When they went to Gettington, it was represented that they would carry all the same as Sahalie had for years but they didn't. They phased out Sahalie standards. Been buying from them for years, at least 50 items. Very disappointed in Sahalie/Gettington or whomever they are. Does anyone know who might be carrying the Bella Coola lines? I ordered for the first time as a Christmas gift for my daughter-in-law. She had picked out this sweater on Sahalie's site--also her first time ordering. Although it appears to be a nice sweater (not really sure til you wash it), the sweater was HUGE. We were going to exchange for a smaller size (M) probably, but not sure. Found out there is a 9.99 return fee even for an even exchange. And, then there would be an additional fee of 9.99 to send back if the exchange didn't work out. That plus their original fee would add up to over half the price of the sweater!! Expensive way to try things on. Not really worth it when there are so many more customer friendly sites. The customer service sucks as does their lack of email "updates" on any order. The size chart is so off, MEDIUM is HUGE and so baggy and I am a 36-C. I paid a $5.00 FLAT RATE to ship (2) items but they are charging me $9.99 to ship the ginormous MEDIUM dress back. So, I pay $15.00 in shipping to end up with nothing? The tunic in MEDIUM is also HUGE so back it goes. The one email I got, the type was written over all the pictures, so I could not read the tracking or anything about it. Sahalie is great! I have bought their clothes for several years and was always pleased with the product and customer service. Until now. Sahalie was bought by Gettington and their quality, customer service, etc. has been awful! I will never buy from this company. Their catalogues do not include a phone number. Only a website. I found their phone number via Google. Beware that when you call Gettington their automated message just to get to Customer Service requires providing the last 4 digits of your social security number!!! I refused to do this and pressed 0/zero. The customer number on the back of my catalogue was "not valid" and because of thistheir automated phone system hung up on me! With a recent order I received by mistake shoes that I didn't order and didn't receive the dress that I did order. When I talked with the Customer Service rep she didn't understand what the problem was. I requested talking to her manager, who was a bit billigerent when I said that I didn't want to pay for shipping (again) in order to have the dress sent to me. Finally she gave in. However, she could not send the dress until they received the shoes. I sent in the shoes and never received any notice from Gettington. I finally called and the CSR (again) didn't understand the issue even when I told him to that it was supposedly documented in their computer system. Again I had to request talking to his manager. Some of the clothes are nice, and I like the headbands, but if I'm forced to pay outrageous shipping fees the least the company could do is ship the items in a timely manner. It too OVER A WEEK for the items to even be shipped out. I only ordered this time because even paying the shipping it was still a great price on the item I wanted, but at this point I wish I'd just cancelled the order the first time I was annoyed it hadn't shipped out yet. Ordered from another place two days after this order was placed and already received those items. Both companies are located on the East Coast and I am in Ca. Ok, so let me say that I really like the clothes from Sahalie. Last summer I lived in them. They have great headbands for sweaty summer activities, and I use them when I'm swimming in the ocean to keep the hair out of my eyes. Their shorts can be rolled up or down and are incredibly comfortable. Most of their items are made in the US, and I love that too. So for quality of their product, I would give them 5 stars. Now we can start knocking those stars off like plastic ducks in an arcade. First, their shipping rates are astronomical. I only shop from them when I have a great coupon or a free shipping offer. Last time I ordered, I paid $30 shipping for 2 pairs of shorts, 3 tees and two headbands. I could have paid someone to drive them from the factory to my house for that kind of money. Good thing I had that 25% off coupon. Second, they have the WORST customer service. Twice I ordered from them, then got a postcard in the mail asking me to call and verify my order. Once I had paid for expidited shipping and did not receive my items for a full month, and then only after four phone calls and three emails. Finally I got a women to cancel the original order and replace it. Holy cow, my three year old granddaughter can handle a computer better than these folks. Finally, as Susan O., the first reviewer said, they have this sneaky VIP program, which debits $14.97 out of your account every month for the privilege of reduced shipping costs. Are you kidding me? That's more than Netflix and I get a whole lot more out of that service than I ever would from Sahalie. I avoided this sandtrap, but my partner didn't see the tiny prechecked box in the corner of the screen. She had to get a pardon from Obama to take care of it. Yep, another three phone calls plus a "we can't remove this via email because it's not secure". That's three stars down, Sahalie, so get your act together! The big surprise came when the return fee was so outrageous at $16, I called immediately. The customer service could do nothing; the supervisor could do nothing. This site might be a fraud. Don't order items from them. Check Yelp reviews. If I had done that, I wouldn't place my order with them. I ordered a pair of boots on 11/25/2016 ( and received an email days later that the item is backordered until 12/26/2016. I waited patiently until 12/29/2016, heard nothing. I have been very attracted to many of their products for many years. However, the prices are usually way to high so I wait for a deep sale. I have had problems with them not having merchandise that I supposedly just purchased successfully. Two days ago, I purchased two sweaters at 50% off and free shipping. The confirmation email was empty so I have no order number. They have attempted to take money from Paypal but the link to the company in paybal gets a 404 error. I have contacted Customer Service two different ways by email and tried to talk to a person on the phone, but cannot get a human. THE WORST customer service. EVER!!!! Their 100% cotton sweats are great and super hard to find. I placed one order and swore I would never order form them again because of the horrific experience with customer service. I bought a dress that looked cute online but when it arrived (it took 2 weeks) it was very, very poor quality. I sent it back. The hook with this company is the shopping charges each way was enormous. That drives up what the real price so don't let them trick you in to thinking you're getting a bargain. You're not. I'm out $30 in shipping for somethings that, when they arrived, looked like them came out of a Goodwill bin. Plus the two things I've had from them (one was a gift)were just unwearable. Their customer service is awful. I wish it wasn't, because I love their clothes but they're not worth waiting several weeks for. If you place an order, it'll be a good 10-14 days before they even put it in the mail. That's assuming they don't send you a postcard instead asking you to call and verify the order. Terrible customer service. I had an online chat on the 23rd to find out why my order, placed the 16th, took several days to show it was "in process and was not yet in the mail. The rep's answer was essentially, that it doesn't have to be, because they were still within the delivery window. He repeated this, no matter what my question. He was unable to tell me when it would be in the mail. He was unable to ask anyone.. He was unable to access a supervisor. Customers deserve specific answers from people who know the business. Later in the day that I was looking for an update on my first order with zero info - I received an email later that day (but a week after purchase) , the next day it shipped and then I received the day after. Super quick. So a little over a week from initial order. The clothes are actually very nice for the price - very happy it worked out for me. But if my clothes didn't fit, I would have dreaded customer service. Think if this company had their act together w customer service, and low shipping fees they would have a better customer base. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Unfortunately all the reviews are correct...I wish I saw this before, I would not have ordered. I placed an order 5/10/17...just went on to the website to get an order update and it states that it cannot give me this information at the time. I searched my email and found the confirmation order number, went back to the site and tried looking it up that way (different page) and it states: We're sorry; we are unable to process your request at this time. I am a resident of NJ, a state where clothing is exempt from sales tax. Sahalie erroneously charged Sales Tax on a Scarf. I contacted Customer Service twice by e-mail and again by phone. I included the website for NJ Sales Tax Guidelines, and even cited the pages which indicate Scarves are clothing and NOT subject to tax. When I called, the representative (Dan) said there is no way they could correct the error in Sales Tax. If I use the prepaid postage label to return the item, I will be credited for the cost of the item & erroneous sales tax, LESS $9.99! I am talking about Sales Tax of less than $2.00! There are no Sahalie stores in NJ, so I cannot return the item in person. The Rep stated he would place a memo on my account, that when I returned the item, they would waive the $9.99 return postage fee. He could not confirm that by e-mail, nor would this "memo" show up on my account history. It would take several weeks after I returned the item before my credit card would allegedly show the full refund. After reading all the other ratings, I am reluctant to return the item and hope I will not be charged the $9.99, so I will have to just lose the cost of the erroneous sales tax. Sahalie, on the other hand, will lose a customer. I am sorry I did not read the many other negative Yelp reviews before ordering. I plan to write to the headquarters office in Oregon, and will attempt to cancel receipt of future Sahalie catalogs, as well as catalogs from their other companies, Blair, Norm Thompson, etc. read more

I don't know why there are so many complaints about Sahalie. I figured out the right size for me by referring to the size guide. I'm 5'4", 135 lbs, average figure, 36B and I fit into a medium. Cotton tees like Saturday Market tees I get a large because cotton shrinks and this style runs smallish. As for dresses, I get a small or medium, depending on the style, if tight-fitting or loose. For tops made of polyester/spandex, I get a medium or medium petite, depending on the length of the top. read more

Terrible customer service; not nice to deal with this company at all. I like their butter fleece products, but unfortunately their promo codes didn't really apply even after it was accepted by the online ordering system. There is no way to quickly go back and cancel the order and now will have to wait until their customer service opens during normal business hours. I was also enrolled in the 'Sahalie Rewards program', without my knowledge and didn't notice the charge until after several months. When I called though, they were very respectful and said they would cancel and refund, which they did. However, the monthly charges are still coming in and I need to get on the phone with them again. SHAM Company! Buyer Beware! I ordered a Bella Coola Dress - the signature dress of Sahalie - and was shipped a CURTAIN! Yes, a curtain! A polyester swag in dusty rose worth about $4. I called Customer Service - and was told the only way to have this problem corrected - was for me to ship the curtain back (for a $9.99 fee) and once they received it and processed the return, they would ship another dress to me! This would likely take 2 - 3 weeks. Incredulously, they requested my credit card number to do so, because the dress is no longer on sale and the $9.99 return fee must be processed!!! I was then transferred to a supervisor who informed me of a second option - I could rebuy the dress today (at the higher price) and then they could process the return when they received the curtain! I ordered their signature product - was shipped a flea market curtain - and all Customer Service could do was ask for my credit card number! What a SHAM! Then they kept claiming the other stuff was back ordered eventually 3 other items came, the last one 2 weeks after Christmas. I've ordered clothes from Sahalie over the past few years. I like that they have petite sizes and the clothes are cute, althought the sizing is weird and they run small. That being said, I will repeat what many reviewers have said here, the shipping costs are unreasonable. I paid $30 to try on some slippers, none of which fit so have to send them back. Terrible customer service, I went back and forth with them via email when I was just trying to get garment measurements, somehow they couldn't figure out that 'chest' is the same as 'bust'.
