Eww!! The most awful experience. Food was so bland and not what was described. There was a girl who was cleaning floors as we walked in. Excuse me, that's about as dumb as you can get. And the owner just watches as we tip toe to our table. Lastly, after we ate the triple breaded chicken and also watered down chicken dish...there was a stink bug on the condiment!! While Sakura has decent prices for the amount of food you're getting, the service we received was absolutely awful. It was clear that they didn't have nearly as many servers as was necessary which led to a long wait time to receive our food. Our server made note that we needed more water but kept forgetting to do so, due to how large her section was. In addition to that, some appetizers that were ordered for the table arrived after the main entrees had arrived. When we let our server know we were still missing a plate, the server responded with "oh I think I know where that is." It took about 20 minutes to pay our check as the server struggled with getting change and messed up the transaction and had to request the card back. While I was still willing to give Sakura another shot, my friend and I experienced horrendous food poisoning after eating here. I don't intend on coming here again. read more

I've gotten sushi from just about everywhere in town. I have to say the sushi is very good, but you don't get your money's worth. We ordered a love boat for two to go and it was half of what we get at other places. I paid over $50 and didn't even get salads or soups. To top it all off, almost every time I've ordered it's cost more then what is listed on their menu. read more

This place is disgusting. We ordered takeout, my friend asked for "a lot" of soy sauce and they gave him one packet. My other friend ordered steak fried rice and there was two pieces of steak in it. I ordered steak pho, and they gave me the broth on the side with a pile of raw steak dripping in blood loosely wrapped in Saran Wrap and threw it on top of the raw vegetables. The actual restaurant stinks and the service is terrible. The ONLY good thing is the fried rice, just not with the steak. read more

Pretty good sushi! Tasted fresh and yummy! Good yum yum sauce too. I like the deal where you get 3 basic rolls for 11.49. Pretty good deal! It's not the absolute fanciest sushi I've ever ate, but for Harrisonburg, I'd say it's pretty good! Have been a handful of times and would come again. Waitress was great and very sweet but the food was just ok. I love Japanese curry so when I saw they offered curry on the menu I asked if it was Japanese style or Thai style and was told it was Japanese. When it came out I found that it was Thai style and was extremely disappointed. Tried for the first time. New to town, and scoping out eateries. Ordered at 9:10pm, pickup was 9:20closing is 9:30. Tried 2 similar ramen bowls, Hong Kong House and Duck. They were really good, except for all the bones. They were in every bite of duck and pork, it was initially quite painful for us and the kids. So biter beware!Again, it was still very good. My new favorite spot! I got the teriyaki fillet mignon and chicken, the meat was so tender it pulled apart with just two forks! The flavor was incredible and the steak was cooked to order perfectly. We recently moved from Boston, MA and are having trouble finding good food in the area. Luckily, we found Sakura! We really enjoy their sushi (love the "Shrimp Lover Roll"), pad thai, and hibachi. Thought it was a Japanese steak house cook at the table--absolutely not. Seated & very surly man came to get our drink order & ask what kind of salad dressing we wanted. We hadn't even ordered & were considering leaving since I had wanted the "show". I wish we had simply left. He didn't smile, wasn't friendly & didn't explain anything. Finally told us that everyone got salad. I ordered Habachi & my husband ordered sushi. Just ok. It was edible but nothing exciting. Staff continued to be unhappy & unfriendly. Stopped for lunch and had an excellent dining experience. My wife told me to meet her at the new Sakura for lunch and we were very impressed, started with a sushi roll for an appetizer, then she ordered hibachi chicken and I chose the hibachi shrimp, everything was excellent and the staff was very helpful and attentive, we will definitely be back. read more

We decided to try this restaurant after a movie on a Saturday night. When walking up to the restaurant, it looks very dark due to the window tint. As soon as we walked through the main doors, though, the atmosphere was great. The interior was updated and clean. We were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess who quickly seated us. Within a few seconds, our nice waitress came to the table to order our drinks and let us know that they were offering complimentary salads. Right now, they don't have alcohol. Hopefully they'll have alcoholic beverages soon but don't let no alcoholic beverages keep you from trying this place. We ordered 2 rolls (VA Roll & Colorful Roll). Both were delicious and fresh. We also ordered a chicken and shrimp hibachi dish, which came as a generous portion. This was the best hibachi in town that I've tried (compared to Kyoto's & Mr. Sato's). When all was said and done, we got 2 salads, 2 rolls, a hibachi dinner, and drinks for only $45 (pre-tip) at dinner. Between the updated interior, great food, and excellent service, I already can't wait to go back! read more

I was very hungry after a long trip and would eat anything, but I lost my appetite after trying soup, teriyaki shrimps and food in obentou. Had The spicy tuna and spicy salmon sushi. My brother had the shrimp and the crab sushi rolls. Neither had any flavor the tuna and the salmon are Puréed and all the sushi is mostly crunchies instead of meat.
