I am fairly new to the area from Las Vegas, Nevada and have been searching for a new favorite sushi place. I decided to try this one first. I came in right after opening about 11:30 (today 01/17/2024), the cost for AYCE was $32/person, with an optional entree type menu if you don't want AYCE. I was seated right away, and immediately asked if I had been before, I was then advised of the "rules of AYCE". Overall the food was good, the waitstaff was friendly enough, they didn't hover, they made sure our food was delivered promptly and correctly. I would have liked more ponzu or even eel sauce for some of the rolls as I found the rice a bit dry. Chefs, staff, sushi, and male older gentleman (owner) all rate a well deseserved top rating (5). The older female server is the rudest most unprofessional server i have ever run across in my life. We (3 couples) used to go there 2 to three times a month. We are all retired so we go early and during the week to avoid the busy times. There is not enough room on the tables. We were told told (I should have said ordered) where to sit at. When the food arrives, there is not enough space and this clearly pissed her off. So we went early intentionally and asked for the one large table in the far corner. She straight up told us "NO" even though of all the large tables, "NONE" were being used. What a pleasant surprise this was for me when I went in the first time! A legit AYCE sushi spot right here in Tulsa! Let me preface by saying I have experienced some amazing spots like this around the U.S. and had low expectations for this spot when coming in but you know, sometimes it's A OK to be wrong! Over the years this location has had some other food service offerings that just didn't last long, but Sake 2 Me Sushi has shown me that they have what it takes to hang in for the long haul! So, when you first walk in the ambiance is very welcoming and comfortable. It feels like a 'nice' restaurant but not so nice it makes your every day folks like myself feel we don't belong. The service here was also on point. Our server was very knowledgeable with the sushi and other menu options and was very attentive. This is handy for the folks who are new to Japanese cuisine including sushi in general. That sushi though! I am not going to go into detail about how delicious and fresh the sushi was, but, it was DELICIOUS and FRESH! My wife and I both very much enjoyed every bit of every roll that we ordered! First, I wanna cover the service. We came in an hour and a half before closing, so there should have been more than enough time for the staff to perform closing tasks. I mention this because the entire staff was pre-occupied either prioritizing talking and laughing with each other or working on closing tasks. They were completely thoughtless. It took nearly 30 min for them to even take our order. And when the food finally came out, they never gave us plates or utensils. We had to ask for them on two separate occasions. And the funny part is they were fully staffed and the house wasn't even full. They could tell we were frustrated because they unexpectedly gave us a free roll. And then they proceeded to ignore us yet again, too pre-occupied on the same stuff, fraternizing and closing tasks. We had to ask for to-go boxes and the server asked us which sized boxes we wanted without giving us any context of how big each size is. We don't work here, how would we know? And then she dropped a plate on the table while trying to remove it, nearly spilling soy sauce everywhere. It even took forever for them to notice we put our card down on the check. They took so long to service us we ended up being the last customers there, and all i wanted to do was leave but we couldn't cuz we needed them to pick up the check. Anyway, the food was an interesting take on sushi. Pretty heavy for my liking but I can see why people would enjoy it. Well I was a bit suspicious about an all you can eat sushi restaurant but I've been twice now and it passed the test. Gluten free options available even on the all you can eat, and all we could eat, we did! Went with friends the first time and just ordered off the menu because I wasn't sure about the all you can eat deal, so I spent almost twice as much as the all you can eat. It was fun because they would just come by and drop a free item off at your table, but not always GF. So I came back with the hubs, and did the GF and he liked it as well. Options are a bit limited on that but still tons to choose from. We are a bit spoiled on San Francisco sushi and also Sugarfish in NYC and LA. They have other dishes besides sushi, but I wasn't sure if they offered G F ones so I just stuck with what I knew. The plum wine was amazing, fruity with a looooong finish! AYCE SUSHI. Need I say more? Quality wise, I think this is the best you're going to get in Tulsa. The menu has a good selection of food to choose from and it comes out pretty fast. It seemed like every round we got, something was missing, though (which is probably a good thing. We didn't need to eat anymore). Only really bad thing about the AYCE is the price - around $30/person. Lunch is the same price as dinner. If you're not feeling gluttonous, the bento box is also pretty good. Second time here, our waiter was a very nice server. The sitting area is overall nice, but for the charge, they could make it nicer. Now getting to the food, it was horrible this time. The mixed tempura was oily, and the wife got all you can eat sushi. She only ordered the first round. The food had no taste and in fact it was just not palatable.
