Don't take 3/5 stars and run away with it. The place is good, not perfect, not great, but it's there for a buffet in Bakersfield. Service was friendly and good, did not have to worry about stacking plates all over the table. Now you pay upfront instead of at the end of the service. Now you get your own drinks instead of having to wait for refills. The food was not as good as I remembered before Covid-19, but it still is worth coming back for us. Sushi was good, nothing fancy, but still was worth the try. Icecream machine was down, but being worked on. They are quick, though, we only waited about 10 minutes before our group of six was seated. Pretty impressive. The staff is quick and efficient. The selection of food is probably the most of any other buffet place in Bakersfield. They are so quick on refilling all the entrees. Food never stayed empty long at all. Tastewise, everything tasted pretty good. No outstanding entree that I can recommend, though. Just solid tasty food. The stir fry station is delicious, I love how you can customize your own plate of chow mien/pad thai and see it get cooked right in front of you. I came here as part of my tour group so we kind of didn't really have a choice to eat somewhere else. I would think it's a stop for most tour groups too because they may have a contract with them. Compared to other Chinese buffet, I think this one is above the others. The food was exceptional well and they often brought out new batches of food so you should head towards those first. It was pretty busy today as well so it could have contributed to more food. I really liked the fried shrimp and mussels selection today. I would think I got my money's worth for the seafood portion alone. They have a wide selection of food too, from American to Chinese to Japanese. There were more soup selections too compared to other buffets. It's funny that I noticed there was mash potatoes at a Chinese buffet, which I've never seen before. The selection for salad items is basically non exsistent. Off the top of my head i only recall seein 4 types of chicken, a mushroom thing, beed n broc with no beef, a joke of a salad bar, fruit, and shrimp up the wazoo every single station except the fruit had a variety of shrimp 3. CROSS CONTAMINATION. As some one on the luckier end of sea food allergies im not as senstive as others. Every station had fish products. The most concerning for me is the one in the back corner. As it has clams in juice next to teryaki chicken in a juice. Off the bat we saw a clam IN THE CHICKEN which is right next to it!. Every station has a fish product that can be easily droped into and mixed into the other product. Theres no tellin how much of the juice in the chicken is acctually from the clams! If some unsuspecting person with a sea food allergy ate that not knowing THEY COULD FLIPPING DIE!!! ITS BEYOND IRRISPONSIBLE OF THE OWNER For goodness sake have all your sea food in one or 2 islands not spread to cause cross contamination especialy your liquidy ones! 4. This is really of no fault of their own just terrible peopl their beef n broc is just broc. No beef at all. 5. Flavor of the few items i felt safe eating just not good. This is one of the best buffets in town. Come on the weekend and you will see a long line. Be patient, you usually don't wait very long. Have been here numerous times. They have great service and fresh food. If you love seafood, this is the place! Crab legs, shrimp fried, breaded, sauteed with veggies, and in soup. Also, on weekend you can find baked green mussels and seafood mix in a scallop shell. Delicious. I like that you can grab a plate next to the sushi station and pick some veggies, noodles, and/or meat, shrimp for the cook to stirfry for you. I used to come here with my grandfather when i used to join them for Mass on Sundays. Since then, during my occasional return trips to Bakersfield ill check in on locations i used to frequent like this one just to see how they're doing. Now, i don't think ill come back here anytime soon, the quality appears to have dropped off significantly, with items coming out heavily greasy, items being over sauced and beef tasting like leather. The deserts appeared to have been out for awhile and some of the colors looked off, as if they were prepared with less ingredients or improperly baked. Horrible experience! We came to celebrate Father's Day and it was a sh@! show. They had the tables jam packed so everyone was sitting right by eachother there was no space at all.
