Surprising to find some of the best sushi and hibachi in my favorite hometown! The Lady Gaga roll includes cheese (in keeping with Wisconsin), and was DELISH! and enough to satisfy two for a light lunch if you add the edamame beans. Our group of 4 also had the shrimp fried rice, california roll and spider rolls. We enjoyed watching them being made - FRESH - as much as eating them. Affordable, fresh, friendly; the Sake House is definitely worth visiting regularly if you're in town and among the top 3 worth checking out if you're passing through. My other two favorites in in the area are: Zwieg's Grill (for burgers and broasted chicken) and Donny's Girl (toward Concord) for fish fry and amazing home cooked meals (and old fashioned's) on other nights. read more

First time here ever. Had the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, rainbow roll and dragon roll. All were excellent especially the rainbow. All different kinds of fish in one large roll. So good! Awesome tea. Our waitress was great and very attentive to everything we needed. I loved the decor too. We had a cozy booth so I could chat with my dinner companion. Will be back soon for sure. read more

Went today with my wife and daughter and we really enjoyed everything. Fresh rolls made at perfection. We has some Tuna rolls, California, Dragon, lady gaga and some of tempura shrimp. Sashim was fresh but too thick piece for my taste. read more

I used to make the drive to beaver dam for sake house sushi. Now one is in town. I really don't know how you can best the quality in Wisconsin. Everything, sushi, sashimi and hibachi items are excellent. The atmosphere is quite nice and the service is always friendly and prompt. "I can't believe that we actually go to Watertown for sushi!" -My wife, every time we go here. In Madison we have our fair share of larger sushi places and there's nothing terribly wrong with them. But I like the intimate atmosphere at Saki House and their food is perfect. Plus, our good friends live close by and they love this place too so it is a perfect excuse to get out of town for a great meal. We usually start with their salad complete with ginger dressing. I could buy that dressing by the gallon if they sold it - it's perfectly flavored and often I am left wanting more. The salad is cold and crisp and not drowning in water, like other places tend to do. My wife usually gets a bento box, which comes with rice, the rolls she wants, soup, and some other things I can't even remember now. She always eats all of it - and she's picky! My friend, his wife, and I usually order a ton of different rolls to share among the four of us. Each roll takes a little while to make but the wait is completely worth it. The rolls that are spicy are spicy. The fish is perfect in taste, texture, and presentation. The namesake of the restaurant, the saki, is also very good. We usually get a few warm sakis among us all and it really is good. You can't go wrong here. Take it from a guy who commutes from the foodie capital of Wisconsin just to eat here. read more

It's Watertown.... with Sushi....not San Francisco or Miami -- that being said - the Miso Soup was fantastic. Our server was excellent! Friendly, funny and very happy to answer questions. My friend and I both had a Bento box and we were pleasantly surprised! The salad was good as well. All the ingredients were fresh and the service was great. I'd definitely go there again. The place is cute, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our experience, which is great because so far food in Watertown isn't exactly great. read more

Ok in a pinch, but nothing to crave. We got takeout, so no comments on the interior or waitstaff. Our order took about 10 minutes longer to prepare than they estimated. They charged us for the rolls that we ordered, but did not make the correct order. Overall, the sushi was fine, but bland. The salmon that we got just tasted stringy and watery. It didn't have the smooth texture and creamy taste that good salmon gives. The eel was terribly overcooked - dry, fibrous and crunchy. The restaurant was heavily Americanized. there was no Japanese on the menu, and not even some of the most common Japanese flavors like kampyo or fish roe. 3 stars for the food - it was average - but minus a star for giving us the wrong order. read more

I love sake house! My fiancee is really picky, but they are always accommodating and are delicious! My favorite is the Bento Box because it has everything I could want... the traditional soup and salad, sushi, egg roll, teriyaki chicken and fried rice all for 13 ish dollars! But have also got just sushi or the hibachi grill! I like everything! Also the first time we were there they took awhile with our food and gave us free dessert! read more

This place is one of the best things to ever happen to Watertown. Service is always excellent and food never disappoints. I usually get a bento box and a special roll if I'm there for dinner, but the real steal is the sushi lunch special - 3 rolls for $12 AND soup or salad. Let me say that again... 3 rolls for $12. Everything is so fresh and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I've tried sushi places in the surrounding communities, but nothing compares to Sake House. I was never a sushi eater before this place moved in, but the fact that I live 5 minutes away has caused it to become an addiction. read more

WOW, love the food. I am not a sushi person but their hot dishes (I had the hibachi chicken) were so tasty. Food was super hot when it was delivered. The waitress was very kind and was busy cleaning up a mess that a toddler in the next table made (Kids and Rice, lol) but you would have never noticed. She was very attentive and fast. She was also very graceful to the family. I think they were so embarrassed they could have died. It didn't phase her, or have any impact on our experience. read more

The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is that the booths are in desperate need of repair. They wiggle and lots of the seats are torn. However -- the food is GREAT! Love the Miso soup and I had a Bento Box and my husband had the Teriyaki Steak. Both were GREAT! We also had a California roll and it was great! Nice people, very, very fast service! I went here for a girls night out a few weeks ago with some coworkers. The waitress we had was very accommodating with the fact that I have celiacs, and made sure whichever sushi rolls I ordered were safe for me to consume. Sushi was really good. The only thing i should state is the soy sauce was not gluten free, and I did not have the Ginger sauce because she was not sure if wheat was used in the mixture. Also if you are living Gluten free for health reasons i would check with them to see which dishes you can have. The green tea, and my favorite miso soup were good. Only complaint was there was not enough room for 3 people to order more than 2 rolls a piece. We had a good night, with plenty of leftovers. read more

We had dinner yesterday, Christmas day. What a treat. Having lived in San Francisco for 25 years, we are used to GOOD sushi. This was as good and quite a find for Watertown! The service, wait staff and chef were great and we had lots of fun munching away on some of the best sushi we've ever found. The fish was fresh and delicious.
