Really good sushi and the mochi ice cream is amazingggg, I just loved the green tea flavor. My only complaint is that the service was kinda slow, we were one of two tables in the whole place and still had to call our waiter over a couple times and wait when asking for spicy mayo. I have been eating sushi for decades, I have eaten some very fresh fish in my life. Some even too fresh. This place is delicious, the fish is fresh and artistically displayed. I am truly impressed with Sakae. We tried it one night on a whim, and were so surprised. We thought the lack of patrons in there on a Thursday night was maybe an issue. I was super excited to try their food given the previous reviews . I went with my children on the weekend and it was empty which was great. They were very nice but not super attentive. We are regular customers and usually really enjoy the sushi . Last night we ordered and every single one of the sushi was overall extremely fishy we couldn't even finish the rolls . Sakae Sushi has become our family's go-to sushi spot! Sometimes we sit and sometimes we call and pick it up. When they say what time to pick it up, they actually mean it and the food is ready to go. In fact, today we ordered for 8 people and they gave us two beautiful platters of sushi and sashimi. In addition, they gave us extra containers of soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger without us asking which was a great surprise. I highly recommend Sakae Sushi to all sushi and sashimi lovers. It's always fresh and tasty! We do not have much experience with the actual food, but my mom has tried the chicken teriyaki and loved it and my cousin is a regular udon noodle orderer. I saw some good reviews, so I got takeout from this place last night. For local sushi in a strip mall, I must say i was shocked at how good it was. The fish was fresh NOT chewy and flash frozen a dozen times. The special rolls were very creative and tasty. Much better than some of the local places in the area. As somewhat of a sushi snob, I would highly recommend Sakae as a great takeout sushi go to place. read more

Out of all the sushi spots around town, we chose Sakae Sushi as our go to place since we felt it was in the middle of the cheaper and expensive restaurants. I personally enjoy the miso soup and selection, however, very disappointed in the spicy salmon roll. I ordered it in the past and actually found a reasonable sized bone in the roll. I shrugged it off since we order all the time and this was one occurrence. Unfortunately it wasn't the last time there were bones!!!. We ordered again and I found yet another bone but it wasn't just one time this time, it was TWICE. And my husband found bones in his salmon rolls also. He threw out the entire roll bc of this. It was to late to call them and let them the know. Needless to say STAY AWAY FROM THE SPICY SALMON ROLL!!!! Almost forgot to mention that the seaweed in the roll was chewy. read more

Came here because I saw a lot of reviews saying the food was good. I never found out if it was because after an hour and a half of waiting and no food, we just left. When we got there we were the only ones in the restaurant but the place filled up quickly and I don't think they could handle the orders. They mixed up the orders and people that came long after us got served first. The staff didn't even try to make it right in any way whatsoever. It's possible that this is just a one-off bad experience but with plenty of other options in the area I won't be going back. read more

This is my regular place. I'm here about 2 times a week. In fact, I pre-pay for my absolute fav, the ocean salad. I pay for about three in advance. I call them 10 minutes in advance and it is ready.
