today you have even a better picture. Why would an experienced professional want factory work? PS if you insist anyway, steer clear of their package deals as you might find yourself regretting it after 1st visit. read more

This place doesnt deserve One star. I had asked numerous times during my visits to take my work email off. I have told this office this time and time again.  My gut instinct told me to call Sage Dental after my new dentist called and requested records. As I left the New Dental office they called me and said Sage will email them to me . I then called the office manager of Sage IMMEDIATELY and said DO NOT EMAIL. They then proceeded to send my my confidential records ANYWAY. If you sent these before our conversation you should of notified me on the phone, but you didn't You said you could not email them to me without having a release form signed with a copy of my photo ID. I gave you my personal email ( btw it is 8:22 pm the next day and I have not received ONE email from you) With the attitude I received when requesting a release form AGAIN my gut nstinct then told me to call my former store. Well GUESS what. They have my records. I have not worked there in over a year. Thankfully I still work for the same company but in a different state and was able to have my confidentail records forwarded. I just wanted to Thank you for your dishonesty not once but TWICE. Today I was finally able to get someone to pick up the phone at this office, after leaving REPEATED messages as a new customer. About a month ago, I scheduled an appointment for the day after Thanksgiving, and requested a call back through their scheduling department, to which I never received one. The purpose for that call back was I had a few questions regarding what was required of me as a new patient (e.g. downloading forms to fill out as a first time patient, if I needed to pick up x-rays from my previous dentist), as well as one about a cleaning tool my previous dentist office used during my cleanings (I'll get to that later). I explained to the first woman I spoke with that I had left multiple messages asking these questions, to which she replied "I check all of the messages and I received none." Not a great way to start a conversation, when I know FOR A FACT I left 2-3 messages (one within the last week, and another the day I set up my appointment with their schedulers - as instructed by their schedulers) with their office, only to have them ignored entirely. After I suffer through that back and forth I am now told that my appointment was cancelled because they decided to close the office the day after Thanksgiving. Had I not made the REPEATED effort to get in touch with them, I would have shown up that day and the doors would have been locked. Then I come to find they didn't even show me as a patient in their system; again I had to have a debate that I even made the appointment before we could discuss rescheduling. At this point I was understandably upset, and said before I reschedule anything I would like to have my questions answered. Then I started getting placed on hold repeatedly. And I'm talking about 6-7 times, sometimes for 2-3 minutes at a time. It honestly felt intentional, which of course only made the experience that much more frustrating. On to "the cleaning tool." After doing my best to explain to the woman what the tool did (I told her it did some type of grinding or sanding down of any build-up on the backside of the teeth), I am put on yet another 2-3 minute hold only for her to come back and say "We use a [insert technical name for tool]" and I said well what does that mean? I am by no means a dentist or a dental hygienist so I wanted to know what the tool did. She huffed and puffed and put me on ANOTHER extended hold, only to have someone named Chastity (sp?) pick up the call. Only to repeat the same technical/official name of the tool without giving an explanation. So I told her the same thing: What does that mean? To which she replied, "Well you asked about the tool which suggests you know what it means." I said no, if you had bothered to ask how I arrived at this point of the conversation, you would know I described what my previous dental office's tool DID, but I had no idea what it was called. Chastity (sp?) then claimed the call was irate or something to that affect, and said she wanted to disconnect the call. Had she bothered to understand the situation instead of just inserting herself into a situation/conversation of which she had no frame of reference, then there could have been a civil conversation had. Instead she chose to misunderstand a situation she knew NOTHING about, and disconnect a call due to her office's collective ineptitude. I have never been treated so unfairly and rudely as a new patient ANYWHERE, after trying repeatedly to get an answer from an organization that should be doing the hard work itself for their new patients. As the saying goes, "I wish there was an option to give a no star rating" as this place attempts to place blame on their patients when their lack of professionalism is what causes the problems. No one should have to work this hard to be a paying customer, so I would steer clear of this place if you have any other options in your vicinity. What a world we live in. read more

There was a cancellation directly after my appointment today so instead of coming back tomorrow for another procedure, they extended the offer to conduct all necessary procedures today so I would not have to come back in I am going out of country next week so I really appreciate their effort to minimize the amount of time I am taking off work. I went to Sage on the recommendation of my insurance company. I had listva filling and was in extreme pain. I wanted an extraction. I was taken in by an assistant, who proceeded to take full mouth xrays. I agreed thinking they were covered. After quite awhile, a dentist? Came briefly looked at my mouth, stating that I needed a lot of work. I told her that I was there about one particular tooth. She said I had to make an appointment with a periodontist???hello an oral$ surgeon does extractions....she left and said she would give me a prescription. I went to the front desk where I was told I owed $365...for the visit...I flipped for xrays and a look see??? No way. The woman at the desk kept saying my insurance set the price. I told her I just wanted to see an oral surgeon. Had to pay $139 up front...no way...I said what do you charge for a walk in..$49. I gave her my cc. I left...now I get a bill for another $67...WTH??? I had my wisdom teeth pulled in the boca (Yamato) location. Was very impressed and satisfied with service. Unfortunately that has since changed with my recent visit to the Boynton (n Congress) location. I figured since my visit to boca was so good I thought it would be good to do my cleanings at Sage as well. I scheduled my appointment almost two months out because that is what they had available but I understand it happens. I get a text confirming my appointment today and I drive to the location only to be told my appointment was canceled because I didn't confirm over the phone. What was the point of the text then?!?! Complete waste of my time and a day that I had to request from my employer. The staff was very rude and said since I did not answer calls I was not a "serious patient." When I tried to discuss with the lady at receptionist, she gave me the "hold on " finger and ignored me. Would NOT recommend this location at all. I went here last week as a new patient and found them to be filthy greedy pigs. I went for a cleaning which I have done every six months and decided to use them since they are right done the street from me. I am using a discount plan which covers 2 annual cleanings of a cost of zero each time. Upon getting started I noticed that the instruments they were going to use had tooth cement on the handles and were somewhat discolored like rust. I told them to change out the instruments and I got a dark response from the girl. Then another girl comes in and tries to start selling me veneers and other tooth cosmetics. I told her that I was not interested and that I wanted to know the cost of my cleaning and to hurry it up since I was there for 1hr 20min by now. A third girl comes in and starts giving me crazy off the wall fees. She tells me that my cleaning will cost $175 and if I wanted to replace 1 crown it will cost $2300 or pull the tooth for $300. I jumped up out of the chair and said my plan says cleanings are free and a crown is $499. The girl says that's not true and starts an argument with me on what my plan covers. I have been using a solstice plan plus from dentalplans.com for years and I know the cost especially since I get cleanings twice a year and only pay for sealer and fluoride and ex-rays when needed $38. Besides all of this as a new patient I was suppose to get free to highly discounted cleaning on my first visit which they seem to ignore but is posted right on the window of their front door. Thieves and low life business practice loaded with unprofessional employees. would have given them zero starts but you have to give at least one to post.. Set up an appointment to have a cleaning. In the middle of my dental exam I got kidney stones episode. Obviously I had to leave, the lady who was cleaning me was so sweet!! she said her daughter was going thrugh the samme thing. At the beginning of the appt I paid $100 to make sure I saw the surgeon (root canal) They insisted that I put it down so I can see the surgeon. Make a long story short I had to cancel because I was in and out of the hospital.. They are REFUSING o give me the deposit back. The lady named Andrea is completely heartless and cold... I really like the changes since this office became Sage Dental. They have a new dentist named Dr. Gonzalez. I liked her a lot. I felt She was real and I felt like I could trust her unlike other experiences I had in the past. Anyhow I unfortunately needed a filling. She did a great job. I was very happy with her and the dental assistant. My cleaning went better this time as well. Last time the dental hygienist's equipment was not working right. This time it was much better. I like that it is easy to schedule here. I also like that there is not a crazy wait time. You get seen relatively close to the appointment time which is great. read more

When the office manager tells you that you need debridement without looking into your mouth, without viewing your X-rays, and without any dental education/training something is terribly wrong. I walked out of the office and saw another dentist, whom didn't require and consultation with a dentist before cleaning my teeth. As it turned out, the dentist came in looked at my teeth and X-rays after my teeth were cleaned and said I had excellent hygiene and didn't need debridement. read more

Wow, went to Sage Dental in Boynton Beach today. I feel like I was robbed at gunpoint! First they did not have the whitening kit that they sent me a coupon for. Then I had my 15 minuet X-ray session/3 minuet exam. After my "dentist" was done she asked me when the last tome I had a cleaning, I said it's been awhile. She said I need a deep cleaning and told me that the assistant would explain the process. After she left the young man explained that the deep cleaning was $520. I know, your thing he should have had insurance. I do. Went downhill from there, I'm going for a second opinion, pretty sure I don't need to pay that amount for a cleaning no matter how deep it is. I went to this practice using a coupon for a cleaning. The dentist examined me and I was told to pay now and make the appt for my cleaning. I came for the 2nd visit, met with hygienist and she said I needed a scaling costing 300+$$- and they wouldn't do the cleaning until my mouth was "made healthy". I left in a huff and immediately phoned my NY dentist of 30+ years screaming about why he never told me my gums were in need of care. Let me say here my NY dentist is president of our borough's dental society and attends continuing ed and teaches at these things often. My dentist said I should calm down and think about this rationally. He immediately sent me pictures/X-rays and chart info and told me my mouth was in perfect condition. I phoned this office back- telling them I had images and data and I wanted my money back. I further threatened to report them to whomever I needed to to stop them from practicing. Let me also say here, that when the dentist first examined me he said nothing about my "gum condition".. Their argument was-the hygienist is the one who makes that decision, and the dentist has nothing to do with that assessment. To which I said that is a load of bull crap. Dental school teaches all aspects of dental care, and he should have known or seen this on initial examination - and allowed me to make a choice on the first visit as to whether or not I wanted to continue with treatment prior to their securing payment. They refunded my money after a return phone call-I guess they consulted with the dentist before agreeing to do so. They will never see me there again. They are a bunch of thieves and liars. read more

It began with more x-rays than I've ever had taken at any dentist in my entire life. Next, came accusations that I was bulimic. An initial question is understandable; however, this hygienist proceeded to argue with me and state, You wouldn't tell me if you were. After 2 hours (which didn't even include a cleaning yet) I was told I had no other option but to get a deep cleaning of my teeth & gums. I would need to pay myself since insurance doesn't cover it. When I asked if I could just have a basic cleaning (which is all I've ever needed), I was told, No, as that would mean "neglect." The dentist wouldn't be following through with her diagnosis, I was told. I guess that means a cancer patient MUST have surgery to remove a tumor? No, they have options and can consent to alternative treatment once properly informed. That is not "neglect." It appears Sage wanted to charge more for a deeper cleaning once finished with their inappropriate dialogue re: my "bulimia." I've decided I'll be asserting my right to refuse treatment and will be finding another dentist. read more
