Every single locals told me to come to this restaurant. My first impression of this restaurant was very divvy, clean and bright. I love it. My server was super nice, helpful and cheerful. My food was amazing. They cooked my hash brown perfectly golden brown and extra crispy as I requested. Their coffee did not tasted burned like any other diners! Came here because friends recommended it. No complaints. I loved the old diner vibe (someone get Guy Fieri here) and all the decor. Service was so friendly and attentive. No complaints and no nonsense. Servings were huge. I absolutely loved the hotcakes and the stacker was so good. The chicken fried steak I got for my protein was crispy and not dry. I liked that the hash brown also had little cubes of potato (not all grated potato). The gravy was great too. I liked that it was sausage gravy. The biscuit was just okay but it did its job. Amazing breakfast here recently! We started off with a round of Bloody Mary's (mild - they do offer a spicy, but I'm always hesitant the first time) that came topped with the perfect appetizer of pickled snacks. For my entree, I ordered the steak and eggs. They did ask how I wanted my steak cooked, but it was far past medium. It still tasted good, and the hashbrowns and eggs made for the perfect bite. The hashbrowns were some of the best I've ever had as they were extra crispy! It also came with a serving of toast. Service was great, but a little dysfunctional, as in we were asked multiple times if we needed anything, etc. definitely airing on the side of extra service, which was good. Been here three times and it's been a bit underwhelmed each time. I really want to like it, but it's a bit spendy for what you get. Sunday morning I spent $54 bucks on two basic breakfasts and two cups of coffee. Service is hit and miss depending on who you get. I understand it gets a bit of a cult following, but I think you can get better breakfast in this town for the money. I don't think I'd return. Try Lil' Moon Diner in W. Richland. After we were seated, the service was amazing and quick. Ambiance The ambiance is definitely a unique one and one that I don't see very often. It does have its own charm. It is a smaller establishment with lots of tables, so one may find it a bit cramped on the inside. Other Notes With this restaurant, you do get a bill that you have to pay at the front (like Denny's) and their restroom is a bit weirdly located. In all my years of coming to Sageport, today was one for the books. We were originally seated near a couple of guests who... let's just say had a challenging aroma going on. We sat at the bar to escape it, and somehow, of course, they ended up right behind us again. At that point, even the staff were giving each other that look like, "yeah ... we smell it too." Our server stepped in like a hero and quietly moved us to a corner booth, no fuss, no awkwardness, just excellent problem-solving so we could actually enjoy our meal. And that right there is part of why I've always loved this place. The service and food are consistently great, and they handle things with a kind of care you don't see everywhere. On a Tuesday morning, my girlfriend and I were excited to explore breakfast options and decided to try this place. Although the small parking lot was packed, we managed to snag the last parking spot! Upon walking in, we noticed a few parties waiting to be seated, and after being informed that there would be about a 20-30 minute wait, we decided it was best to take a seat and wait for our table. I'm glad we did because when our order came out, the churro French toast absolutely blew us away! It was hands down the best French toast I've ever had--crispy, crunchy, and delicious. The biscuits and gravy were also pretty good, which added to the overall experience. However, I did want to mention that our host/waitress (in the fourth picture I took) seemed a bit rude and might have been having a rough day. One of my favorite places for comfort food and drinks. It's locally owned and has literally stood the test of time making it through the great depression and 15 presidents. It's not the fanciest and sometimes the wait for a table is FOREVER but it remains a go to for me when I'm in the Tri Cities. The food is always good and portions are over the top but everything about this local gem is over the top. There's carb heavy items, healthy options, breakfast, lunch and desserts. I always get a burger with a side of onion rings. Every single time it's cooked perfectly and loaded with fresh veggies and the onion rings are never greasy. The drinks are strong and seem to get stronger and bigger the longer you stay. The aesthetic is crazy eclectic and there's never a dull moment with restaurant staff or customers. Servers were great! However, the food was not good. My boyfriend ordered the biscuits and gravy. He said they tasted freezer burnt and left a bad after taste in his mouth. Portions of both our foods were overly salty, and the meat served on both our dishes has a lot of fat on it. I ordered the eggs Benedict it was pretty bad. The restaurant was very dirty! The decor has thick visible dust. That should have been our first sign to just leave and get McDonald's. I don't know how the restaurant was packed! We went to Sage Port Grille for the first time with our kids and gkids. Very unique, quirky little hold in the wall with excellent food. The only down side was the wait. And probably because we had 7 people we had to wait for 45 min. They also didn't have many gluten free options. I had the pulled pork hash which was out of this world! A good portion of pulled pork w sweet potatoes and 2 Poached eggs over the top. So delicious! It's def a repeater!! My hubby tried the sausage and eggs w a pancake. And the pancake was so good. A couple people Got the chicken and waffle nachos which is basically a waffle it up w pieces of chicken and siracha sauce on top. A little hot honey on the side. Add syrup and they were really loving it. My grandson thought it was a little too much siracha but our daughter loved it. Can't wait to go back.
