They also sneak in extra services without consent, driving up your bill. On top of that, they harass you with constant calls and messages until you have no choice but to block them. I do not like going to the dentist but I'm very glad i found smile design. They took amazing care of me two weeks before my wedding since i needed a root canal. They took time to explain everything and make me feel at ease. I went to my wedding with a temporary crown and it held up perfectly. BEWARE! AVOID THIS DENTIST! I am shocked at the level of unprofessionalism and disrespect that I just experienced by Dr. Baghdassarian. I called on behalf of my mother, who is a caretaker for my sick father and often needs help facilitating things. I called to cancel and appointment and also request her xrays. My mother does not have an email address so I thought it would be easier that I be the point of communication. The reason we wanted to cancel is because my mother was upset after her visit there saying that she was being charged insane fees. ($25,000) The reason for her visit was because her crowns broke but they seemed to be piling on other procedures such as the redoing of her implants. I didn't feel comfortable with these fees for my mother so I wanted her to get a second opinion. I also went online and read review after review of the office being scam artists so needless to say I was reluctant. After my conversation with Dr. Baghdassarian, the reviews proved themselves to be right. When I called, the receptionist answered. I requested my mother's xrays and explained I needed to cancel her appointment and she got nervous and put me on hold. She sounded scared like she was panicking. It was very odd. She put me on hold and then someone else picked up(Dr. Baghdassarian) and said "I'll call you right back" and hung up on me. I was convinced that someone picked up the wrong line by the way she spoke to me and just hung up. It sounded like she was talking to her daughter or husband. So, I called back and yet again the scared receptionist put me on hold. Then the Dr. picked up again. She said rudely "youre talking to the DENTIST now". Great!! I would much rather speak to the head. I explained what I was calling about and she immediately got defensive and loud saying that my mother owed her money (for services not even performed yet) and was supposed to drop it off today for her appointment on Monday. She said my father was going to pay her (?). My father is sick with cancer and can barely leave the house. She said "I'm not giving you the xrays because YOURE NOT MY PATIENT. Your mother needs to come here. You're calling me out of NOWHERE" What I don't understand is this is a simple routine ask. There must be some waiver that my mother can approve or sign for the xrays to be emailed to me!?!??! I am in communication with my parents doctors as their proxy. Why is everyone so defensive and angry. I had to yell over this woman (a dentist, THE dentist) to speak and be heard. When I finally yelled over her I explained that I had never been spoken to like this in all my years of working in the professional world and that I am shocked of the the level of disrespect from someone in her position. She kept yelling that I'm not her patient. I told her but I can be a potential new client! I mean why talk to anyone this way!?! It honestly sounds like this woman is under the influence of some kind of substance. She just kept yelling that my mother needs to come get the xrays herself and pay her. From what I gather, my mother owes her for a service that was not even done yet? It feels like the mob is running this place. What seems to be going on is that they are scamming older people. When they heard a younger person advocating for an older client they immediately got either scared or angry and defensive. I am still just in disbelief that this woman has the permission to work on patients. It actually makes me really sad. I plan on complaining to the board. This woman needs to be removed from practice. Smile Design Dentistry (formally HAB Dental): Run (don't walk) from this practice as fast as possible. This is a venture capitalist firm buying up practices. The do not care about you. Rosemary (HAB Dental) ran this practice into the ground. She has screwed her patients! Smile Design will not honor any work she performed that was faulty. After 14 months I have a crown that cracked. Waited for nearly 2 hours for them to check with "management" about coverage. Management was unavailable, in a meeting etc. Finally got up and walked out. It's called taking ownership folks and they refuse to take ownership of the practice's patients that they bought. Better off going elsewhere & staying away from this practice / group. Rosemary (seller) has fled the state, so you're screwed and on your own. Now I have to find another Dentist, deal with the insurance etc. that will deny a new crown (14 months) only to tell them the dentist they paid is out of business and the new owners will not honor patient care. They talked me into getting more Dental work then I needed because the promised to put it on my CareCredit card at 0% for 24 months. They never gave me a confirmation and when I got my credit card statement, I was paying 17.9% interest for 24 months. I talked to the General Manager, Doreen Fernandez, and she said she would correct their mistake and change it to 0% but only for 6 months. Doreen flat out lied to me and did nothing. I talked to CareCredit and they never heard back from Doreen and I'm still getting charged 17.9% interest for 2 years. So H.A.B. Dental lied and deceived me twice! This dental practice is a total scam. I went in as a new patient for X-rays, cleaning and exam. The hygienist took a series of x-rays followed by a full set of photos of my teeth. Told me how expensive my mouth is and used the photos to tell me that I would need a $1000 deep cleaning, need to replace the majority of my fillings, my teeth were ground down and I had lots of cracks and cavities. Dr Baghdassarian supported most of this diagnosis and sent me to the office manager to prepay $1000 for the cleaning. I left. I see a dentist for routine cleanings every 6 months and wondered how my teeth had deteriorated so quickly. The following week I went to another dental practice for exam, cleaning & x-rays and was told my mouth was fine first by the hygienist and then by the Dentist. read more

These guys are fantastic! New to the area and broke a tooth over the weekend. Picked another dentist from my insurance website got appointment on Monday. Arrived in pain only to be told they didn't have my appointment scheduled but they "might" be able to see me Tuesday. I then called HAB dentist. Michelle at the front desk told us to come now and they would get me in. They got me right in. Dr Zinn and the whole team worked for over an hour repairing the damage and getting a temp crown in place. He followed up with a call this morning to check to see how I was feeling. He prescribed some meds for me and will call me again Thursday to check again. Never had such a caring dentist or office team. They were AMAZING. I won't go anywhere else for my dental care. It's unfortunate to be in the position to write this review but based on the outcome it's definitely justifiable. I selected HAB Dental because they accepted our dental plan. During one of my cleanings it was highly recommended that I consider getting a bridge. Not new news to hear but something I was putting off so I asked the million dollar question, "How much?". After confirming the total cost included my insurance benefit and further discussion due to my concern with the cost at the time, I was told about Care Credit. I provided my social and then was moved to another room where the work began. It was a bit of a whirlwind and after 3 hours I left. This happened in the summer. In late November I received my EOB showing my out of pocket was HALF of what I paid. I called my ins company asking what happened and after the insurance rep spoke to the office mgr at HAB to request a refund for me, she called me back to let me know HAB wasn't giving a refund. Reason being, the material HAB used to make my bridge was not covered under ins. After calling the dental office after my initial call wasn't returned, I reached the office mgr and again explained the situation. She had to speak to the finance mgr and Dr. Baghdassarian. She called back a few days later and nicely explained there's nothing they can do. Their front desk is "well trained" to always provide both prices (the cost using the material insurance covers and the cost of the more expensive material). I was given ONE price and ONE price only and there was no mention of 2 types of available materials. The result of the $1,500 EXTRA I paid: a free cleaning (that ins covers)! When I expressed my extreme disappointment in how this was being handled I was offered teeth whitening (no thanks). The very fact Dr. Baghdassarian chose to not return a portion of the bill goes to show her lack of character and professionalism. By not accepting, or acknowledging, that a mistake was made by one of her staff which resulted in a HUGE financial burden to one of her patients is unconscionable and morally wrong! read more

Last year I was on a vacation on a foreign country and I broke my front tooth. This happened on the 3rd day of a 10 day vacation. I was so upset and embarrassed to be seen like that and I booked a flight home the next day leaving my wife behind. I got home early the next day after a long flight. I called H.A.B because my wife had been going there. I was told to go to the Boca office even though I live in Boynton. After being examined it was established that I needed 3 full extractions and one removal of a piece of tooth that remained after an old extraction, plus an immediate denture. I was given a price of $5600. I said that I thought that this was very expensive. They told me about their discount program and I signed up myself and my wife. I was now given a price of $4200. Because I was so anxious to fix the problem I signed the release. I got the work done the following week. Fast forward to this year. I had a crown that broken off my most rear right tooth. I went to H.A.B again. I was told that the tooth needed to be extracted and I needed an immediate a new partial and a crown on another tooth. The price i was given was $4200 again? I refused the immediate and the crown and was given a price of $1800. $1200 for the partial and $600 for the extraction. I got curious and asked to see the itemized bill from last year. On it were 4 extractions with bone grafts and guided tissue regen plus the immediate. After reviewing this I had some questions. I am not a dentist but it is my understanding that these procedures take time to perform. I was observing the entire treatment and it was not very lengthy. What I observed was the extractions and sutures In three of them. I am not sure that the bone grafts were performed or were really needed. It just seemed like an unnecessary upsell. When I questioned the high prices I was told that I was paying for the dentists expertise. This treatment could have been performed by any competent dentist. read more

I am completely disappointed with my experience at H.A.B. Dental in Boynton Beach. On my very first visit I was told I needed to get crowns on my teeth. I was given a very incomplete explanation of this procedure. One thing I didn't learn is that the procedure is IRREVERSIBLE. I had not idea that my existing front teeth would be ground down to small bits that are unsightly to say the least. The work was started right away, so there was no time to think it over. I am now stuck with these phony teeth. I liked my original teeth. I am so remorseful for signing the contract and making the payment. The Worst STAY FAR FAR AWAY. They represented themselves as a plan provider of our dental plan. The sole reason I went to them was because they represented themselves as a plan dentist. Worked out a treatment plan with this dentist. When plan was approved I WAS SPECIFICALLY TOLD THAT they did not like the amount the plan would reimburse them THAT IT WAS NOT ENOUGH and demanded money upfront which was unethical, unconscionable and totally unprofessional. Stay away. Not to be trusted. They are so bad that they pulled themselves out of the plan. Bad news. Edit: Doreen made a pretext of trying to redress the situation. She asked me to call. In actuality she was only attempting to get me to remove this bad review. When I called them as requested she told me she was hoping I would remove the bad review. It appeared that she basically did not care if I contacted them or not. Her comment back to me was only for appearance sake. Once again STAY AWAY. I had my semi annual cleaning yesterday at H.A.B. Dental. The hygienist, Suzanne, is THE BEST!!! She is very thorough and gentle. Suzanne is one of only a few that floss teeth correctly. She explains my shortcomings when it comes to caring for my teeth and is very clear and concise when she explains how to do what it is I need to do better and the consequences of not doing them. You can tell she lives what she does and cares about her patients. Care and concern reverberates throughout that entire office starting from Dr. Rosemary and continuing throughout the entire staff. While I live in Miami, I traveled to HAB Dental in Boyton Beach because of the excellent skills of the dental hygienist who works there. To repair my molar, I went to HAB Dental and the dentist worked on my molar to save the tooth. Yesterday, I returned to have the crown placed on the molar. This office is absolutely pristine and the staff is extremely friendly! I had a hygienist named Michelle who was a delight to work with. I can tell that she values education because she took the time to address and inform on any questions or concerns I had. She recommended that I get Invisalign knowing that my insurance would cover most of it. I really appreciated their thorough work, the fact that they're OCD about quality results made me feel at ease.
