We are not experienced boaters, but that wasn't an issue because the staff provided a quick training on how to drive the boat. Unlike many other company's renting boats in the area, you can rent for an hour if you want. Many other require 3-4 hour minimums, which can get pricey, especially if you'd prefer a short excursion. There is free parking there and the pontoon we rented had a bluetooth system for playing music too. You can't beat their prices, so overall value is A+ in my book. If I'm in the ATX area again, I'll return.

I understand not allowing outside food and drinks, but not allowing guests to bring in their own water doesn't seem reasonable, especially in the Texas heat. Bottled water costs $3 each, and there's no good way to keep it cold throughout the day. There really should be accessible, free cold drinking water or refill stations available for guests. On such hot days, having easy access to drinking water shouldn't be a concern.

He is exactly 42" tall, so he was eligible to ride three of the four big slides, but he was content to simply play on the pirate ship for toddlers, which he enjoyed very much. We didn't enter the restaurant or try the food truck but we were happy to find a little snow cone vendor. Then we waded in the lake briefly before watching the fireworks from the beach. This is not a corporate water park like some of the others in the Austin area -- if that's what you want or expect, look elsewhere. If you want to take a beautiful drive out to Lake Travis and enjoy some time swimming on a little lakefront beach and perhaps riding a few waterslides, playing volleyball, eating at the restaurant, then this place might be more your speed. It's clearly been around for a while and it's not 100% cosmetically perfect, but for a small, locally-owned place, it's about as well maintained as you could expect, and the sunset is pretty great! Our only interaction with the staff was at the front gate, but they were super kind to us. Four stars overall. Really, my only complaints were with other guests -- it felt a little crowded due to the holiday, and wherever we sat, neighbors would soon claim a nearby spot and begin smoking or playing music from a wireless speaker with lyrics that I don't want my young kid repeating (a racial slur, specifically). Maybe this is already against park policy, and if so, it's partially on me for not reporting it. The firework show itself was good overall, but there was a brief moment that felt absolutely crazy. A few minutes in, what seemed like dozens of fireworks exploded almost simultaneously and very close to the ground, if not on the ground itself. It seemed like a chain-reaction / feedback loop. We were at a safe distance on the beach, but I can imagine it would have been frightening for people floating on the water near the launch site. When it ended, there was a small fire burning near the launch site, although it seemed like it was contained quickly by a single person. Meanwhile, fireworks continued from other launch sites. We stayed only 10 minutes more, and could still see fireworks from the car as we drove away. I wonder whether anyone else who attended had a better sense of what happened, or if the owners could share more information to clear the air? These things sometimes happen at firework shows I'm not suggesting that anything could have been done to avoid it. But personally, I would find it reassuring if there was a statement providing more information.

I don't even know where to start. Being that I am someone that absolutely freaks out with snakes…read moreand can tolerate lizards, this place actually made it interesting and enjoyable. I seriously was so intrigued by the vast variety of snakes and reptiles that it removed my fidgety fear. This place is extremely large, there are so many twists and turns and rooms and stairs and sections, it's probably what made it so interesting. Each area is separated by region of the world that the snakes, lizards, and turtles are from. You will experience different climates, some areas are much hotter, some are a bit cooler, some have more humidity. Walking through here makes you feel like you are in an episode of National Geographic. I never thought I would be so up close and personal with some of these reptiles. The really cool part is that they have an incubation room when you walk in where they have all of the eggs of the next generation getting ready to hatch! I even got a video of a lizard eating some baby possums, which was both gross and cool, simply the cycle of life for those of you that might freak out, everyone's gotta eat! We got to talk to the owner, who is a super interesting guy and has been all over the world and lived in South America. He gave us so much information on the different snakes, he is like a walking encyclopedia. I think we spent almost an hour walking through all of the different sections and looking at the different species, again, I reiterate, as someone who has a crazy fear of snakes, I actually enjoyed this reptiles zoo, honestly, it was a bit breathtaking at how amazing it was to watch so many beautiful species of reptiles. If you are coming from San Antonio, it is about 40 minutes north of 281 in Bulverde.

We have learned that taking the VIP bus is more our speed. We can have a drink on the bus and the group is usually pretty cool. They are so organized. We arrive at the pickup spot, check in, have a drink and it's all done seamlessly. Hannah was a great bus host. She's spot on keeping us informed where we are and what to do when we arrive. She goes over rules and policies related to being on the river and trespassing rules. They always do a great job and I'll be doing it again next year.

We really were looking forward to this, and specifically came to Austin for tubing (versus the other idea for a trip we had which was the beach. In hindsight, we should've flown to California instead. No one would be able to forget us that way.) Other companies had their groups successfully picked up and whisked away by their tour vans. (austin detours was one). We flew here and bought a 12 pack for 2 of us and ended up lugging around cans of beer through downtown Austin for no reason. If our trip was a little bit longer this might be less disappointing. However, I couldn't recommend this company. Unless you wanted to wait an hour for zero reason at all. At least if I booked Austin detours I'd be on the river. It just makes me so sad thinking about the multiple groups of us sitting around at that bar waiting for essentially no reason and no communication. Do not. Book. The river raft.

The campsites are set on top of each other, therefore you will be within 10ft of another group. This would be fine if your neighbors are respectful. The restrooms (portapotties) weren't very clean either. However, the campsites did have plenty of shade, a table, campfire, and bbq grill. Could be a cool place if you're lucky enough to be near good people. We ended up leaving in the middle of the night. Unfortunately no refunds :(
