    White Fish Ceviche

This is a nice local sushi and sake restaurant in Edgewater. The server we had was super friendly and helpful. We also had a nice seat with plenty of cushions and room for a hungry kiddo. We tried their house hot sake which was a good price for the size of the bottle ($13 for an XL bottle.) we also tried the crunchy spicy crab appetizer, white fish ceviche, miso soup, baby octopus (yum!), and two rolls (Boston and kiwi - yum!) The prices were reasonable and the food was very good with hearty portions. * Update: We've been back a couple of times since our first time. The last two servers weren't the friendliest - they would take our order and bring it out but no conversation or rapport like the first time. We tried some new rolls, but the white fish ceviche is still my favorite. The lover's roll without cream cheese is also very good. The overall ambiance is nice and comfortable, but I think that if there was more of a friendlier feel, more people would come (especially since we've been 3 times, it would be nice if we were recognized).

We had an adult date night with plans to watch Wicked at the Adrienne Arsht nearby. I did my due diligence (so you don't have to) and completely recommend this place. Food: we got the flamed salmon roll and ordered the salmon deluxe, but was brought the trio deluxe(and welcomed the error with open arms). We also ordered apps and beer. Food, definitely on point. Its practically tied for our fave sushi spot. Ambiance: It is kind of small, or, perhaps lack of too many patrons just gave it that vibe. Not a lot of people, but for what we needed, it helped. Nice decorations, probably could use a few more lights(we feel old saying that). Service: our waiter was on it. Even with the mix-up on the food order, he came around often, made recommendations, and was genuinely nice. This is definitely a repeat for us, and we can't wait to try other items from the menu

Amazing! Love this place, family owned and operated!! You'll be taken back by how full of flavor the rolls are there! I highly recommend the jalapeño popper roll and the weeds roll! 10/10! Will be back!

This is a restaurant that doesn't go too crazy with the flavor profiles of their rolls and are severely overpriced. My spider roll was good but nothing special. My boyfriend enjoyed the flamed salmon roll and it was tasty but again, for me nothing I would lay up at night dreaming about. Edamame was lack luster as well. Overall, uninspired.

Honestly quality has significantly diminished. This use to be one of my favorite sushi spots but the past few times I have been the flavor has not been the same. This last time the sushi did not taste fresh and gave us a stomachache. The crab salad also had way too much dressing which was overpowering. For being the only people seated at the restaurant service was pretty slow. There is an older lady that works behind the counter who always has a bad face and gives the customers nasty looks. It's always easy to get a table, ambiance is casual.

Wherever we go, we always check out the local sushi spots! Sake Room was walking distance from where we were staying and a few locals recommended it. Sayuri was our waitress and she was friendly and quick. We started with ice cold Sapporos beers on tap and Dirty Edamame. I prefer my Edamame to be seasoned with more than just sea salt and this really delivered! For my entree, I ordered the Weeds Roll. It was so flavorful and the fried seaweed on top was a nice addition. My husband ordered the trio deluxe. He will typically order a sashimi dinner (an assortment of raw fish) when we go out for sushi. They only offered raw fish ala carte, so he opted for the trio instead. He liked that the menu had rice-less sushi options. Everything was delicious and we waddled back to our condo!!

Really good sushi and big portions!! We LOVED the lovers roll, there is a lot of different fish in it and very little rice, which is nice! In general all their sushis are good, but their desserts are not outstanding. They also have good sake. So I would recommend: come here for drinks and sushi, then walk to another place in the neighborhood for dessert :)

What a great find! The food is delicious although the waitress did not provide a 5 star experience. She was attentive at first but then seemed to forget our table and worst of all put in our order. She was too busy on her phone. It's a shame because the sushi and other plates we got were quite tasty.

What a great experience!!!! Great ambiance and amazing food. Service is top notch with Claudio leading the way to a really good team. This is a neighborhood gem that everyone in edgewater has to try !!! Don't forget to order the Rock Shrimp and the Volcano Roll.

I was VERY skeptical due to the other reviews. A lot of them state this place has bad service. I had to see about that! This place is a hidden gem in downtown. The food here was AMaZINgGG!!!!! Like holy moly good! I haven't bragged about sushi being this delicious in a long time. My friend and I came on a Tuesday a little before 10pm (very late din din). We were the only ones in the place so I honestly can't complain about service. We ordered: Shrimp Shumai Junangi Roll Crunchy Crab Salad Jalapeño Popper Roll Black Hawk Roll Everything was delicious! But my absolute favesssss: *Jumangi Roll- worth every stinkin' penny! If you love Tuna, this is it! *Crunchy Crab Salad- WOW! *Jalapeño Popper- this is a game changer. It's topped with Parmesan cheese and then slightly baked. The cream cheese on the inside just melts in your mouth. Will most definitely be returning here! I can see why you might have to wait a very long time it you are coming during prime time on a weekend. My advice: coming during the week.

Arigatou, Sake Room. You turned what was an impromptu Sunday stroll into a memorable family meal. Starting with a generous pour of Sapporo (on tap) and ending with a creative Nutella banana roll (with soy paper) -- served ala mode -- what happened in between was nothing short of a celebration of flavors, textures and artful plating: Edamame Crunchy Krab Salad Flamed Salmon Roll Trio Deluxe All that, together with the great service from our server, Francisco, and you have one of the best sushi experiences in Miami under $200.

The grilled octopus originally came out overcooked and tasted like dry rubber chicken. The oysters were even more disappointing--the first batch was slimy and tasted off. You know when an oyster is not fresh, and these definitely did not taste fresh. To the server's credit, he insisted the kitchen remake both dishes. However, we had already finished eating by the time the replacements came out, so it was too little, too late. In my opinion, both dishes should have been removed from the bill given the quality issues. Service was extremely slow from the beginning. We waited almost 20 minutes before the server even came by to check on us. I had read other reviews mentioning poor service here, and unfortunately, it seems there is some truth to that. Interestingly, the server became much more attentive and apologetic only after I told him how disappointed we were with the octopus and oysters. We also witnessed another family leave visibly upset, with someone throwing their receipt at the greeter. I have no idea what happened, but it certainly didn't add much confidence to the experience. Then came the final surprise: a mandatory 20% gratuity was added to the bill, along with a resort fee that had not been disclosed to us upfront. I asked the server why the resort fee wasn't mentioned, and his response was essentially, "Sorry, that's just how it is here." I didn't even know this was part of a resort?! That is poor business practice. If additional fees are going to be added to the bill, they should be clearly disclosed before the customer orders. The grilled branzino was honestly the highlight of the meal and the one dish I would happily order again. Unfortunately, one great dish wasn't enough to make up for the disappointing oysters, octopus, sangria, slow service, and surprise fees. Overall, this was not the dining experience we expected, and I wouldn't rush back.

The restaurant has a small outdoor area on a little veranda, and the indoor area that isn't very big either. The design of the place is simple but pretty. The menu offers a nice variety - from small tapas to large main dishes like paella. I decided to try two hot tapas: ham croquettes and octopus with boiled potatoes. The croquettes were good, but not super delicious. The octopus dish, however, tasted fantastic; I really enjoyed it! Price-wise, the place does seem a bit pricey. For 4 small pieces of Serrano ham croquettes I paid $13, and the octopus was $20. Tapas usually don't cost that much, even at many other restaurants around Miami that I've been to. And considering that the croquettes were just okay in quality, I definitely think they should lower the prices a bit. Another annoying thing about this place - the 18% tip is automatically included in the bill. I truly hate when restaurants in Miami do that! And honestly, in this case, I wouldn't have tipped my waitress that high. She wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming. She gave me literally 2 minutes to choose my food (yes, I know I came late, but still...), took my order, brought it, and only came back once she noticed I had finished, just to ask if I was ready for the check. She didn't even ask how the food was. In my opinion, this wasn't 18% tip-worthy service. To sum up: I'm glad I tried this place. I might come back one day to try something else from the menu. I can recommend this restaurant, but be prepared - your final bill won't be cheap.

So after a yelp review of the tapas scene, I landed at Bulla Gastrobar in Coral Gables. A slight drive from the downtown area but proved to be so worth it. Once we arrived we were seated immediately and greeted by our beautiful, friendly and knowledgeable server Melody. After she explained the menu and made recommendations, she offered to course our plates out accordingly so it wouldn't arrive all at once. Five stars to Melody for taking great care of us. Now to the food... We started things off with the pan con tomate with Serrano Ham and manchego cheese. Although this is a staple of tapas dining in Spain I had never tried it and was impressed with the depth of flavor and the different notes that it offered. It was excellent and I highly recommend it. Next was the gambas al ajillo which are broiled shrimp in a garlicky pepper butter sauce. These were also excellent, so much so we ordered another batch, Then we tried the Albondigas which were Pork and beef meatballs, with manchego, tomate sauce. These were good but proved to be our least favorite of everything we tried. Next was the datiles rellenos which were bacon wrapped dates with a small salad. These were very good Lastly we ordered the Serrano ham croquettes which came with a wonderful fig jam. These proved to steal the show. Hands down 5 stars! Because it was happy hour until 7pm, I got a Spanish beer (Mahou) and a wonderful glass of Malbec for $6 each. The total bill for all this before tip was $112 which was well worth it for an extraordinary meal with great variety. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I came for the World Cup final game and it was so packed that I was in disbelief when the hostess found me a small table all the way in the back with unobstructed view of one of the TVs. Anyways, the Serrano ham croquettes are one of their specialties so I don't have to elaborate on that because I'm sure most of you have already tried them. They just melt in your mouth and you end up ordering more, right? RIGHT. The same goes for the Spanish omelette. One of their signature dishes and one they do really well here. Now as far as the cochinillo hash, I had mixed feelings about it. Take the potatoes and poached egg out of the equation, the braised shredded pork was either overcooked or maybe even burned a little. It was super dry and if it weren't for the egg I think I would have not been able to eat even half of it. It had a bitter after taste. Maybe I should've said something but it was too hectic in there to say the least. Perhaps I should've give it another chance. Ended with their famous and arguably one of the most delicious churros in town and it was all washed down with their refreshing red sangria.
