Ordering counter

I was really looking forward to checking out this spot, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to expectations. We ordered the chicken shawarma and falafel platters. Both came with a side of hummus, salad, tahini, garlic sauce, hot sauce, and bread. The chicken shawarma came with rice as well. Sadly, the chicken shawarma lacked flavor--it felt pretty bland and didn't have the seasoning kick you expect from good shawarma. The falafel was better in terms of flavor, but it had been fried a bit too long, which made it greasy and hard. For the price, it didn't deliver what I was hoping for. It's located next to the Little Arabia shopping center and there are a couple of tables if you want to eat there.

Falafel Plate & Mix Kabab Plate

Generous portions & flavorful kababs! We finally tried this spot thanks to a coupon on Doordash & it hit the spot. The chicken & lamb kababs were well-seasoned- you can really taste all the herbs & spices used; it was unique to us and a little different from other spots, but we enjoyed it. Hummus was nice & creamy, and we appreciated the extra pita included! Our only critique was that the falafel was on the drier side, but some extra garlic & tahini sauce did the trick there. We'll be back for the kabab plates~

Vegetarian Plate

I was craving falafel and needed some fiber after a long road trip. Luckily, this spot was open late. I ordered on the phone at 11:30pm and arrived around 11:45pm. I decided to go for the vegetarian plate. Based on photos on Yelp, I thought I would come with two falafel's, but it came with 4! I ordered two falafels on the side just in case, and those came with some salad. The order was ready on time. They gave me 3 pieces of pita in a bag, which I think was due to it being so late at night. The falafel could have been crispier, but it satisfied my craving. I liked the thin pickles. The baba ganoush with my favorite thing in the plate. I'm not a huge fan of the parsley salad, although it was fresh. I wish the hummus was more seasoned. I haven't tried many Mediterranean places in the area, so I'm not sure what I could compare it to, but that was a decent late night meal.

wow Shawarma!!! If any one really understands what does Taste means , then definitely I recommend you to try Sahara Falafel . Must try it. It's really mouth watering food. They choose shawarma ingredients for the best flavor and of course for stomach healthy food. Many people make shawarmas but taste is not in everyone's hand. So go to Sahara Falafel then you will FEEL what I wrote about shawarma here for you . Bcoz I am taste lover and I know what taste means . Not by words but practically by taste of food. Owner is very nice humble person and whatever you want from him , he will make accordingly for your taste. TRY

Best Falafel in Anaheim! Ask for parsley instead of lettuce in the falafel sandwich, if you like it how they make it in Lebanon. Their hot sauce is sooo good too! Small cafe but very clean inside. The service was fast and the people working are so nice. The worker gave me a free water bottle while I waited since it was hot out and I didn't buy a drink. I will drive here from the valley just to eat here again.

My favorite shawarma spot of all time. I've been coming here with my family since I was a toddler. The chicken shawarma sandwich is my go-to order. The owner is an absolute legend and he's so kind to customers. Definitely give this spot a try!!

Chicken pita. Extra pita lol

This is a tiny little place in a tiny little strip mall. I was excited to try because it's a mom & pop type place and has lamb. I got a chicken and a lamb pita sandwich and a side of hummus. My cousin and I thought everything was just ok. The hummus didn't have much flavor, nor did the lamb and the chicken was a bit dry and seemed to have double the pita bread. Not sure I'd go back when there are so many other places in that area. Service was ok, the man behind the counter was polite.

Dear Shaheer Thank you for your question! Yes all the meat are halal ( chicken, lamp & beef).…

Do they have any gluten free options?

Do you have a unit number?

Hi , No , we don’t have unit number

This is place has the best shawerma and falafel I've eaten here in U.S. I'm just curious, what specifically is this cuisine (i.e. Lebanese, Turkish)?

It's only about 7 minutes from the parks, making it the perfect lunch or dinner spot if you're craving something flavorful that won't leave you feeling heavy. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The spinach pastry was hands down my favorite, perfectly flaky with a delicious savory filling. The potato pastry was a close second and just as satisfying. If you visit, don't skip the pastries! We also tried the steak and chicken kebab combo plate, and both were cooked perfectly. The chicken was especially tender, juicy, and seasoned beautifully. You can actually watch the meat being cooked fresh in the back, which made the whole experience feel even more authentic. I ordered the veggie plate with falafel, baba ganoush, tabbouleh, hummus, and tahini sauce, and every single item was delicious. The falafel really stood out. It had a perfectly seasoned, crispy exterior with a soft, flavorful center. Dipping it into the baba ganoush, hummus, and tahini made every bite even better. One of my favorite things was that the meal was incredibly satisfying without feeling greasy or overly heavy. It was fresh, filling, and packed with flavor, but I still felt great afterward. The staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, and the service was impressively fast. They also have a great selection of Mediterranean spices if you want to bring some of those incredible flavors home. Huge compliments to the chef and the entire team. Between the fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, generous portions, and excellent service, Zait Zataar has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorite Mediterranean restaurants. I'll absolutely be coming back!

I placed an online order for the baked fish plate around 12:45 PM and expected a bit of a wait since it was fish. After waiting about 25 minutes, I called and was told it would be another 10-15 minutes. The restaurant was busy, so I understood. However, after waiting longer and checking inside twice, my order still wasn't ready and there seemed to be confusion about its status. In total, I waited close to an hour for an order that was placed online in advance. What bothered me most was seeing customers who ordered in person receive their food before me. It felt like my online order had been overlooked. If online ordering is offered, those orders should be monitored and fulfilled properly, especially during busy times. The food itself was good, but the plate could have been put together better. The fries were placed directly on top of the fish, which made them soggy and took away from the presentation. It would make much more sense to serve the fries on the side. Overall, the food is still good, but the long wait, confusion with the online order, and lack of attention to presentation make me hesitant to rely on the online ordering system again.

The service was wonderful; they constantly brought out warm, pillowy pita and kept checking on us without being intrusive. Unimportant, but if it matters to you: they don't serve alcohol. they do have this amazing yogurt drink you can have with food (Super good for digestion). However, at the end of your meal, you get this stunning, thick, dark coffee that is pure magic and works like a total defibrillator. LOL. Seriously, it's incredible. My former boss is from Syria and highly recommended this spot, but he never made the drive down--he really missed out. At this point, I'm counting the days until we return because everything is fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor. Seriously - great. My former boss was from Syria and came highly recommended, but never made the drive down. At this point, I'm counting the days until we return here again, because everything is fresh, flavourful, and vibrant. Here's what we ordered: Sampler - Housemade hummus was spectacular, the baba ghanouj was so savory and a bit smokey, and the falafel was warm, wonderfully spiced and not dry at all. I also HAD to try the kibbeh, never had before - amazing, so delicate, light, not overfried or oily at all. The spices inside were so wonderful, especially when pairing with some of the dips. Mixed grill : The meat was exceptionally good, tender, perfectly grilled, and juicy. The rice was fluffy, buttery, and fragrant. Mixed seafood grill: Delectable. The fish was beautiful grilled and lightly spiced to allow the delicate fish to shine through. I am no expert at this type of cuisine, but I've eaten plenty of Middle Eastern and Armenian food, and you really can't go wrong with rice and grilled meats - it's in our blood! PS: I personally love a bit of sumac on my rice and meat, lovely, bright, sour note that is very pleasing with this food. Thank you for the wonderful service and amazing food. We loved it. I wish we had this exact place in South OC.
