I look forward to my biweekly visits ever since finding him. He understands working with my hair texture and laid out how my hair would be cut as it grows in. He is also just a nice guy. I showed him pictures and even explained to him in detail what I wanted for my haircut. I asked for a low to mid taper all around, and to please not cut too much off the sides and back but to even it out. At the end of the cut, when I let him know that I did not like the cut and that he did not do what I asked, all he said was "sorry, all I did was follow the pictures you showed me," and he still charged me full price, which was $45 -- that hurts when it's a terrible haircut. He also said he's been cutting hair for 16 years, but in my opinion this is not what an experienced barber does. If you look at the photos I attached, it's very clear he did not follow the photos I showed him or do what I told him. Terrible experience, and he handled the situation terribly. Being asked to pay again for the rescheduled appointment would have brought the total to $150 for a single haircut, which felt unreasonable given the circumstances. I'm all for paying for a service and understand that missed appointments can impact a business. However, in this case, I struggled to understand what value I received from the original payment. No service was provided, and there didn't seem to be any flexibility or consideration despite the appointment already being paid for.
