We came in thinking there was seafood.. of course there was but it's not like the cooked crawfish, fried shrimp, boiled crab legs like where the buffet we are from. There is a variety of food but it wasn't much I enjoy eating. Though sushi selection was excellent. I, myself love hibachi, but here, there was no shrimp as the protein. Service and price: Reasonable price and service was good. Ambiance: The place was nice, it was vibrant. Bathroom is not as clean though.

Pretty solid Chinese buffet at a cheap price point! They have the standard Chinese buffet foods from sesame chicken to spring rolls to sushi, and all the foods were pretty warm and fresh. I especially enjoyed the sushi, as there was salmon and other good sushi selections for lunch. I did think most of their dishes were quite salty though, and their desserts were kind of mid. The service was pretty quick and frequent, which was nice. I would say this is a good place for a large variety for not too much money, especially in comparison to a lot of the other touristy restaurants in downtown Savannah.

Visited my friend in Savannah, from Charleston, so went to this phenomenal all-you-can-eat sushi and more buffet, at $11.99 per person. It was amazing how much there was! The food was delicious. They offered everything under the sun...sushi, hibachi, hot and cold seafood, stir-fry, rice, soup, noodles, fruit, veggies, dessert. The service and ambiance were great. My only complaint was there was no low-sodium soy sauce available at all. Had to take extra blood-pressure medication, due to having to use full-sodium soy sauce. Otherwise, it was a great experience! Highly recommend!

Just about the best selection of sushi I have ever seen on a buffet anywhere. This place is seriously awesome and the rest of the buffet is great too.

I was very disappointed when a manager prohibited me and my service animal from entering the restaurant. Despite showing valid credentials, he insisted my medical helper was not a service animal. When he seemed unsure of what to say next, he brought in another person to translate in Vietnamese -- which I understood enough to realize they simply did not want us there. I left feeling discriminated against and deeply embarrassed.

I am more than happy with what you get for your money here. At $13 for a weekday lunch buffet it's cheaper than fast food, and you can eat as much as you want of their many diverse options. The food quality is, well, buffet quality. But there is a selection of items, including a salad, bar, sushi, the traditional items, and I think they have a hibachi in the back, but I didn't see anyone working there. Every item was kept filled.

The food options and combination is good. The service is stand, I have no complaints. The restaurant has a cafeteria vibe.

Arrived Sunday just after opening. Food was out and hot. Workers were friendly and polite. Very nice koi pond. Servers kept the old plates removed from the tables. They also kept the drinks full. They have several employees who walk around with radios and tell the kitchen what food is getting low. Great place to take hungry kids. They can eat a lot and not drive the food bill up.

"Sakura" is a popular name for a restaurant in Savannah but I was definitely at Sakura Buffet today where I stuffed my face. Lots of variety here and it was fresh stuff. A well cared-for buffet with surprisingly good sushi and several high protein items on the steam tables. Sure, you can get the fried and they have plenty of that but if you're looking for decent food that won't leave you anything but satisfied, Sakura gets it done. The theming is cute-- it plays nicely off of the existing structure and history, with just a bit of campiness. The roving Pirate was my least favorite part-- she popped in on us twice and delivered a few pirate puns. I would have appreciated if she was able to share more interesting tid bits about the building and its history. A bit of a missed opportunity to know your audience, especially in a quiet restaurant on a fairly dead night. Our waiter was excellent. He was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and paced our meal well. He made solid recommendations based on what we shared that we would enjoy. As far as the food goes, it was really surprisingly delicious. I had the she crab soup and an entree salad. The soup was flavorful and full of crab. The salad was huge, the grilled chicken was nice and overall, a very satisfying dish. Two in my party ordered the ribs and raved about them. The filet was well liked and the fried shrimp in the entree were flavorful, not overly greasy, and plentiful. The one dish that wasn't well liked was the fried catfish. The grits were dry and the catfish needed something else. Desert was nice but basic, I don't know that any of it was house made. The key lime pie was a little overly sweet, but the chocolate cake was a big hit. If you're on the fence, I'd say it's worth a try, for the charm and historical significance of the restaurant.

But once you do, you will find this to be a very adequate buffet experience. First of all, this restaurant is tucked in the corner of a strip mall located in a larger complex with multiple Asian dining options, including two different. Korean restaurants. But they are plenty of parking spaces. So you shouldn't have any issue here. The restaurant is not extremely large but has plenty of seating. And on the Saturday afternoon that we visited we were immediately seated. Now the restaurant is a bit dated, and the booth we were in definitely shows some wear and tear with both bench seats having the vinyl split right down the middle. There are a couple of TVs on running Fox News, and the dining room is relatively quiet with just the chatter from other tables and booths. The selection of food is pretty good given the size of the restaurant and the overall price point. They have pre prepared sushi, hibachi and a plethora of fried food options, both on the Chinese and American side. They have a small dessert menu, but not much in terms of options. They have a pretty impressive fresh bar with fresh peeled shrimp, mussels, and oysters, which I was a bit, surprised to see. The oysters were refreshed while we were there, so I decided to try a couple and they weren't bad at all. I'm usually a bit nervous about trying oysters at buffet, but they did a good job of keeping them really iced and chilled. Service was also really good with the owner greeting new customers as they walked in and our server staying on top of our drinks and picking up our empty plates promptly. And the best thing about this place is the price. For two people our total bill came to a little bit over $40. This is a really good value given the variety and the service. Definitely will be a standard in my rotation of buffets here in Savannah.

We were looking for something…read morecasual but filling for dinner and because we had not tried out this place yet but had driven by several times, we decided to check it out. Definitely a great decision on a hunch. This is an all you can eat hot pot concept and frankly my first time attending this version. While I have visited hibachi restaurants in the past, this is not that. Basically this is a dual table side prep concept where you can either make your own custom soups and broths, and hot pot seafood or you can select the grill and grill of a variety of fresh meats and fish and vegetables, or you can get both. Both come with a small dessert bar and seem to be accompanied with the additional Fresh salad and sauce bar, although I'm not quite sure if one of those may have been restricted if you did the grill only or the hot pot only. Pricing is pretty fair at about $30 a person which rises to mid 30s if you decide to get both options. We went with the combo because we had never tried this concept before, but in the future, I may lean more towards the grill option only. Especially if I'm not in the mood for hot pot or soup. But I definitely enjoyed the combination choice for our first visit. The meat and vegetable selections at this restaurant are pretty vast and this is after the server first sets you up and allows you to pick from several different types of broth for your hot pot. In addition, they have a sauce bar that must've had 20+ sauces available to choose from. I think one of the most overwhelming aspects of this concept is lack of familiarity with the right combinations of hot pot and grilled options. For this we leaned heavily on our server and she did a great job of guiding us through a couple of her favorite combinations, as well as some of the favorite combinations of other patrons. This was really helpful because there isn't a menu or chart to help you unlock all of the really cool combinations that you can put together including Ramen udon and Thai soup varieties. All of the ingredients you need to make any of those dishes, but in your own customize version, are here to your heart's desire. Service is really good as they do switch out the grills rather rapidly as they will get charred and start to burn and smoke after three or four rounds of fresh meats and veggies slapped on them. However, they do not switch out your broth choice so once you make your choice, that's what you're rolling with for the rest of the dinner. All in all we were really satisfied with the freshness and the preparation of most of the ingredients and sauces. I did think the dessert bar was a little weak given the multitude of options elsewhere, but I also understand that this is consistent with the cultural preferences, which don't skew as heavy on traditional sweets, like American taste do. All in all this is definitely a treat for those looking for a great date night or just looking to take the family out for a really engaging and tasty cook at your table experience - all you can eat style!

It was giving chain restaurant a little more than I expected. We tried the grilled oyster sampler, and while they all looked slightly different, somehow they all tasted like variations of Rockefeller. I could not tell you which was which. The she-crab soup? Absolutely not. Zero flavor. I took one bite and sent it back, and I rarely send food back. The shrimp & grits were... interesting. Very sweet, very corn-forward, and the texture was more porridge/cream of wheat than the thick, savory grits I had in mind. Was it terrible? No. On a rainy day, I could actually see myself eating a bowl of it. But if you tell me shrimp & grits, my mouth has already prepared for something completely different. Now--the fried green tomatoes? THAT was the star. Crispy, topped with a little crab salad and this hot sauce that pulled the whole thing together. The crab cakes were pretty solid too, especially with the two sauces, and the collard greens were tender and well done. Overall, I'd come back for lunch, oysters, drinks and a few appetizers. But dinner reservation? I'm not jumping through hoops. Savannah has too many really good restaurants for that. 3/5 -- cute, fun, a few hits, but the food needed a little more love.
