Very unprofessional experience. I received a call from the receptionist about my appointment and she was extremely rude. She kept cutting me off while I was trying to explain that I never received the calls they claimed to make to me. Instead of listening, she talked over me and was very dismissive. Then, without me even asking, she canceled my appointment during the call. At that point I just said "okay" and hung up because the conversation was going nowhere. Just when I thought that arguing with their billing department about bills, I had already paid for wasn't bad enough. I had a root canal performed a year ago and I have recently had to have oral surgery and have my root canal redone because it failed apparently, the previous root canal done by Sage Dental was not done correctly. It has cost me a lot of money and I would not recommend this clinic at all. Their staff is rude. They do not take patient care into consideration. Sage Dental in Lake Worth: the dental hygienist here is more of a snake oil salesperson than a hygienist. It felt like a tourist trap experience where you're harassed to buy things and pressured with aggressive sales tactics. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a dental office, hands down. They try to upsell you on extra cleanings and other add-ons that no other dental office has ever suggested. When I questioned the upsell and said I didn't want it, the hygienist refused to continue, insisting we had to proceed with her recommendations "because of her professional license." Your license is to be a hygienist, not a salesperson. They're also disorganized. At my first visit, they didn't include a cleaning with my X-rays, which is common sense to schedule together. I ended up walking out in the middle of my appointment, right from the patient's chair, after the hygienist refused to do my routine cleaning because I didn't agree to her upsell. The unprofessionalism is shocking. Losing a patient over aggressive, deceitful sales tactics is ridiculous. I've already scheduled an appointment with a local family office. They have lots of positive fake reviews on google and great marketing. I didn't know they were a corporate chain dental office (I am fairly new to Florida), I now realize why corporate dental offices have such a bad reputation like this one. read more

I took my 4 year old daughter here for a year and a half. They told me she had 3 cavities. Then when I showed up for the filling, they told me I was not allowed back with her which I thought was very strange (considering she was only 4 years old and never had a procedure done before) . We left immediately and I took her to a real pediatric dentist office that allowed me back. They took Xrays and examined her teeth and told me she in fact had 0 cavities. Just one area to watch. I think they just want your money here and don't care about making the kids and parents feel comfortable. Definitely won't be coming back or trusting Sage again. read more

Strike One. They did some x-rays. The dentist looked in my mouth and 15 minutes later, I was presented with a 5 visit, $4039.80 treatment plan. And that is with insurance. Strikes two and three. I liked this place up until they screwed me over and put me in debt 1,080 because of a mistake the front desk assistant made she looked me up and I tried giving her my new insurance card but she was persistent and kept saying "you're in the system and you're insurance is active". Keep your children away from this office. They are not interested in what is best for each child. Their strict "no parent" policy is ridiculous. My child was nervous and anxious and crying about getting her first cavity filled and they would not allow me to go back with her. It is very suspicious that they will not allow parents to accompany their children while getting any medical/dental services. Perhaps their reviews would be better if they had a culture of transparency and compassion for their patients, especially kids. If parents aren't allowed, then who will hold them accountable for how they treat patients? My child told me the hygienist was talking to her like a dog and calling her "girl". Not surprising since no one is allowed to be back there monitoring what's happening. How is this ok???We will not be returning to this office. read more

I went to sage dental and asked when I booked the appointment if my insurance covered 100% of the x-rays and examination. They said yes, when I went in for the appointment I asked again if the services were covered 100% they said yes. I had to wait 40 minutes to get X-rays and another 30 minutes for the dentist.. I was told that my cleaning which I had to schedule another appointment for a cleaning, would be a additional $140. I have never paid anything for my x-rays, consultation it cleaning with my insurance.. I was not happy and I left without booking another appointment.. Now they sent me additional $70 bill for my x-rays and consultation. My advice don't go here! read more

I've read many negative reviews about this dental office, but I'm happy to report that I have only positive feedback to share. Years ago, after many failed attempts at finding an honest and trustworthy dentist, I heard some high praise for Dr. Brian Gross and knew that I'd feel comfortable with him. He was my dentist for many years, but when he left the practice, I lost track of him. I recently had a dental emergency and went to a nearby dentist for the first time. I had read some outstanding reviews beforehand, so I believed that I was in good hands. Unfortunately, I was told that I needed various treatments, estimated at thousands of dollars. I left there hysterically crying and couldn't breathe, and it wasn't even due to the outrageous bill; it was mostly the prospect of losing my teeth, of which I've taken exceptional care since I was four years old. That night, I did a search for my trusted dentist, and I found him. Dr. Gross is now practicing at Sage Dental in Lake Worth. I NEVER would have considered going to a chain dental practice if it hadn't been for Dr. Gross, but I trust him implicitly. Everyone in the office is very pleasant, caring, and professional. I haven't felt like a bother to anyone, despite my questions, concerns, phone calls, and numerous visits. When Dr. Gross looked at my X-rays and examined my teeth, he told me that my teeth are healthy. I'd already been told by other dentists that I needed a root canal, crown, implant, and Invisalign. He disagreed with all of the above and told me that I have nice teeth. It turns out that I've been grinding/clenching my teeth really hard while I sleep, and that a night guard will fix that problem. I just needed a little time for my teeth to calm down first. Had I agreed to the treatment plan of the other dentist, I would now be missing one or both of my front teeth, and I'd be out over $7000. I'm actually grateful that the other dentist tried to rip me off; otherwise, I wouldn't have searched for and found the best dentist I know in the area. It's also worth nothing that Mary, the hygienist, took great care with the cleaning to make sure that she wouldn't hurt my sensitive teeth. She is so pleasant and caring, and she didn't rush through the cleaning; she took her time so that she could be extra-gentle, yet still thorough. I've been back to the office many times and have always been greeted with a smile when I walk in. Check-in takes a split second, wait time is minimal, and check-out with Tay is very quick and easy. She's really lovely... just so sweet and personable, and also very efficient. I've had all favorable experiences at Sage Dental, even considering the terrible circumstances under which I had to go. I highly recommend this location at 1922 Lake Worth Road. I cannot attest to the professionalism, care, or kindness of the staff at any of the other locations. read more

I was told I would not be able to accompany my 8 year old for her extraction of an abscessed tooth. I would be far away behind closed doors where I couldn't see or hear. We left. I was not comfortable with this considering we had never been here before and I hadn't even met the dentist that would be examining her. read more

Went to this location (1922 Lake Worth Rd) today for an appt only to be told my grandson did not have one. This appt was scheduled with 3 people on this call, the insurance company, Kiera at the sage office, and myself. When we got their the lady at the front desk told us the appt was for tomorrow. The lady at the front desk was so rude and just kept saying they would see us tomorrow. I immediately got on the phone with the insurance company and they also encountered the rude lady that would not budge. I am the front office manager at a local physicians office and everyone knows the front desk is the face of the office, the experience with that one person can either keep the patient coming back or just leaving and not returning.You need someone with a great personality and who can keep calm and speak to patient's in an appropriate way. Looking at some of these reviews I see I'm not the only one with this complaint. The way she treated me made me not even want him to be seen by anyone at that office. After walking out called the insurance company back and ended up getting a same day appt at Kidzvil on Hagen Ranch Road. Talk about a wonderful experience with the whole staff there. When your small child is in discomfort you want a solution not a young lady that is talking to you like she's on the streets confronting a stranger. I'm still in total shock as to how I was treated. Horrible. I'm currently on the way to the ER in PAIN and Dentist REFUESED to help. After being treated here on Monday at Sage Dental Lake Worth. The Dentist gave me antibiotic and Ibuprofen to help with upper tooth that has to come out by oral surgeon. Unfortunately I don't get paid until next week Tues to have it removed. I'm a LONG time patient and never experienced a problem until today with SAGE DENTAL. The Dentist flat out REFUESED to give me something to help my pain or allow me to make payment arrangement to get this tooth out now instructed me to go to the ER..NOT OK JUST WRONG I SWEAR now bill for ER will be more then extraction but SAGE DENTAL LAKE WORTH doesn't care to help me. Even spoke to office manager said surgeon not available until next month but can make request for another office tomorrow but I have to pay same day which again I cant until next week. I had an oral surgery that got pushed 2 months because of COVID. As soon as I arrived for my appointment, they told me there was no oral surgeon. So in March when I rescheduled because they told me to, they gave me an appointment date when there's no surgeon at the location and only informed me of this the day I arrived at the location. My experience at sage dental was terrible. The hygienist and dentist were not friendly and did not communicate well. The dentist did not introduce herself to me or explain any of the procedures. Left in tears as I was told I would need thousands of dollars in work. I went to a different dentist for a second opinion and left with 2 fillings. Okay, so it happens but when they turned around and asked me for a $50 deposit for a cleaning after my first visit......I've never had a dental office ask for an appointment deposit. But given the circumstances, I thought it was pretty nervy of them. When I explained that to the the woman at check out she was rude. The entire visit is one big upsell. They seem much more interested in how much money they can get from you than they are the service they give. Very hard sell to start treatment right away. I went to Lake Worth Sage Dental because I had a cap that had fallen out. I walked out of the office with not having anything done but a $2,700.00 estimate. Dentist stated I had decay in tooth, could not use old cap, had cracked fillings etc. I went two days later to another dentist and that I had used years earlier. He replaced my cap with the one that had fallen out. Had no decay and had no cracked fillings. He did not even charge to cement cap back in. AMAZING! Do not use Sage Dental!!!!!! read more

Do not use this dental group. The office manager at this location is rude and unhelpful. There is no emergency call back service. If you call the office after hours the button you press for emergencies goes nowhere. This is the same with all of the Sage Dental offices in this area. I tried 3 different offices. The office was notified of a problem with a pre-printed prescription form, on the day of the procedure(Friday). The doctors DEA number to have a prescription filled was incorrect. Instead of taking care of the problem they told the pharmacy they were wrong. Finally (after about 3 hours) found a number for new patients, the person on that line was very helpful and got call into the doctor. The doctor did call back and told me that it was bull **** that the DEA number was invalid. That's when we found out that the pre-printed number was wrong. Not that you could read the information because the office printed the prescription upside down so it printed through all the doctors and office information. However the doctor did not remember pulling 4 teeth the day before!! Called the office on Monday asked to be checked because of issues with the procedure. The office manager said that only the doctor that pulled the teeth could do a followup. She said he would be in again in 10 days would I like to schedule an appointment? This is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. Please spare yourself the pain and frustration of dealing with these people. It's not worth it!!! Find another dentist read more

I went in for a cleaning after seeing one of their ads. I didn't have to wait very long in the waiting room. The price was very good, but I guess you get what you pay for. They didn't clean my teeth very thoroughly at all. It was the fastest cleaning I've ever had. And then they spent a bunch of time trying to hard sell me all kinds of mouth washes for healthy gums and whitening. The whole reason I tried this company was their low promotional price. I tried to explain to them that I don't have money for all of this other stuff they were trying to sell me. They acted like I was insulting them for not buying their expensive products that I apparently "really needed." read more

The worst. I had an appt. for a cleaning. I waited 30 minutes and then a hygienist called me in. In the middle of the hall with no privacy she told me she had to cancel my appt. because she had an emergency and would not be able to see me. Could I return the next day? After I had waited 30 minutes in the crowded waiting room. I could not because I was going to take care of my grandchildren that day. We settled on a day the next week. My husband ended up needing outpatient surgery on the day scheduled so I had to change the appt. When I called, the girl was very nasty when I said I had to change my appt. I went to the Lake Worth Gentle Dental location for the first time last year. I had a few cavities so I got the VIP discount program since I don't have dental insurance. It was difficult to make appointments. My original hygienist was nice but I felt the cleaning and first appointment with the dentist was not worth the money. When it was time for my fillings to be done, I was nervous and the dentist was patient and nice about it. When I tried to make a same day emergency appointment a few months later, they were unable to get me in, even though with the VIP it says same day emergency appointments. The place is clean but there's hardly any privacy because there's so many stalls where people are being worked on. The last straw with this place was when I tried to schedule a cleaning and an exam before my VIP ran out. She made the appointment and I had to take off time from work because again, it was hard to get it. I get there and the receptionist rudely informs me that I don't have an appointment. She was able to squeeze me in and made it sound like it was my fault. The hygienist who did my cleaning seemed bothered that I was a squeeze in. They weren't able to do my exam. The schedule process with the VIP program is ridiculous. I will not be going back and don't recommend this Gentle Dental. read more

First, the positives. Sage Dental of LW, FL has the best dental hygienist I have ever experienced. That is the only reason I continue to go there. Her name is Faiza. The business end of this office is very poor. Repeatedly, I have had to print out and give them my insurance information clearly stating my responsibility for the diagnostic codes of the service. I have always paid my share yet they continually tell me that I owe more. Only after much discussion, do they finally realize that I do not owe anything above what I have already paid. Until recently, (June 2016), I have never received a bill. The first one was for over $5,000. When I called, they told me to forget it. The second one in July'16 was for over $4,000. Again, they led me to believe it would be worked out. I assured myself and my husband that this was the end of it as he was very upset. I called the insurance company and they assured me that they paid their share and they also spoke to the Sage office persons. Early this month, Aug., I received a bill for over $1,000. My husband and I have very good credit rating and I fear this will go into collections. I DO NOT OWE THIS OFFICE ANY MONEY! If they are not pleased with the insurance I have, they should drop them. Always looking beyond myself, I fear that persons not as savvy regarding their responsibility are being taken advantage of. I have tried to reach someone of some importance in your main office and am told they do not accept calls. I was told I have to speak with the office manager at the Sage Dental in LW. Well, I have left many messages for her to call me with no return call including this morning. Last week, (Aug. 11, 2016) I was told the office manager will work on Sat. (8/13/16) to review my case. I informed the office person to please tell the office manager that there is nothing to review and asked her to call me. They said she was at meetings and will call me after hours. Kept my phone with me through exercise class, dinner, etc. no call. I drafted a letter to the office manager and my husband went in person with my letter to the office last week, (Fri. 12th, 2016). The office manager told him she is working on Sat. especially to review my record. I owe nothing and requested a statement from them to that effect.Still waiting. From last Sat, the 13th, until today, still have not heard anything. This is extremely poor business practice. I have an appointment on Fri. 9/2/16 to see the doctor and get a cleaning. I do not want to change dental offices due to the wonderful medical care I receive both from the dental hygienist and the doctor. Please help with this situation. During my initial appointment, the dentist predictably recommended a deep cleaning for $380. I explained that I have had issues in the past with getting numb because drugs in the caine family seem to have little or no effect. This was dismissed as an attempt to be "special". Nevertheless, I convinced the dentist that I needed septocaine to be numbed. She administered 8 injections in the upper part of my mouth. After an hour, it began to wear off. I never lost mobility in my lips. During my final cleaning appointment, the dentist did not use septocaine - and did not tell me. I was given two nerve blocks in my lower jaw. My right side never got numb. Although I said no several times when the hygienist started scraping, and I winced every time she started, she refused to stop. She said, "You were right. This doesn't seem to do much for you." Despite agreeing that the numbing agent used was not doing its job, she continued to do hers while I had tears rolling down my face from the pain. Although I was supposed to be numb, I was able to talk to the hygienist without any problem. I asked her, "If you can't numb me for a deep cleaning, what would you do if I needed something more invasive like a filling?" She said, "I don't know. I was just thinking about that." I asked her if they use gas and she said yes, but it costs more. It would have been nice if they had given me the option of using gas from the beginning and simply explained that it would cost more. I would have gladly paid more to not be in pain. Unfortunately, this was never even presented as an option. I will not be back to Sage Dental of Lake Worth - or ANY Sage Dental. What was so disturbing was that I offered medical information about how I react to a certain family of drugs, but was not believed. I refuse to go back to a practice that will not listen to patients. There was no consideration for my comfort or well being. They were more interested getting the job done quickly without regard to my level of discomfort. Also, predictably, the hygienist recommended antibiotic treatments for an additional cost, of course. Once it was done, the deep cleaning cost me $575 out of pocket. This included a total of 3 visits with only about 15 minutes spent with the dentist. The rest of the time was spent with the hygienist. read more
