    Party Boat :)
    Kellie C.

I can't believe we never heard of this place since their grand opening in July 2024. Tonight, we finally got a chance to come here for dinner. The restaurant is beautiful and well decorated. All drinks and most appetizers are dirt cheap on Sunday all day. They have an All Day sushi half price section & we tried out at least half of them. While they are half price, the taste is amazing and you really get a bang for your buck. The most impressive part of the menu was the Party Boat which came with 15 pieces of Nigiri sushi & 36 pieces of sashimi along with 2 chef's special rolls. The presentation was spectacular and every piece of fish was fresh and of pristine quality. The whole boat only costs $81, an unbelievable value, easily over $120 everywhere else. It was beyond amazing! If you are not big fan of raw fish, there are plenty of cooked food to choose from. They also have a big section of Hibachi tables where the chef cooks in front of you, a nice dinner & entertainment at the same time. Service was a bit slow but probably because Sunday was quite busy. All staff were friendly and welcoming; we will definitely comeback to this place again and again!

Okay, so I want to preface this by saying that I've been going to hibachi dinners since I was a young kid. I'm not impressed by the basics and, for the most part, 75% of these places taste damn near the same. That said, let me get into the specifics... Likes: -some really great sushi deals and happy hour prices -portion sizes are good -a diverse menu of offerings - traditional hibachi, sushi, wings, fries, you name it -it's GREAT for families because of the food costs and offerings -the prices are pretty good compared to what you get at other places (like those in NOVA) -service from waitstaff was great. I think his name was Alex (he was Hispanic with dark, curly hair) - he was so great and very nice. -ample parking outside Dislikes: -the restaurant was cold inside -we were the first ones seated at the grill and waited 40 minutes for cooking to start. Like... WHAT? I get waiting to fill it but we waited 20 minutes and then an additional 15 minutes AFTER a big group that more than filled the table came in and ordered. -the "show" was boring -the salad dressing was watered down and very runny -they do mushroom soup over miso ... and it's bland and watery -the food needs more seasoning, especially the rice and noodles -the salmon was covered in like a teriyaki glaze and if you're doing that to cover up the taste of the fish, please don't. -his cooking order was all over the place and seemed to take forever. Would I come back with a kid or group of kids? Sure! It's convenient and the prices are decent. Hibachi combo with salmon and shrimp - $26-27. Cool. Would I come here for a date, special occasion or super good food? Nah.

Shrimp Tempura Roll ( BOGO / double order) packed into one container and missing cucumber and avocado.

I gave into the BOGO deal on Grubhub and ordered the shrimp tempura roll (2) and Hibachi Chicken (2) among other items. I also ordered the $9 A La Carte salmon fillet. Flavorless and the salmon was extremely small for the price. They forcibly packed the double order of shrimp tempura rolls into one container and the only ingredients inside the roll were shrimp and iceberg lettuce. (Ahhh Cyclospora!) If you're expecting your traditional Shrimp Tempura Roll with Cucumber and Avocado, you will not find it here. After calling, the rep says they have this item for purchase for $4 if you order by calling or coming into the restaurant. Because it certainly isn't worth the $8.80 plus tax on a $17 charge on Grubhub.

Solid spot at the Wheaton Mall (adjacent to the mall, not technically in it). We've been here twice now. Good happy hour and specials. More affordable than the Hibachi place in downtown Silver Spring and free / easy parking -- though I think the cooking downtown is slightly better. Their appetizers (gyoza, wings) and sushi here are great. Kids hibachi special makes this place great for kids and parents! Standard steak hibachi is delicious -- order it rare! Wait staff seemed a little overwhelmed when we last visited, despite place only half full. Was a bit surprised all the Hibachi tables weren't filled on a Friday evening. This is a small chain (I think), but still maintains a nice vibe. It's still new and a fresh clean spot.

First of all, the service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Second, the sushi was fresh, the price very reasonable, and there were plenty of non-shellfish allergy-friendly options. We loved the 'kiss of fire' and 'tuna amazin' rolls especially!! Great flavor combinations, we thoroughly enjoyed them. The decor/backdrop was beautiful and the atmosphere relaxed. Would definitely go here again!

Great place for both entertainment and food , if doing hibachi. The chef was funny, engaging and did cool tricks throughout cooking on the hibachi cooktop (fire, volcano with onions, spinning egg on spatula). He cracked many jokes and even memorized customer names. Started with a sushi appetizer that had 6 pieces of classic nigiri (salmon, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, ect). Had the vegetable hibachi entree. All came with salad (and miso dressing), mushroom soup, fried rice and noodles with grilled veggies and protein of choice. Food was seasoned well without being too salty. Great for a group or a date.

My wife and I took our friend for his birthday and we loved it. Great hibachi and sushi. Staff is very friendly and ambiance is nice. We had a Groupon that saved us some money and the prices are lower than other places like Masa.

The ambiance was great - large bar, and multiple hibachi tables. We started with calamari and a couple sushi rolls which were decent. Mushroom soup was tasty. For the hibachi, I had the filet and shrimp which were both cooked very well and filet was to order. The noodles were lacking some seasoning. The fried rice was excellent. I'd get double rice next time. It was enough food to take home for an entire other meal! The kids portion was a single protein and all the same side portion as the adult so a great value. The half off sushi roll menu all day was a nice bonus and you can get the happy hour drink specials at the hibachi table.

Great hibachi restaurant. Serving size could be a bit bigger but the quality of the food is great. The thing that surprised me the most here were the prices. They offer Happy Hour on Sunday's with great prices for drinks (picture attached) and they have sushi rolls for 50% off, so rolls were around $5 depending.

Absolutely amazing service, food and value!!! I walked in with my husband and daughter and decided to try them out for lunch. The ambiance of the restaurant is so clean and and new with a large staff that all greeted us with smiles and made sure our drinks were filled ( I even had a sweet server stop me from cleaning under my daughters high chair which has never happened!!) The food was absolutely delicious, we ordered the filet mignon and the lobster ( both on the lunch menu and under $20 ) this came with a salad and mushroom soup. We also had the crab Rangoon app ($6) which was so fresh tasting. ( also huge portions especially for lunch) Also the show was great, I didn't know how my daughter would take the fire/loud bangs but she loved it and chief ( Tommy) kept making sure she was fine. ( he was also hilarious ) I am so excited to have a new legit hibachi joint, I'll definitely be back!

There's a limit on nigiri/sashimi to one piece per order. What that means is that, when you put in your first (and subsequent orders), you can order one tuna, one salmon, etc nigiri/sashimi. That is a lot better than what I originally thought, which was one nigiri/sashimi total for each round. The variety in the AYCE is impressive. Lots of sushi, sashimi, nigiri, salads, soups, variety of appetizers (not all fried stuff!) and hibachi (beef, chicken and shrimp). Tonight, the food arrived pretty quickly after we put in an order. There was an issue toward the end of the evening when the app stopped working at our table and the table next to ours. The Staff did what they could to fix things; it did take about 20 minutes, though. I'm assuming this isn't typical. Staff did say that this does happen from time to time and the customer needs to exit the app and reorder. Except for the 20 minute delay, things worked fine. We placed at least 12 small orders during our meal. The staff was very good about filling water glasses, bringing our food and taking away empty plates. Really - high praise for the staff. The restaurant is very pleasant to sit in. It has Asian motif and nice music playing over the PA. The only issue was with the ordering system, which, as I said, I'm thinking was unusual. Ice cream and soft drinks included.

Many raw things were warm, and I got terrible stomach pain and nausea from their raw oyster, which was warm and tasted terrible. This convinced me that their food is not being kept in safe conditions. Their sushi rolls with "spicy tuna" or "spicy salmon" were chock full of tempura/panko flakes mixed with the fish, resulting in barely any actual tuna or salmon in the roll. Any rolls with tempura shrimp were soggy and lukewarm. Don't trust any videos you see online of this place because the actual rolls you get are 70% rice. This is the worst sushi experience I've ever had, mainly because it caused terrible indigestion from unsafe food handling on Kabuto's part.

I also loved that you order everything through a tablet, super convenient, especially with AYCE since you can easily add more of whatever you are enjoying without having to flag down a server. For the side dishes, my favorite were the shishito peppers (I think we ordered them 3 times lol) and the fried lotus roots with edamame puree. The portions of the sides are actually HUGE! if you are dining with a larger group, this is perfect because everyone can share, but if it's just you and one other person, be careful about how many sides you order. You might end up with way more food than you can finish!

The only items I truly enjoyed were the California rolls and the wings. Everything else missed the mark for me. The vegetable egg rolls were crispy on the outside but didn't seem fully cooked on the inside. The dumplings barely had any chicken in them and were paired with a sauce that didn't complement the dish at all. The calamari was also overcooked, and while the mango lemonade was decent, it wasn't enough to save the meal. The service was also extremely slow. It took about an hour for our food to arrive at the table, which made the experience even more frustrating. However, I want to make it clear that this was not the fault of the bartender, Julia. Julia was honestly the highlight of the entire visit. She was incredible and deserves recognition for her work ethic. She seemed to be everywhere at once--managing the bar, helping guests throughout the restaurant, correcting food issues before dishes even reached the table, and stepping in wherever she was needed. She was attentive, professional, and handled everything with a positive attitude. Based on what I witnessed, she has the qualities of a manager. Overall, my first experience at Benihana was underwhelming due to the food quality and long wait times. If I ever return, it would largely be because of the exceptional customer service provided by Julia. She truly went above and beyond and was the bright spot in an otherwise disappointing visit.
