Patient and diligent staff. I've been here twice. The first time in a group of 16 with 5 children varying in ages between 2-8, and the wait staff was extremely patient and accommodating, came around to clear plates and trash often, accurately split the bills and took many pictures of our group for us with multiple phones with the utmost customer service. Food is good especially for AYCE with generous cut of sashimi. Establishment is spacious, clean, well lit and aesthetically decorated. Tables are not too close together with a lot of seating. How the heck did this place get so many wonderful reviews? Must be the free promotional item you get if you leave them a raving review. Well, the raves had me curious to try it out so I went for lunch. Maybe the limited selection didn't help the rating. The food that we ordered was beautiful in presentation but lacked flavor and quality. They don't advertise as high class or quality so I can't fault them there. The surimi is higher quality than most sushi places so that's a plus. Service was on point. It appeared very clean so loved that. The restaurant was nicely decorated so bonus points there. I love Sushi Haya! This was our first time here and it won't be our last. Our birthdays just passed so we missed the free birthday all you can eat...we def won't miss it next year. We got 3 all you can eat. 1 child and 2 adult. The prices were 32 and 17 I believe. You get 1 free alcohol drink or regular drink with each all you can eat. Went to dinner with my cousin, aunt and uncle on my last night in Houston and this place was fantastic. A great deal for AYCE sushi and a bonus that it included so much more. The more included an alcohol beverage, appetizers, grilled items and even dessert. To top off all of the goodness, the server was so sweet and made the experience even better. There's plenty of parking and in a newer strip mall area. The inside is clean and spacious too. I could eat only the galbi here and be happy but the octopus was sweet and delicate. I was a big fan of the rolls and the sashimi was the freshest I've seen at any AYCE sushi place. The portion size for the sashimi was nice too - thick chunks and not too thin. Surprisingly great value for AYCE sushi in Missouri City. They have a decent happy hour with discounted drinks and if you sign up as a member, they're even more discounted! The AYCE not only includes sushi/sashimi, but also comes with a free drink from a selected list, appetizers, grilled skewers, ramen, hibachi, and dessert. I really liked the New Surf and Turf roll and Angel Roll. The sashimi pieces were super thick and really delicious, our favorite was the white tuna. My partner really liked the Baby Octopus skewer. I am amazed by all the AYCE sushi places that are now open in the southwest area and this could easily would be a 5 if it were not for the service: they need more workers because it took more time for us to get our drinks than the actual food (and we had to ask several times). The workers look like they are really trying so maybe it's just that they need more but we had to periodically ask for help, get our server or see where some of our orders were because it took a while to come out. BUT the food is REALLY good for AYCE. The tempura is some of the best I have had compared to Sushi Masa, Oma, etc. Most of the sashimi is very fresh and the pieces are fairly big. They also have ramen and robata grill foods. One of the few places where both cooked and raw foods are on point. Not super busy either and very pretty inside. Good place to take friends/family and more casual Setting. Price also includes a soft drink so that's a plus! On top of the sashimi and typical appetizers, they have skewers, hibachi, and ramen included with the dinner menu. Definitely try the baby octopus skewers! They ran out fast the second time we came. If you order a ton of sashimi, they serve it on a sushi boat, which was a nice surprise. While our server was nice, I could tell she was overwhelmed by the number of tables she was taking care of. We came here for lunch to celebrate my birthday. They offer a free AYCE meal for your birthday when you're signed up for their free reward membership and show your ID. Pricing for adults is reasonable, but the kids (4-10yo) pricing ($14 for lunch) is a little steep (for my 5 yo who doesn't really eat raw), but my 1 yo eats free so that's nice. The fish quality is great and their roll selection was enough when there is only 2 of us! We got the shaggy dog, rainbow and volcano rolls. They were all good. My husband liked the volcano one a lot, especially with lots of fried crawfish on top. I don't think they do half rolls which is a huge plus for Oma, particularly when I'm going for variety and in a smaller party. I'll have to try more of their rolls next time! The hand rolls here are packed full, so order wisely. Galbi order came with the equivalent of 1 strip or 4 little bones. It was a bit too peppery for me, so on my second order I asked them to adjust and they did. Meat quality was decent - maybe not Korean restaurant grade but certainly not the worst and better than what you can probably get at Hmart. The one main complaint is probably their tempura batter isn't as delicate (more big crunchy pieces) and can be a bit too much in the rolls (like shaggy dog) but definitely didn't do well on the tempura Oreos. The oreos had too much of a chewy crunch when it should be a bite not a tear (if that makes sense). Service was a little on the slower side but I think they were in the middle of training new waitstaff and sushi chefs, plus they just opened a week or 2 ago. Honestly this place was good but not my favorite. I went with my bf's family and his dad and grandma are vegetarian. They had a lot of options that are vegetarian friendly. Their menu had a lot of options to choose from and if you order appetizers i recommend you to share because it's a lot and can fill you up fast. Summary: Sushi Haya is located next to the Academy deep in Missouri City, I believe you would say the Sienna area. They had a soft opening for a while, with the grand opening on the 12th, so it's been about two weeks or so now. I expected the restaurant to be ready for a proper visit, but unfortunately, it wasn't. Redefine New Restaurant: The plaza is new, and the exterior looks nice--the interior décor looks pretty good. However, I was shocked by how dirty the dishes and plates were. They looked like they'd been used for over a decade, covered in unpleasant stains. It seems like they either need a new dishwasher or a new dishwashing machine. Host issue: When we walked in, no one greeted us. The host seemed to be walking around, doing the bare minimum, and even made eye contact with us but still didn't come over. It wasn't until the manager noticed us that we were acknowledged. It felt unprofessional, especially since a simple greeting goes a long way. At the table, however, our waiter was busy but kind and checked on us frequently, which I appreciated. Sushi AYCE? or just AYCE? The food was mediocre at best. As an AYCE sushi restaurant, I expected a stronger focus on sushi. The nigiri and sashimi, usually the highlight of AYCE, were underwhelming. The appetizers had very few sushi options and were average. The popcorn chicken were like standard chicken nuggets rather than Japanese- or Asian-style popcorn chicken. While they did offer a decent selection of robata grill items, teriyaki, etc. However, I came primarily for the all-you-can-eat sushi buffet, not ramen, robata, or desserts. Overall, I don't think I'd return. With so many other AYCE sushi options out there, Sushi Haya's selection feels below average and not very competitive. read more

One of my favorite sushi is the shaggy dog and raw fish is the peppercorn tuna and the yellowtail. Service: the girl that helped us was very nice and friendly. Ok, so I gave it 5 stars for service selection and price. We did the all you can eat for lunch $20. See pic of what all is available! It was fresh and good quality, I wish the fish was a little colder but that's my preference. The pieces of fish were decent size on the nigiri, not too thin. We had short ribs which were ok- a little tough and not a ton of meat. We got a spicy tuna roll and didn't live the consistency of the fish. Small things, they didn't insist we ate all of the spicy tuna. The teriyaki beef was really good! Not too sweet which is always a concern of mine and it was tender! My son had gyosa and enjoyed it, I had the crab and avocado salad and enjoyed it as well. We had a few other things just to try? And really overall enjoyed ourselves! Such a huge selection for ayce!
