I recommend everything on the menu! The Firecracker Roll is my favorite. I used to be a fan of the Spicy Cowboy Roll, but however, that one too is really good!! Any day is good for some hibachi, fried rice, or a good roll. Unfortunately, on this trip I had to take home an extra order due to some inconsiderate patron who has sneezed all over my end of the table and my order. Dude.. seriously. We went for a late dinner on Friday night because the hours listed say 10:30pm. We get there at 9pm. I try to never go to a restaurant within an hour of close, so we felt like we weren't being rude at 9pm. We were seated and orders taken quickly, but someone came around and loaded up all of the soy sauces to clean them. No big deal because we figured they'd bring them back. Well, our food comes out, and we ask our waiter for soy sauce. He says "you'll have to wait a few minutes until they are done cleaning them". Okay fine. 5-8 minutes pass and no soy sauce. We never see our waiter, so I ask a different guy cleaning, and he finally brings us little plastic to-go containers of soy sauce. Then we could finally eat our sushi and rice, etc. Normally, I wouldn't be too worried about a missing condiment, but Japanese is just so perfect with soy sauce. Our food was great, but service was really pretty bad this trip. I understand they want to get the restaurant ready to close, and I appreciate that they clean those sauce bottles. But I just wouldn't take those away from an eating customer. read more

Great atmosphere and decorations, professional, friendly staff, and the food was exactly what we wanted. My wife loves sushi, and she thought it was delicious, and I am always in search of well-made teriyaki and katsu, which this restaurants does just right! We were so excited by the ambiance, that had too many appetizers (edamame, calamari, and seaweed salad), several beers (good selection, but none on tap) each, and the several rolls and a full order of chicken katsu, and the bill was still under $60. One problem that looses one star for Sakura: Sashimi portion reduction on the bento box. I love Sakura so much, for a good time I was coming for lunch three times a week. Their service is generally really good and the environment is clean with a pleasant ambiance. Their food is pretty good but it's the bento boxes that set them apart. For a lunch, you get miso soup, a really good little salad, a protein of your choice, a pile of rice, and some pot stickers. For the dinner box you get to choose from two additional fried proteins. And the price is soooo good for the economy right now. My issue: They have halved the size of the sashimi portions without adjusting the price of both the lunch and dinner bento box. I am sure it was a decision based on money, it's a business after all, but I don't even want that box anymore. It matters because without those bigger pieces of fish, you are basically just eating a pile of rice and a pot sticker with a side of fish. I didn't take a picture but I should have, I've ordered three boxes that were like that to confirm it wasn't a one time fluke. I hope they go back to the bigger cuts, it was my favorite thing to eat for lunch and I just can't see myself returning to Sakura without that. I would even pay an extra dollar or possibly two for that specific box. read more

I was greeted immediately as I stepped into the restaurant and seated right away. As I walked to my booth I noticed the beautiful decorations, which lighten and brighten the whole space. The host was also my server and he had a great smile and friendly eye contact. I chose the Dirty Martini to start and an order of Edamame. The martini came with three olives (though in a margarita glass) and was tasty. The Edamame was served in a cute bowl and was a very generous portion. When the Sashimi appetizer arrived, I noticed the very generous cuts and the freshness of the fish. The Turo Roll was excellent with a variety of fish and large slices. Okay so my husband and I got a date night (which never happens) but we wanted to stay close and not go to Tulsa. We chose Sakura and are SO glad we did. We had the best experience! They told us that they only had one chef at the time and we were still so impressed with the food, ambiance, service, and time! Not terrible. Not wonderful. Average at best. The hibachi is fun for special occasions, but the sushi isn't even close to being the best I've ever had. Overpriced to a ridiculous degree. Too dark or too bright, depending on where you sit. The service has always been great though, and the staff is always fun and friendly, which makes up for some of the areas in which they're lacking. We have heard great things about Sakura and finally got a chance to try it out. It was AMAZING!! In fact my daughter wanted to go back the next day lol. I wasn't sure what to expect because the outside is pretty plain and in a little strip mall area, but when you go inside it is quiet and nice. They have a hibachi grill side and sushi side. We sat on the sushi side and enjoyed our visit. We started with a mini roll and it was absolutely delicious. We debated on ordering a second but decided to wait on our main meal, but at $4.75 for 6 pieces we were definitely tempted! We ordered hibachi lunch specials. My daughter and I got steak and husband got chicken...I don't think there was anything left on our table! Lunch portions were the perfect size and we were beyond pleased. I can't wait to go back again when I'm in town. Update: Loved it so much, I came twice in the same day. Had the dumplings, Japanese chicken fried rice, and California roll with a Strawberry Japanese Soda on the side. Service was just as good as before and they were a lot busier than the lunch rush. We were in the area and decided to give this place a try. It's good and has lots of options for sushi and hibachi. We sat at a hibachi grill, and our chef was funny and kind; he put on a great show while cooking! The food was good, but not as good as the show. A few cons: If you sit at a hibachi table, you HAVE to order at least 2 hibachi entrees per party of 2 or more. Our intention was for my husband to have hibachi while I got a poke bowl, but they insisted that I had to order hibachi just because we were at the grill. The waiter said it was a "convoluted" rule, but he had to follow it. I ended up ordering a hibachi entree and just getting an Alaska roll on the side. Again, both were good, but they weren't great. The rice on my sushi roll was almost crispy, but the salmon and avocado were fresh and tasty. The chicken hibachi was cut very small and lacking flavor a bit, but my husband's shrimp hibachi was flavorful and cooked well. Save your money! We only went because we were on the road and needed a quick non fast food dinner and this was one of the only places open. We got the vegetable tempura for an app. The tempura batter had no Panko breads crumbs in it so it was essentially fried battered veggies and not tempura at all. Vegetables absorb oil so you can imagine how greasy these were! The bento box dinner had a variety of stuff in it, including proper tempura shrimp. At least this batter had bread crumbs but this was clearly a frozen item due to the texture of the shrimp so they don't make their own. This is the only thing we ordered that earned this place a more than 1 star! The Yaki soba noodles were rather salty. When making this at home it isn't even this salty so they must use a pre made high msg sauce. Got this dish with beef which was really fatty and therefore not really edible. read more

My daughter and I have been eating at home since March. We decided to venture out and picked Sakura. We were the only people there that wanted hibachi. The waitress Cheryl seated us and threw the menus on the table and walked away. I've gone to Kobe steakhouses in the Philippines and Okinawa; this restaurant isn't on their level, but we went for the experience, not the food. Order a Yaki Udon it was not good, noodles didn't taste fully cooked and didn't have taste. I asked if I could have something different because I wasn't going to eat that. They simply said no that they didn't offer "free testers," what's that suppose to mean? The noodles were no good?! I can't believe them how am I getting charged for something that's not good and that no one is eating. I've had them before and they've tasted better. These were pale... Service is always pretty awful all the time, don't bring me my check 10 minutes after I got my appetizer for one. Idk about most people but I order my sushi in small quantities and order as I want them, I dont want all 5-6 different pieces showing at at once. The YakiUdon was terrible, the "beef" was mystery meat, everyone at the table tried it and said the same, tasted awful!
