3.5. It's good (at first).... It's a little hole in the wall. Very Vietnamese. As standard Vietnamese as you can get. Service sitting down was quick and painless. Ok, here we go.... Food was GREAT (at first). Broth was great. Meat was great. BUT (maybe it was just our bowls) the pho noodles were STUCK together. Normally, once you add the soup, it comes apart but I was fighting my clump of pho noodles the whole time. There is a reason WHY it seems like there is so much meat (and yes, it did seem like a lot of meat), the noodles are so clumped together that you just eat it faster. That's the con. The pro is that the noodles tasted great. Besides the fight against the noodles, the soup seemed to lose flavor as I was eating. It just tasted more and more bland as I ate. I don't get it. Maybe it's just me. But that's my take. AND their L bowls seem more M than L. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Would I come back? Yes, still a GOOD bowl of pho minus my gripes. Looking forward to the run back.

I love this spot, the first two times I ordered through DoorDash, I was not disappointed at all. I got a custom Pho with brisket, rare steak & beef ball. The broth had good umami flavor and it didn't need any Sriracha or hoisin sauce. The meat was tendered and not chewy. For a small they are really generous on the meats & noodles. To be honest I wasn't able to finish my food & had a good amount to save for later. I can't imagine how much they'll give you for a large. I was so satisfied that I decided to dine in with a friend. This time I ordered their bun Bo hue and my friend got a small pho. Once again the portion size for a small is very filling and will have you leaving full. The broth for my bun Bo hue was tasty I just wished it had more lemongrass flavor. Luckily they had that stinky shrimp paste to add onto the soup. My friend can eat but he couldn't finish his Pho. Flavor wise it was delicious and had a good sweetness to it as well. I can tell it was made from love. The entire staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, this is something you usually won't see in Chinatown. Overall, the food was a 4 but I'll give it a 5 because the staff was awesome and the portions are filling. I'm all about quality but this spot delivers with quality and quantity. Will I come back? You bet I will.

This place is nestled in a desolate commercial strip mall that looks to be struggling. The water fountain was drained and the storefront sign looked worn and faded - nothing seemed to draw my desire to eat here... yet there were a decent amount of customers eating. I ordered the bun bo hue noodles. Food came out quick and steaming hot. Lots of meat and broth tasted great! With the added slices of jalapeño, bundle of fresh herbs, and squirt of lime, I was a happy camper. Not the best I had in Houston, but I wouldn't mind ordering it again. The kids enjoyed their rice plate. It's always nice when the kids enjoy their food. Service was friendly and prompt. No complaints.

I had an errand to run during lunch at UPS and Saito & Pho was next door. As a self proclaimed pho connoisseur, I looked at the menu and saw they had oxtail pho so had to order it . When I tell you the pho broth was 5 stars by itself then the the star of the show, 3 huge oxtails that were absolutely delicious beyond! It was my first time going but certainly not my last. Outstanding. Oh! Went to the location on Hwy 6 North.

Saito & Pho is squarely in the middle of the pack when it comes to pho spots in Chinatown. It's a pretty standard in terms of interior and decor. There is the fish tank against the wall, soup spoons stacked in the middle of the table, and hoisin and siracha. We tried pho dac biet, bun bo hue, and com thit nuong (grilled pork). Bun bo hue: the meat, pork blood, and cha were tasty. The noodles had a good bounce but the soup was just okay for me. I think it was missing a bit of spice. It certainly had the bun bo hue taste but felt like it was missing a little something. Rice plate with grilled pork. The grilled pork was a little dry and didn't have the right flavor. It was okay, but didn't have the grilled flavor. Not quite sure what was missing though.

The Togo here for Pho and Bun Bo hue must try it because it's barely any MSg. You can find in but space is a bit tight for large party of 5 or more. I love that bun bo hue Togo give you abundance of lemon grass with beef shanks tender but a tad bit thin just ask for beef slices instead of hocks and cha or pork blood they will replace with more beef, also I like the pho, Nem cuon and eggrolls all were delicious as well for the price is right.

If I didn't read the reviews, there was absolutely no way I would have found this great spot. The service was amazing, it could have been the owner but he was on point. It's fairly small yet cozy. The food was delicious. Family will definitely come back.

The best broth ever!!! I can't even tell you how good this place is. They specialize in Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine, but they have a pretty small menu compared to most pho places. That's actually a really good sign. I actually prefer when a place has a smaller menu. They don't do too much and because of that the few dishes they do have really shine. The service here is a little hands off but don't have that keep you from coming in. They only have one server and he's busy with a lot of side work. So if you need something do not hesitate to ask him for help. The shop is really cute. It has big windows that let in plenty of natural sunlight. The walls have these giant mirrors and lots of live plants that make it feel very inviting. Another weird thing about this place is that they have some of the best chicken wings I have ever had. Like ever. The ones in the fish sauce (nuoc sauce). They also have grilled pork Banh Mi's and they are so incredibly delicious. The bread is really fresh and has a nice crispy crust to it. This is one of the favorite hidden gems. The food is always good! Sometimes when you become a regular at a spot you can taste when they have an 'off day'. This place is the exception. If you don't need any fancy frills or anything else to have a good meal this is the spot. Get a bowl of pho and enjoy the company of a good friend. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are ginormous. Please be respectful of the slight language barrier. They try their best. If they don't understand what you are saying feel free to point out the dish on the menu and he will get you right. I love this little spot and they deserve the best!

My go to for bun Bo hue. It's always consistent every time we go there. The workers are always friendly especially the old man there. I haven't tried their pho or other foods beside BBH. The place use to be a sushi restaurant so it's very casual.

I'm still in the middle of eating as I write this review. The food is absolutely phenomenal. Anyone who enjoys pho will enjoy this place. The broth is an easy 10/10. I could drink it all day. Will definitely make this place a staple!

You wrap the lettuce around the bánh xèo/bánh khọt and dip it in the fish sauce. I got the bánh khọt and the bò né. Bánh khọt is like a mini, thicker version of bánh xèo and came with nine pieces. Their bánh khọt was crispy, sweet and savory, and went well with the fish sauce. Although the portions initally look small, they are very filling. The bò né was filling and sizzling when it came out. It also came with a side of salad. The meat was tender. I really liked the bánh khọt and would definitely come back for them. I couldn't have been more wrong. Xeo Yum (#1) as it turns out is one of the most legit Vietnamese places in Midtown serving up some of the city's best banh xeo and banh khot. Located inside of a Food Hall (#2) in the back corner, they have low-key become a destination and without question, the most popular stall in the entire place. The fan base didn't happen overnight but is a direct result of Chef Cuong Nguyen's commitment to quality Vietnamese fare. Banh Xeo is their signature item, which is also known as a sizzling crepe or pancake made of rice flour, tumeric, and coconut milk. The banh xeo holds well, is perfectly crispy, and is nicely stuffed with an assortment of beans sprouts, shrimp, and some of the best grilled pork belly I've had. Another specialty item that doesn't get enough mention is their banh khot, which is similar but has a mini muffin / cupcake like appearance made in a specialty cast iron mold. This version is wonderfully crispy and pairs perfectly with fresh greens and fish sauce with some funk. It is my favorite item here. Some have argued they also serve one of the best bo ne (#3), the Vietnamese version of steak and eggs served in a skillet. The chunks of beef are nice and tender with just a tad of char, served with two fried eggs, and a banh mi baguette with a mix of butter and spare. Normally I think of spam or sausage included with the meats, but Chef Cuong's spin is with cherry tomatoes. It's a different approach and I'm not mad at it. Folks not looking for this can shoot for bo luc lac, aka shaking beef, which is also recommended. The staff here is sweet, hard-working, and very friendly. They also make a mean Vietnamese coffee and offer free iced self-serve water. The prices are what I would expect in a Midtown food hall, and there's plenty of seating. Anyone checking out the food hall need to make Xeo Yum as part of their eating itinerary. __________ (#1) A play on the Vietnamese sizzling crepe, Banh "xeo" and yum" (#2) Previously the Conservatory and now Stestí Food Hall. When I arrived there was nobody dining in the restaurant, that was a bit worrying, but I figured it was a bit early for the dinner crowd and late for the lunch crowd. Food & Drink - 4.5* First up was the noodles, I enjoyed them, but I wouldn't say the hype I'd heard about from some others was there. They had nice flavor, but there just wasn't anything "special." 3.5* Then it was on to the crawfish, and my oh my. Superb, the flavor is delicious and unique. This more than made up for the noodles dish. The potato and corn was good too. Service - 5* Solid. When I first arrived the owner was quietly reading a newspaper and eating his own lunch. He paused to greet me and advised that I could sit anywhere. He provided water and adequate time to determine what I wanted to order. The food came out quickly and he checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok. As time went by, the crowd of folks showing up increased quite a bit and he still managed to check in on tables consistently. Pricing - 4* This is where it was odd. Always subjective but I found the noodles to be overpriced for not only the size but what I felt was a pretty simple dish. The crawfish on the other hand was priced very competitively and made up for the overpriced noodles. I provided pics of the menu for someone to make their own assessment but in general I thought many of the dishes were pricier than they probably should be. I know inflation is certainly killing many businesses and consumers but even these felt a bit off. Overall - 4.5* This is definitely going to be one of my go tos for crawfish when in the area. The flavor is fantastic, the pricing is good, the size of them were solid. There are a couple of other dishes I may try on the next visit. The service was good, the ambience is super casual but the menu was phenomenal. They had artichoke and salmon pho! I clearly love a good pho and I was all for it! I got the artichoke pho with chicken and it was a 10/10!!! I wish this spot was in Atlanta where I live. I would most definitely be a regular. The fried rice and green beans chicken was awesome too. It was a 10/10 full flavor bomb. recommend.

There is a mural of Vietnamese landscape and an aquarium of arwanas. We started with mango salad with grilled pork and papaya salad with shrimp. Both dishes came with sweet and sour dressing. Mango was sweet and grilled pork was yummy. Papaya salad was fresh and a bit more subtle. We also ordered the fresh spring rolls. The old Saigon rolls came with mango and pork. Always liked mangoes. The other was regular fresh spring rolls with shrimp. The rolls came out last after when we got our Pho. Would have enjoyed it more if it came after the salads. I ordered the combination Pho with all the ingredients (brisket, eye round, tendon, meatball and tripe)a. There is only one size. There was a lot of noodles for the size of the bowl. They were generous with the meat. Wish they would have more soup. The soup itself was ok. Thought it was a little bland compared to others. Service was quick. It didn't take long to receive our order. They offer reusable wooden chopsticks. Will plan to try the other dishes other than Pho like rice plates next time.

My friends ordered the filet mignon and the chicken and they were equally as impressed! I ordered the espresso mousse for dessert which comes out in the shape of a coffee bean. Cuteeee and perfect! This is a higher end fine dining restaurant so you should expect the portion sizes and price to be pretty comparable to a lot of other finer dining restaurants. Overall the food's flavor was fantastic. I ordered the king salmon clay pot. I thought the salmon was so tasty! They added pepper and sauce to the salmon - It was tender and flavorful and paired nicely with white rice. The quail (not pictured below) also was super flavorful and was cooked so well it tasted like beef. The soup was also light and refreshing, similar to a west lake soup. It was thicker consistency and had cilantro and chucks of lobster. The drinks served were also super balanced. We ordered the mojito and the dragon fruit cocktail. The mojito was the right balance between minty and sweet with just a hint of alcohol flavor. For the dragon fruit cocktail, it was very fruity, on the sweeter side but not overpowering and was topped with egg whites to give it a little bit of frothiness. I will say, we are slightly underdressed to enter this establishment. Everything seemed so luxurious and many people were in formal business wear! Keep this in mind if you go! There is a parking deck right next to the location as well, both self parking and valet!
