*This review is not a reflection of their food as we were not able to actually dine here and is purely based on the service and complete lack of hospitality. We attempted to dine here twice, once for dinner as a group of 10 and once for brunch as a group of 7. For dinner we attempted to call to check availability. The restaurant does not have a direct line and when you call you are transferred to the front desk of the hotel. When we told them we were interested in checking the availability we were put on hold and eventually got a hold of the restaurant in which we inquired about availability. They told us they would give us a call back and after about an hour of waiting, we were finally told it was not a possibility, completely understandable as it was a last-minute attempt. The next morning, prior to us leaving on our flight, we decided we would pop in to see if we could get brunch. The hostess checked, grabbed 7 menus and was preparing to seat us, then whom I'm assuming is a manager came rushing upfront, whispered something in her ear in which she promptly turned to us and said that it was fully booked (despite the place being a ghost town) and we were told to eat somewhere else. It was very clear that we were being turned away because we were more causally dressed (athleisure and casual two piece sets)...though I couldn't find anywhere online or posted inside about a dress code. On their website site they market themselves as convivial, leisurely, and unmistakably hospitable. But for us they were unfriendly, uppity, and unmistakably rude. read more

Overall, amazing food & dining experience. We legit cleared all the dishes we ordered. We started w the Burrata which was interesting with the pickled cucumber, and the Bitter green & fennel salad which was so fresh, tangy and fragrant. The focaccia was great too! We thought we were back in nyc Then we had cavatelli sardi & campanella. Cavatelli was cooked al dente, and the flavor was good with the right amount of spice. It balanced well with Campanella, which was lightly citrusy & creamy, reminding me of the avgolemono soup. It had small chunks of shredded chicken which was hearty and delicious. The campanella was cooked a bit soft but I loved it for its comfort. Our meal finished strong with the lemon olive cake which was divine! The service and the ambiance was great too. :) read more

Interesting name. When I looked it up St Bibiana is a Roman virgin martyr. Fortunately you want be a martyr if you dine here because the experience is fabulous. Located in the Hotel Bardo in what used to be the Mansion on Forsyth it's a charming yet lively place. They told us they've been open for 3 months. Started with the prosciutto and figs which was fine. We tried two pastas. The spaghetti pomodoro (we omitted the pesto because of a nut allergy in the party) in which you can really taste the basil. The black pepper torchiette was divine! The Branzino was fabulous as well. The Diver sole was excellent although the filet was thicker than I'm accustomed to. For dessert both the lemon olive oil cake and the butterscotch budino were great and definitely worth the calories. Would highly recommend read more

Wandered in here alone one night and asked if they had a spot for me for dinner. Brigitte could not have been more kind and gracious. Meredith was my server and she could not have been sweeter. I had a wonderful appetizer (bruschetta) a lovely pomodoro pasta and glass of Pinot. Not only was everyone so nice, I never felt out of place having a meal alone. We're currently vacationing in Savannah with two of our boys for Amy's birthday. The last time we were here, it was just the two of us--and before leaving, we stopped into the hotel Bardo for a drink at Saint Bibiana. We were impressed by the ambiance and encouraged by the bartender to return for a full dining experience. Unfortunately, this return visit left us incredibly disappointed. Let me start with the few positives. The hostess was gracious and did her best to expedite our seating after a mix-up where our table was prematurely given away. She was sincerely apologetic and got us re-seated quickly, which we appreciated. The real standout of the night was our server, Tristan. He was knowledgeable, warm, and professional--offering thoughtful wine suggestions and demonstrating a great understanding of the menu. Sadly, the highlights end there. From the moment we arrived, it was apparent that what looked to be the floor manager or maître d' had no interest in welcoming guests or assisting staff. His demeanor was cold and confrontational--not once did we see him offer help, smile, or give clear direction. For a high-end restaurant, this kind of leadership sets the wrong tone. As for the food, it was mostly forgettable--and at times, flat-out unacceptable. * The grilled calamari was sparse and uninspired, though the dressing had a nice touch. * A garden salad recommended by Tristan was light, but completely underwhelming. * The cacio e pepe croquettes were nicely crisped but lacked flavor altogether. * The pastas were bland and unremarkable. * The steak, which we were told was one of the highlights of the menu, arrived overcooked and cold. But the most upsetting part of the evening was a serious dietary issue. We clearly stated that one of our sons has a tree nut allergy. We confirmed with Tristan that the pasta dish selected did not contain pesto or nuts. Unfortunately, a few bites in, my son lifted the pasta to find a layer of pesto beneath. Tristan quickly addressed it and assured us that the chef informed him that the pesto had been prepared nut-free--even though it wasn't listed on the menu. Not trusting the entire situation we traded dishes. Still, my son had a reaction about an hour later while we were out for ice cream. This is not just a mistake--it's a serious safety issue that no reputable restaurant should allow. Adding to the chaos, no course was served in unison. At every point in the meal, at least one of us was left sitting awkwardly without food while others were eating. Dishes arrived inconsistently, often cold. Throughout this, the manager sat idly by, offering no apologies, no oversight, and no sense of urgency. Saint Bibiana has all the appearances of a refined dining experience, but none of the follow-through. The system is clearly broken. And while Tristan did his best to make the night work, one person can't patch up a ship with this many holes. As someone who's spent a fair share of time in the service industry, I can confidently say that unless there's a serious shake-up in leadership and operations, Saint Bibiana is heading toward a steep decline. Reputation can only carry you so far. Here's hoping Tristan finds a restaurant where his talent is matched by the support and leadership he deserves. read more

Stood at the front door for 5 minutes before the host came over to us. If you are going to make people wait, don't put the hostess stand in a place where we will get hit by the door everytime it opens. Asked if we would like to sit at a table near the bar that would have been hard to eat at, and then was told they don't have a table for 2, do we want to wait, and we said we had a reservation. She went to talk to her manager and then walked us into an empty room with 4 tables of 2 empty. We then sat for close to 15 minutes before a waiter came over to us, we had to ask for one. we did go on Thanksgiving but it wasn't that crowded and it seemed inexcusable. I will say the food is delicious so I understand why people come but if you do eat here be sure to pack your patience. read more

I love how the restaurant has a number of different seating areas. We went for our anniversary while staying at the Bardo. We had a long day and were worn out before dinner! As a result, we wanted a quiet area where we could chill, enjoy some nice drinks, each other's company, and great food. Saint Bibiana did not disappoint. The service was very good and while we were nibbling our way through the appetizers, the cocktails definitely hit the marks. We enjoyed the octopus, and the oysters. We both had fish, Branzino and Salmon, both of which was well prepared and well presented. It was a great evening and we will definitely be back next time we are in Savannah and staying at the Bardo. read more

I went into Saint Bibiana for a girls dinner and loved it! The restaurant is beautiful with dim lights and eclectic decor that creates a really elevated experience. Our server was really great. One of his tables was clearly stressing him out and he still handled our table professionally. There was also another server ready to jump in whenever we needed help. The food was also some of the best we had on the entire trip! I had the cavatelli and loved it! It's my favorite type of pasta and their homemade vodka sauce was to die for. Their tiramisu was the best I've ever had, with salted caramel that was delicious. We also had the bruschetta, which was definitely unique in flavor but good nonetheless. read more

Got to dine there last night for an anniversary dinner. I will say I am very impressed by this place. The remodel made it gorgeous space. We sat in a small library-esque space and it was perfect. It was intimate while also not feeling away from the activity of the restaurant. Grace was our server and she was well versed on the menu and provided excellent service. All the servers helped each other and made our experience wonderful. The food was superbly delicious. We had the Italian broad beans, arinici appetizers, mezzeluna mushroom pasta and porchetta. Truly every bite was delicious. Sadly I fed my face faster than I fed my camera so the photos don't sell it as good as it should but it was so delicious I'm willing to take that hit. This place has huge room for improvement. The service is less than mediocre. It seemed like multiple people just kept coming by asking if we wanted more water because the fish and pasta we ordered were taking a very long time. Our entrees did not come out together. They brought out our salad and it took 45 minutes after that to get the fish. Another 20 mins & then the pasta. 10 more minutes and then the side vegetables. Several tables that came after us had their meals served before we did. Not sure if they just had an off day but I'm not feeling inspired to return or bring friends and family for this experience. The location is beautiful but if you are just coming for the history and the nice view it is overpriced. There are other tasty places to have a great dining experience & have Italian food. I would bypass this place until they figure out how to provide better service. read more

Bread service and the ambiance of the restaurant is what stuck out to me that made this place great. Don't get me wrong, the food is fantastic but their bread service is unforgettable. Even the balsamic and olive oil dip was great. The restaurant encourages you to share which I do too if you're the type to try multiple things. Pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce is their take on vodka sauce but I think they add a pork paté to make it more flavorful. Steak had a great sear with no grey line and a wonderful salsa verde. Another highlight of the nice is the Mediterranean Branzino which had a great crust and sauce to pair. Highly recommend this place for a date night or even group setting as they have great seating for both! Overall, this place is great for a special occasion and it's worth the money spent. read more

Absolutely delicious, delightful dinner at Saint Bibiana in Savannah, GA. The service was professional, friendly and on point. We enjoyed being taken care of by Daniel and Sharon especially, though everyone was welcoming and keen for us to enjoy all aspects of our dining experience. We had a sampling of the appetizers (the calamari and sauce, yum!) and a few pasta dishes (as recommended by our servers); not one disappointed. Excellent array and variety of tastes. Do not skip the bread either. I don't usually partake in desserts, but they brought out one for my birthday, and my partner and I devoured it. My girlfriend had to get a second cocktail while I drank a second glass of the Spanish version of Pinot Noir. We left sated and determined to return again soon. I heard on one of my tours that a New York company had acquired the parent hotel, Hotel Bardo, recently for a cool $54 million, so I'm pretty sure that whatever the old reviews have to say about the restaurant don't necessarily qualify anymore. Perhaps they are now working towards a Michelin star? I won't be surprised should they be awarded one in the future. Ordered the bread basket that was underwhelming with 2 regular croissants and 1 chocolate croissant - nothing special and not worth getting. The egg white frittata was very good as was the mushroom pasta. The buckwheat pancakes were okay but not something I'd order again. We came here the morning of our wedding as a special brunch and it was outstanding. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food was delicious. I had the avocado bruschetta and my fiancé had the burnt end hash, and we both loved our dishes. It was kind of busy and it was nice when other members of staff checked on us when our server was busy. You can tell that they really take pride in their service. This is a beautiful restaurant with luxury decor, a stunning bar, moody lighting. It was very loud (we were there on a Friday night) luckily we were given a table in a corner. One thing to keep in mind is you will be charged $30 a person if you cancel your reservation. Service was what we expected for a hotel restaurant, drinks were a bit expensive but the food was very tasty. All in all I might go back for lunch or brunch but probably not dinner. read more

We weren't able to get reservations, but there was room at the bar. We had a great bartender who suggested an old fashioned, it was on point! The remodeling from 700 Drayton was beautiful. They went all out. My favorite part was the large, four- sided bar and the round table in the tower window. We ordered the octopus salad, heirloom tomatoes, spaghetti pomodoro e pesto and my hubby had the bucatini con me sarde. The lemon pound cake for dessert. All amazing! Burrata had too much going on with it. The Kalamata olives and pickled cucumbers did not really compliment the burrata in my opinion. Instead, it overpowered it. The pasta caught our eye because of the pesto but the way it was presented does not allow for that flavor to come through. Pasta was cooked well and sauce was simple but tasty. I want to start this by saying once we sat down, the service was great and our server was kind and helpful! But when we got there our reservation disappeared from their system even with a confirmation call morning of, they ended up getting us a table after a while so whatever that's fine. The larger issue was as one of my friends was sitting at the bar while we were waiting for the reservation to be sorted, she ordered a drink. She's 25 but the bartender named Yoni accused her ID of being fake and asked for another form of ID, I understand that, just being careful and double checking is totally fine! But then he started questioning her, "What did you do between high school and college then?" (Knowing we were college students) which first off is rude in itself because who are you to imply that because she's 25 she can't still be in college? Then when she answers his question and tells him the job she worked in the "in between" years, he proceeds to LAUGH in her face! Not in a playful joking way, just pure disrespect. So incredibly rude, how dare you laugh in a woman's face after she tells you what she did for work before going back to school? Incredibly disrespectful. read more

Absolute Perfection!! We had the most amazing meal tonight at St. Bibiana. This is now our "special occasion place" in Savannah. Every single thing exceeded our expectations. The building itself is gorgeous - a large Savannah mansion facing Forsyth Park. There are lots of seating arrangements from intimate tables for two to large tables for 8. The menu is a delightful selection of seafood starters (don't miss the tuna crudo!), small plates (we loved the burrata), veggies (the summer pepper panzanella salad was a stunner), pastas, mains, and sides. There was something lovely in every category and we indulged in several selections. We were on the fence about the branzino . . . Until it arrived and then we were blown away!!! Crispy skin, delicate fish, and house dried tomatoes that were absolutely incredible. The wine selection is fantastic, most of the wines are also sold as half bottles, and the sommelier was easily able to guide us toward just the right wine. Because we decided to sample most of the menu, we chose a white and a red and just went back and forth, depending on what we were eating. We got two desserts - the Napoleon with thyme gelato and the lemon olive oil cake, which was perfectly composed. Our server (Daniel) said, "try dipping the gelato in your coffee." We did and WoW!!!! Hopefully, they will add a thyme gelato affogato to their dessert menu someday! Daniel was lovely and was the perfect tour guide to one of the very best meals we've had in the past year.
