Whilst driving north on I-81 I asked my chat GPT for a vegan Restaurant in Harrisonburg that was currently open, and this is one of several choices. It is located in a strip mall with ample parking not far at all from the interstate. I was promptly seated by a nice older woman who communicated with me by pointing. Don't get me wrong. I liked that as it brought authenticity to the establisment and very much unlike the time i went into a Chinese restaurant and they were blaring Sinatra music! Within a minute an Asian woman presented me with a menu and shortly afterwards took my order. I chose a cup of wonton soup and green curry with tofu as I was in a vegetarian mood. The wonton was hot and delicious with ample chives. Next came my red curry with tofu and steamed white rice, medium spicy, which was delicious as well! ( At other Asian restaurants in the past, I've made the sad mistake of ordering the "you asked for it" hot, and after about few seconds, lost my capacity to taste!) Being in proximity to James Madison University, there was a tablefull of collegiate who departed upon my arrival. They have a full bar in which I did not partake. ( Did i mention that I arrived at about 4:15PM on a Saturday in early April?) There were two, clean (important to me!) unisex rest rooms. My total was $22 to which i added a 25% tip. Was in the area recently for alumni weekend. Decided to stop by and try Thai Harrisonburg. The service was good. We were seated immediately and no need for reservations. We were able to ask and tailor food to our liking. I ordered the chicken panang curry. It might have been one of the best curry dishes I've had. Really good. This is the MOST AMAZING Thai food I have ever had! The pad Thai was tasty and plentiful to have left overs and the Penang curry chicken was incredible. Me and my husband came to Shenandoah National park for traveling. This is our first time in this area, we were looking for food that was close to our camp and found this place open. We went for dinner, the staff are very friendly. The lady upfront was very nice to us and recommended nearby attractions. We were staying at Massanutten and after being very disappointed with the food there, we decided to venture out. Thank goodness we did! Everything we ordered was delicious and plentiful, we had even leftovers to have it the next night. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable, turns out she is the owner's daughter, and her Mom is the chef! The restaurant is very warm-feeling, but classy, and it really feels like a Thai restaurant. We were seated immediately and given our waters. Our server was super kind and helpful. After we put in our orders the food came out in an about 5-10 minutes. I ordered the spicy Korean fried rice with a 3/4 spice level. And it was delicious! It wasn't too spicy for me, the flavor was amazing, and the tofu that I got with it were crispy and added spice and flavor to the dish. We also ordered coconut pudding, and sticky rice with mango. They were both so good. The sticky rice was warm and perfect and the mango was ripe and sweet. The coconut pudding was delicious and was just the right amount of sweet. My husband and I are visiting from out of town and saw that Thai Harrisonburg Restaurant just opened up. First thing we noticed was the cute Halloween decor. They have quite an extensive list of beverages and my favorite was the Blue Kamikazi! As for appetizers I highly recommend the coconut soup (Tom kha) with chicken, the seafood soup, and beef salad. For entrees we got the Chicken Noodle Curry (khao soi) and stir-fried ginger which was my favorite!! Van took great care of us. Definitely recommended giving this place a try. read more

Drunken noodle was subpar. Noodles tasted dry and dish had no flavor. My husband ordered minced (leap pie)chicken with fried rice one of the worst we've had. We ordered tea and we were charged 6.50 . My family and I were looking for a Thai restaurant to have lunch and did a quick search and the 1st restaurant that cane up was Thai Harrisonburg. The reviews were really high so we decided to give it a try. From the moment you walk in you are transported back to Thailand. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the resturant was beautiful. Were were the only ones there, but after a few minutes it started getting busier. Our food came out HOT, Fresh, and very delicious. We ordered the Chick Satay, Papay Salad, Chicken Rice Noodle Soup, Panang Beef Curry (that they made NOT spicy) and for desert the banana and whip cream rolls. When I say everything was 5 stars it WAS. This was the 1st time EVER that I could eat curry and not suffer from the effects. The chef knows how to bring the flavors together. The portions are very generous and you are definitely getting your money worth. I even had left overs to bring back home. I HIGHLY recommend this family restaurant and business. Let's continue to support our community. For those who are reading the 2 star reviews DO NOT pay them attention. There are more 4 and 5 star reviews so that should tell you something. The food was good! I ordered Panang Curry with Beef. I could almost drink the curry because it was really that good. I didn't even have to eat a lot of rice with it. My husband ordered General Tso's chicken and he also loved it. Needless to say we cleaned up our plates. The portions were just right. The ambiance was also great. Definitely the best Thai in town. We ordered 8 different dishes for take out and each one was amazing. My family is hard to impress and everyone was beyond happy with the quality. The crispy duck chili was a favorite. The pad Thai quality far exceeds anything in town. The GOONG OB WOONSEN was a delicious shrimp dish with great ginger flavor. The Krapow fried rice was perfectly spicy and so flavorful. One critique is potentially the curries were a touch too sweet, but they got completely finished and enjoyed nonetheless. The food is horrendous. They buy "shrimp tempura" from Costco!!!? They give you 5 frozen pieces for $11????!! Absolutely disgusting and a rip off. If I wanted frozen food I'd buy it myself from Costco. The same with the mozzarella sticks. Frozen From Costco and 5-6 for $11. Got the chicken on a stick and it was straight rubber and disgusting. Best Thai food in Harrisonburg, by far! I'm so happy that this place opened. We love their Thai Staunton location and were over the moon to hear that they opened up a location here, too. The menu is the same and the food is fantastic. The owners and staff are the nicest people. We ordered delivery and they made a mistake on one of the dishes (we'd ordered a vegetarian dish and they delivered it with meat.) We called and let them know and they were very apologetic and dropped off the correct dish fifteen minutes later, along with some complimentary Thai iced tea, which was very nice of them. They really care about their customers. We still have yet to try everything on the menu, but everything we've had so far has been great! We love the Tom Kha, Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, Cashew dish, and Kra Pow. read more
