    Shrimp Shumai

Yum!!! I always get excited when I find a hibachi takeout spot while on vacation because there aren't many in Philly as they are usually dine in with the full experience for the most part. The shrimp shumai was gummy and typically I'm a huge fan but I wouldn't order these again from here--might try the pan fried option if anything but the steamed weren't great. The hibachi entree was another story however; very delicious and well cooked with a side of yum yum sauce to top it off of course. The customer service was nice!! They even had the classic Japanese sodas which took me back to my childhood so of course I got two of them--even tried the orange flavor for the first time and it was a hit!

Decided to come here with my family for lunch, while we were staying in the area. Our waiter was incredibly nice and so hospitable. Before we ordered our meal, we got a salad with ginger dressing, which was good. We were all in the mood for sushi! I split the Love Boat for 2 with my mom and my dad got the Angel roll. The Love Boat was the perfect size for two people! The nigiri was so fresh and delicious. Along with the boat, we ordered a California roll and JMU roll, both were good. Although, it took a bit for the Love Boat to come out, it was absolutely worth the wait. If I'm back in the area, I will definitely come to this place again!

This is without a doubt my favorite place to get food in Harrisonburg. You can't go wrong with anything you order here. My personal favorite is the rock'n shrimp bento box or the steak hibachi. I always end up leaving with leftovers (and the hibachi will give me 2 days worth of leftovers!). The prices are very good, especially as a broke college student on a budget. Their sushi is very good. I always order the Pink Lady. If you don't like the ginger salad dressing (complimentary salad!!), definitely go for the ranch dressing. I love both dressings! The staff are always friendly and the place is clean and nice. I can't even tell you how many times I've eaten here in the past 4 years, and it just never gets old. Sakura 10 has a special place in my heart (and I'll miss the hibachi SO MUCH...)

I was actually intending on dining in at Sushi Jako, which is just up the road, but they were closed to prep for dinner. So, naturally, I came here, as I've already tried out Sushi Village. I expected a pretty standard sushi place, but I believe I had something slightly above average for my first visit. I started with a sashimi platter for apps, and it was 7 pieces total including tuna, white tuna and yellowtail. Tasted pretty fresh, especially the white tuna, in bigger chunks than usual. I also ordered a standard spicy salmon roll and the Colorful Roll, which is one of the special rolls. Really nice flavor on the salmon, except there was something hard that I was biting into on every roll. Unsure exactly what it was, but I still enjoyed it. The real kicker was the special roll. It wasn't smothered in sauce and had a really good balance. The rolls weren't caked with rice, they had just the right amount. Good service as well, to add. High 3s/5.

I placed an order for 30 dollars worth of food and drove 15 minutes to pick it up. Upon arriving back at home I realized part of the order was missing. When I called to get a refund for what was missing, I was told that they cannot process refunds. Do not order from this restaurant unless you are fine with being scammed out of your money

Quick service, sat down and ordered then less than 10 mins later the food came out hot and a good size! Very attentive service, you must try the Yum Yum sauce! They give you a free small salad to start as well. Will be coming back again! Also try the lime candies.

Finally!! After trying a bunch of Asian restaurants in Harrisonburg, I've found good Asian food!! I made an order for takeout, and my food was ready for pickup within 30 minutes! Upon entering the restaurant, it was completely packed at every table on a Friday night which is always a good sign. The woman at the counter was very friendly and attentive to everyone walking in the door. This must be the only good General Tso's in Harrisonburg! I've tried most of the Chinese restaurants in the area, and Sakura's is by far the best. Everything was very fresh. The food was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and I could barely finish there was so much food (not super big into large portions, but I was impressed!). I regret not going to Sakura sooner!!

I've been really impressed with the variety and the different Asian flavors at Sakura! They give a free salad with every order- and have great sushi options. Recommend the volcano roll as a starter. The Szechuan dishes are the closest to true Szechuan pepper flavor I've had outside china.

I nice cheaper alternative to the $20 Japanese steakhouses. Good portion size. Tasted like a normal yummy hibachi. The gyoza was okay.

The hibachi and gyoza dumplings are good. Don't recommend the onion soup...it's overpowering and has a funny taste to it.

The first thing I noticed was the parking lot was small and packed full of cars. Inside it was much larger than it appeared. A nice hostess greeted us at the door and took us to our seats. We were seated with two other small groups. The waiter came out and took drink orders. I chose a Kirin Ichban Japanese beer along with some Gyoza as an appetizer. It came out quickly. Then we ordered our Hibachi meals. I had the chicken and shrimp. Mt daughter got the same. The meals came with miso soup and a salad. The main reason my daughter wanted to come was for the show. The chef clocked all of the vegetables, fried the rice, and cooked the meats with flair. A very entertaining atmosphere that added to the meal. The food was delicious as well. My chicken was cooked properly without being dried out or undercooked. It was a great dining experience.

I came with a particular need to get something that was both flavorful but not overly traumatizing for an ailing stomach. A miso ramen fit the bill nicely. While Japanese, the menu is vegetarian-friendly and offers ample customization. My ramen was tasty, but I did feel a bit shorted by getting only one marinated tofu sheet to finish off at the end. I needed some sushi to feel full, and fortunately, their inari with a seaweed salad filling were delicious, arguably more so than the ramen. A tea from their boba menu delivered some nice chia seeds and strong flavor, albeit with an aftertaste. I wouldn't say that my bar for ramen was reset, but as a regular driver along I-81, I felt good about having made this stop and wouldn't mind repeating it.

I guess I should've known better, but the make your own drink was mediocre because the guava option was based off a not-so-yummy juice. So next I ordered a drink off their menu and it was just alright. Honestly, I'd just skip out on drinks next time, but it was New Year's Eve so.. I did try to ask our server for drink reccs but she was 20.. So, we really enjoyed our ramens. Even the veggie ramen that I ordered, with a clear broth, was quite tasty - I've had clear broth options that were less flavorful. We also ordered a few additional appetizers. We shared some bao buns which were excellent, my partner ordered some meat skewers and I ordered a salmon nori taco. All in all, a great little shop. We considered coming back later on our trip but decided to explore elsewhere.

However, in the years since the pandemic, I can't help but feel like the quality of the food's gone down. I'm not sure if the recipe's changed or if they're using different ingredients - but it's just not that good anymore. I recently got the chicken hibachi for their lunch special and immediately, one of the things I first noticed was just how rubbery the chicken pieces were. They also tasted off and not even the yum yum sauce (which I'm pretty sure is different from the one they used to have) could save the taste. They also have a different mushroom soup now that has a lot more spice in it and the taste doesn't match with how it used to be. That being said, I will say that my wife has always enjoyed their sushi here and has never had a complaint on that. Also - the staff here have always been super kind and attentive. We've never had a single issue with the folks that work here. I can't speak of the atmosphere or state of the restaurant since I haven't dined here since 2013. Osaka's is also another staple of Culpeper and frankly - tastes better than Dragon Chef in my opinion. I just wish my recent experiences were as good as my old ones. If nothing else, the staff here are amazing and their sushi is worth coming back here for again and again. Best pricing for their lunch specials!

We ate in the bar - loved the vibe down there! The food was amazing! We started with salads - Caesar for the Hubby (as usual) and the Spring Salad for me (I subbed blue cheese for the goat cheese - I'm not a fan of goat cheese). Both salads were super fresh. They make their dressings in house and it shows. Ribeye rare for the Hubby and Filet mid-rare for me. We both had the crème fresh mashed potatoes. Steaks were cooked perfectly. And let me tell you, if you get anything, GET THE MASHED POTATOES!!! I swear these were the best I have ever had in my life. No joke - that includes my homemade and my Moms and Grandma's. Seriously. It's worthy to note that I asked for salt & pepper, as there was none on the table. It takes a really confident chef to not have salt & pepper on the table. So of course, I tasted first. I honestly did NOT use not one grain of either. The food didn't need it. Everything was seasoned perfectly! We ended the meal with crème brûlée, because if it's on the menu, we are ordering it. It was exceptional! Easily the second best we've ever had - and we've eaten a LOT of crème brûlée in our years. The service was absolutely spot on.
