Shoe repair in Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii... It's challenging to find a shoe that fits well. Besides width, size, color, and style, the heel height must also be taken into consideration. Recently, when I wore a pair of well-loved dress shoes, something seemed amiss. I took a look at the sole and discovered that the heel tip was missing! Arggg! Instead of tossing the pair of shoes out, I decided to take that one shoe to the repair shop to see if it could be fixed. Mindi is a very cheerful, efficient, and competent worker. She asked for my other shoe so that she could make sure that the end result will be the same height and look. I went home to get it. When I returned, Mindi ripped off the heel tip with her fingernail showing that the adhesive was worn out. She asked for my phone number and name so that she could text me when the shoes would be ready for pickup. She said she would replace the tips with rubber which will not crack off - they would just wear down. Ahhh... A little over a week later, Mindi texted me with the shop hours... Very convenient! I told her I'd be there in a couple of days... No problem! I parked again in the free parking lot and went to the door facing Kahuhipa Street. Mindi found my shoes when I presented my claim ticket. I paid by credit card and went on my merry way! I tested out the shoes at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on 2-6-22. While it sounds crazy for me to drive to the windward side to get my shoes shined and/or repaired, the drive time is actually the same as going into a town shop AND there's more parking options with Windward Shoe Repair. Upon my arrival, their side lot was full, but I easily found free street parking adjacent to their shop. There were 3 already people in line as I walked up to the front entrance. Everyone waited patiently as Mindi took the time to interact with each customer and answer any questions. Her attitude was very positive, and you could tell she was passionate about the work she does. When it was my turn, I put my 2 pairs of dress shoes on the counter that needed to be shined. Her cash price was $8 a pair, which was VERY reasonable. I also had a pair of canvas motorcycle shoes with soles that were starting to peel away that I wanted to be repaired. Mindi took a closer look and told me that they could not be repaired. I figured as much, so time to let them go. Mindi asked when I needed my dress shoes back, and I gave her a date a couple of days out, which she was able to accommodate. Payment in advance is required, and she accepts cash or credit, but her cash price is slightly cheaper. I paid cash; was given a claim check for the shoes; and she told she would text to let me know when they were ready. A day earlier than expected, I received a text from Mindi letting me know they were ready. I picked them up the next day, and she did a great job! I've already given her another pair of dress shoes that need repair, so I highly recommend making Mindi at Windward Shoe Repair your go-to cobbler. read more

When the strap on my wife's tore off, we weren't sure what to do. Thankfully, Mindi took a look and didn't just say she could fix it, she made a recommendation for how to make sure it didn't happen again. My leather shoes had scratches all over, the color had changed too but she fixed them back to the original color and also made them shiny! I have brought my most favorite shoes to Windward shoe repair and they have done the most amazing job resurrecting and giving them new life! Even when I thought they were beyond hope, Windward Shoe Repair saved my favorite heels. And no, it did not cost more than the shoe to have them repaired! the owners are super friendly, and don't get deterred by saying they're small engine repair shop. It's a strange combination, but the shoe repair is in the same shop area as the small engine repair place! kind of a two-for-one if you need a small boat engine worked on plus your shoes repaired LOLOLOLs but serious also! The owners are super friendly, down-to-earth people that work hard to fix whatever it is you need fixed. They are kind, caring, friendly; it takes about 2 weeks turn around but so worth it. So disappointed in these guys, I have been coming to the shop for years to get my wife's shoes repaired and usually the owner is really helpful and friendly. Maybe it was a bad day today, but it sure rubbed me wrong when I just showed her the tubing that I needed put back into my shoe and explain to her that I had done it once myself but it did come out again. Her response was well. Why don't you put it back in again yourself and also it up After processing her response, I said well if I fix the shoe what are you going to charge me to put a stitch into secure it from happening again and she told me $10 was her minimum that was the last straw for me one stitch for 10 bucks forget about it Not to mention she told me she's not working right now it sure look like she was but she said she wasn't able to even get to it for a month and a half. This is a piece of tubing that would take about 20 minutes to work back into the hall, but I guess they have more business than they know what to do with. Guess I'll have to go to town. I am sure my old guy can do it on the spot. read more

My tiller did not want to start after 2 years of sitting. So I decided to try these guys out based on reviews. Don't know the worker's name that helped me, but I told him the problem and he said it was an easy fix I can do myself. Pretty much just unclogging the fuel lines. Preventing me from paying a flat rate charge of having them do it. Definitely recommend them knowing they are honest and not trying to make a fast buck. Windward shoe repair and small engine is the real deal. These are beautiful people providing a much-needed service to the folks on the Winward side. I took in my lawnmower that hadn't been used in nearly 2 years. I hurt my back and had to hire a yard guy who took care of things for me while convalescing. Better now, I decided it was time to do my own lawn again. After extended storage my mower wouldn't start. I flushed the fuel, changes the oil and spark plug and still nothing. I took it in to Windward and they did some repairs on the carburetor sharpened the blades and gave it a good tuneup. I brought it home, pulled the cord and it started right up. It feels like I have a brand new lawnmower. I can't say enough about how kind, responsive, and professional these folks are. Never been here before but she did a great job fixing the heels on my pumps. It took her a few days, but she did a great job and the heels were fixed in no time. She charged me $15.00 to put a new heels on my pumps. But it was definitely worth it. Their service is great. She isn't open on the weekends but her husband's shop is joint with her shoe repair so you can drop off and pick up your shoes on the weekend when he's working.
