I found my Maggie Sottero wedding dress at My White Wedding, which took me by surprise because (1)…read moreit was only my second stop on my first day of shopping for dresses, and (2) I hadn't expected to find anything in such a small boutique. My White Wedding is one of the tiniest shops I've ever been to (with the dressing area taking up nearly an eighth of the entire space) but Rebecca, the owner, has a decent selection with a trained eye for couture. My experience with her was fine, though certainly not the best. She is eager to say things like, "We do a really great job here" or "We know what we're doing" to get you on board with a sale but came off feeling pushy instead of warm. I ordered my dress in March for an October wedding, assured that it would come in by June or July, but it didn't come in until early September. The entire time, I received nary a call or any extension of reassurance from Rebecca, and anytime I called for updates, I was only told that it was on its way. Finally, when it arrived in early September, I was the one biting my nails nervously and calling to remind her that I needed to make appointments for alterations, and only then were we able to get the ball rolling. If I hadn't been on top of my game, I don't know that Rebecca would have reached out. Alterations appointments are only done on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which made things a little difficult to schedule, and since I really only had a month to get everything done, we had to really squeeze the appointments in to do at least three visits. The cost of alterations, of course, is an added charge atop the cost of the dress and I really had to haggle things down with Rebecca to bring the total amount down to fit my budget. Later, when I decided to add sleeves to the dress, there was an added cost of $179. So be aware - anything and everything you want to do with your dress will run you a pretty penny. Rebecca has partnerships with several folks, one of which is Eileen, who does all alterations. She was a true highlight of my experience with My White Wedding - sweet, patient, and expert with her work. She not only trimmed down my train extensively (a risky endeavor but my dress had a train that was too long for my taste) and made it look like it hadn't been retouched at all, but she was able to use the lace she cut out to add seamless straps after studying a picture I showed her of what I wanted. In the end, the dress turned out better than I could have dreamed. Rebecca also works with a hair and makeup artist and she tried to get me to have a trial with her during my earlier visits, but after reading some reviews on this Yelp page of her substandard work, I cancelled my appointment. If the wedding dress selection is already trimmed down, really lower your expectations for bridesmaids dresses and gowns for mothers. There are two or three racks of both, and the selection was quite poor. My mom was searching for her own dress for the wedding and quickly decided to go elsewhere because she could only find one or two that was "just okay", and both of them ran well into the three-hundred dollar mark. I feel torn about recommending My White Wedding to other brides. I loved, loved, loved my wedding dress and I adore Eileen, so I feel confident that anyone who finds a dress here will be in good hands with her, but I wasn't nearly as keen on my dealings with Rebecca, who made the experience feel cold, businesslike, and the nervousness of waiting to hear about my dress was certainly something I could have done without. If you plan on making a visit or if you've already purchased a dress here, I'd advise you to really be on top of your game so that your special gown will be ready on time.

She body shamed the customer for not having a flat stomach and insisted that she buy a larger size despite the sample in a smaller size already being too big. Imagine bringing your younger daughter here for a prom dress or flower girl dress and having her be spoken to like this. I don't think giving customers a complex about their bodies when they are shopping for some of the happiest days in their lives is part of the David's Bridal job description. NEGATIVE -----TEN STARS. BEWARE…read more Future brides, If you want a Drama-free wedding, I urge you to NOT make this your bridal shop. LOOK ELSEWHERE. There are PLENTY of bridal shops that will carry just the same brand and variety of gowns with BETTER staff, if not more. I purchased a wedding gown from Charisol Bridal and the store's own tailor had completed a hemming job on my dress on my sleeves and the bottom of the skirt. Dissatisfied with the job they had provided me with, I decided to pick up the dress from Charisol Bridal to have it looked at by another independent tailor. Upon trying the dress on at the new tailor's, I noticed the hemline at the bottom was uneven with a portion of it at the front shorter than the rest (SEE PHOTO). I also found a stain on the front of the dress even though I have not taken the dress out of the original bag until that time. I reached out to the manager at Charisol Bridal who told me that there is nothing she could offer to mend the issue rather than to "listen to [us]" over the phone. I asked for a better solution and the manager later called back offering two solutions for the problem: 1) provide me with the refund for the tailoring job, which is $450 OR 2) order an entirely new gown from the designer. I opted to get the full refund of $450 for the tailoring since the wedding was very close and I will be out of the country for a full month before then. The manager was made aware and had agreed to refund me a full amount of $450 + any cleaning fee for the stain. She proceeded to take my credit card number down for the refund which I provided. I was contacted the day after (today 4/12/19) by "Mike" from the shop (owner) saying that this is not their responsibility and that they have contacted the designer for a new dress. I was very upset and dissatisfied that 1) they did not offer me the refund that they had offered even after taking my credit card information over the phone 2) they have requested a new dress to be shipped from the designer fully aware that the bride will be unavailable and WITHOUT ASKING ME. At this time, I am left with a bill from my new tailor of $700 to undo all the previous tailoring done at Charisol Bridal and to tailor the dress all over again with Charisol Bridal Boutique refusing to refund me any money for the botched tailoring job they had done. UPDATE: just called the shop to make a quick visit at the shop to resolve the issue in person, my mom started the conversation pleasantly, then Mike the owner asked "What do you want for your wedding?" and when my mom began to answer, he cut her off constantly, infuriating my mother. My mom asked "why do you ask us what we want if you are not going to listen?" he replied "resolve this matter on YOUR OWN" really? my mom got upset, things got heated up and then he started accusing my mother of using INFORMAL KOREAN LANGUAGE. Done with even trying to put up with their refusal to admit to their own mistakes and failing to give us the refund they verbally agreed to (this is held against them by the Better Business Bureau). She brought me one gown by said designer and by the expression on her face I could tell she didn't approve of how it looked on me. When I took out my phone and asked her to take a picture of me in the gown, she said photos are not allowed. What?! What century is she from? You can find photos of any designer's collection online and most boutiques carry the same styles. It was not an exclusive to their store! I ended up buying a different gown from the same designer elsewhere. Now my younger son is getting married and I definitely will not be returning to Mieka. Judging from the reviews, the Greenvale store has better customer service. If you must, go there, and avoid the Woodbury location.
