My family and I came in on my husband's lunch hour. We ordered two chicken hibachi meals, one bento box and one sushi roll. The microwaved hibachi came out right away with the soups and salads. We were told "we're still waiting on the sushi and bento box". Two people began eating. The bento box (3/4 of it) came next, without one side. We were told quite casually "we're still waiting on the two sushi's" once everyone was done with their meals, and our plates and cups were empty, I requested our ticket. Instead of bringing it, the waitress tried to shove the rest of our meal in front of us, to which I said no, we need to leave now. We then had to get up and walk to the cash register for the ticket. Everyone has bad days. I prefer to eat at restaurants that serve everyone's meal at the same time, where service is basically polite. The worst offense for this service was not in the fact that they served our food late, it is because not a single person in this restaurant apologized, not the waitress, not the owner or manager. read more

Came in hungry, left with a personality change and a deep mistrust of my own stomach. The food looked like it had potential... unfortunately, so did the bacteria. About an hour later, my body started fighting for its life like I'd signed up for some kind of gastrointestinal Olympics. Excellent service. Portions were much more than anticipated. I ordered their dinner bento with chicken katsu for takeout... I prefer to pick up my food... still don't trust third party meal delivery services... back to the food. Great packaging for takeout orders. The hot section was hot and the old section was cold. We ordered the hibachi food and it came out cold! I ordered lobster with extra shrimp and the lobster came out on top of broken shells and there were shell pieces throughout my cold lobster. My daughter had to have them microwave her food to warm it up. This is not fresh hibachi nor do they have a grill. I will definitely not come back here again. The lobster didn't taste fresh and the food did not look like it was freshly cooked like you would expect from habachi. Also my shrimp tails were cold?? I sent my food back. read more

This is one of my fav places in McAlester. The Kani salad is a great appetizer. I usually get hibachi or the laticia roll. I still don't think it is as good as hibachi in any major city, but it will certainly hold you over if you are stuck in McAlester for a bit. read more

For me this is good sushi for a small town, and something different I can find locally. My latest visit for dinner was great where we tried their spicy and hearty Tuna Bomb special and Gyoza as appetizers, then shared a Steak Teriyaki Bento Box and a Rainbow Roll. There's variety on the menu to choose from other than sushi, sashimi, or nigiri, including options like noodles, fried rice, katsu, hibachi, and bento boxes. The Steak Teriyaki is really good and made with tender meat and then many of the fried rices are excellent and made by order. A family favorite is the tasty Hawaiian Fried Rice that's made with chicken and pineapple. Favorite rolls are the Passion Salmon Roll, Godzilla Roll, and Boston Roll. Save room for dessert because the Facing Fruit Roll is fresh, bright, sweet, and hit the spot delish. The plating and presentations are also creative, clever, and pretty. They have lunch specials that offer salad or soup with an entree for a very reasonable lunch price. To-go orders are packaged with care and offer the same fresh quality as dining in. It's also a good place to enjoy a nice dinner for special occasions since there's different options for seating arrangements (booths, small or large tables), comfortable lower lighting, and it's almost always quiet. My boyfriend and I ordered takeout here one night and it was pretty good. The prices are a bit much, but the entrees tasted pretty good. We ordered sushi as well as the normal chicken, pork, and beef entrees. We both agreed that the sushi wasn't great. It's honestly not worth the $12-$16 for a roll. I'd rather just get some from the grocery store for a little less. It'd taste better. The entrees were pretty good and the fried rice was meh. I couldn't really tell that it was fried rice which is kind of disappointing. I don't think it's worth spending as much as they have everything for, but it is a good tasting restaurant at least with the entrees so if you do want to just give it a try and maybe waste some money if you don't like it I recommend. read more

I was craving something warm and close to my heart...I gravitated toward hibachi because that is always a treat. There aren't many Asian restaurants in McAlester so I was happy to find Sake. The sign isn't well lit so it was initially hard to find (it almost looked closed!) But once you go inside, it's bustling with people. I called ahead for a pickup 20 min early, which was enough time for them to make the hibachi. I ordered the steak filet cooked medium- it was incredibly flavorful, juicy and tender. The veggies were cooked well and complemented the meat! I wasn't a big fan of the fried rice because it was missing egg, but I ate it anyway. The soup isn't miso soup, kind of plain but still tasty and warms you up. The salad is extremely simple, just lettuce...but the ginger dressing is yummy. All in all, although the side dishes were alright, it was the main dish that's most important and I was thoroughly pleased. I will be back to try the sushi rolls! read more

I HATE leaving bad reviews but I can not lie this is one of the worst meals I have ever had. The woman at the front was SUPER sweet and provided great customer service but I couldn't even eat my meal it was so bad. I got the shrimp teriyaki bento box and the only edible thing was my soup. Everything was extremely cold (I did get it to go but I ate it literally 10 minutes later) and the sushi tasted like it has been sitting for days. I am traveling for work and didn't have many options but I am so upset that I have no choice but to go to sleep hungry. I would not recommend this place read more

Here for a training with my husband and was looking for good place to eat. Saw this place on yelp and it has good rating so we gave it a shot. They got good service! We ordered their fried calamari, sushi deluxe, chicken and pork katsu. Was a bit disappointed with the calamari and pork katsu though. Pork was a bit dry and calamari got more batter than the squid. Extremely surprised at the quality of the food here! After moving from a big city I wasn't expecting to find a place that I enjoyed as much as the places I have gotten used to. I was pleasantly surprised and found multiple things here that I end up craving a lot! The Sunday roll, as well as the volcano roll are amazing! Quiet little place with really friendly wait staff. Their sushi menu desperately needs to be updated, many of the items that contain raw fish were incorrectly marked. The cooked food is actually really good as well as the items listed on their children's menu. My daughter is pretty picky when it comes to fish and the way they cooked the salmon was really good, I ordered some for myself. I think with an updated sushi menu, a few new items and some better lighting and advertising this place could really get more customers in! read more

This place has decent tasting food, but pretty bad service. The first thing out of our waitress' mouth was "couple minutes," which we couldn't decipher between a statement or a question. Turns out it was most likely a question of if we "needed" a couple more minutes, then the fact that she didn't even ask for our drink order was the first indication that we were in for a frustrating experience, and so we were. She later brought us our crab Rangoon appetizer and seemed bewildered when we asked for plates. After bringing our sushi rolls to the table, she only returned once, about halfway through our meal, only to bring the ticket, say thank you, and walk off. No question of how our meal was or if we wanted dessert, or even more to drink. This was our second time here, the first time was also disappointing. We aren't likely to return. read more

My husband and I were in the area to buy a vehicle and expected to come to a hibachi grill. Even though we did not get the hibachi experience this place has the best food and sushi that we've had in a long time! We were not disappointed at all. We ordered the Crab Rangoon for an appetizer, my husband ordered Steak Hibachi and Shrimp Hibachi for myself, and we ordered the Cowboy Roll which was all DELICIOUS!! My wife had hibachi steak and shrimp. Both were overcooked. The shrimp was like rubber. The chicken yakitori appetizer had 3 pieces of chicken about the size of a dime per skewer. I had tuna nigiri and shrimp nigiri sushi and the pieces were so small. The rice on nigiri should be about the size of your thumb. These were about half a pinky finger.
