Might be the most frustrating menu to order from, and you have to do it on a kiosk. I wanted a full order of Alexandrian beef liver sandwich but with the French bread instead of the pita. The way their kiosk menu is setup, this was not possible to order. The two people working there were clueless and unhelpful. One didn't even try, I guess he didn't know English. I had to be in Fullerton again, so I took some time to look on Yelp to figure out what I would have for lunch the night before. While I was scrolling through places, I saw an Egyptian place. I've never had Egyptian food before, so I really wanted to give it a try. Last night, I thought of ordering the beef brains, but I chickened out and instead ordered the hawawshi with cheese instead. It was made to order and even though it took a while to make (since it was made from scratch), the taste of it was absolutely phenomenal. Everything was packed with delicious spices and flavors. The spices are different compared to like a Halal guys and other places but that's what makes this place different. I wanted to get a variety of meats to try and after talking to the owner he recommended the beef shawarma fattah. Beef Shawarma Fattah ($26 - Large / $21- Regular) - I got the large size not realizing the quantity was too much, 2 people could have eaten this. This came with a roasted bread base, rice on top, beef shawarma meat, garlic sauce and 2 sides (I went with eggplant and a salad). The beef was on the drier side and had a slight charcoal taste to it. The rice had a spicy tomato sauce mixed in. Overall, I thought the beef was just ok. I did feel it was over priced. I did try a little of my co-worker's chicken plate ($19) and while the chicken was tender, it didn't have much in the way of flavor other than some charcoal taste. The beef kofta was my favorite of all the meats. It was spiced well and tasted great. The lamb kabob was my least favorite. It was a tad hard and wasn't my thing. Personally, I don't think the portions are big for the price. It seemed a little pricier to me, so not as much of a value proposition. However, they do make everything fresh. Then, the auto-tip (somewhere in the 16-18 percent range). I love tipping and, if this was a full-service restaurant, I would have tipped even more. One thing I love as well, is the detail to the quality of how crisp the fries were on the outside to compliment the tenderness of the meat. The rice is well seasoned and the bread is so good! The owner, Remon, is very nice and helpful. First time I came here was around Christmas, and the boss himself was there. The guy who helped me yesterday didn't really understand anything I was asking him. Luckily I had an idea of what I wanted to try this time. No worries, the food was great as always. TL;DR: Owner is incredibly cold to Too Good to Go orders. Owner touched trash, himself, and then my food. Not coming back. Ordered a blind bag on Too Good to Go. Was treated very poorly by the owner himself. He appeared to have a chip on his shoulder that I was a Too Good to Go order and didn't say a single word to me until he gave me the food. Mind you, he was handling trash with his bare hands to help an employee. Without missing a beat, he went to the line and adjusted his pants, touched his face, and then my to-go container lid. He continued to adjust his pants and scratch other parts of his body until my food came out. No "thank you" and no real acknowledgment other than the outstretched arm with the bag of food. The general vibe was "F-off." First visit was so positive...I don't know WTH his problem was. read more
