I'm not usually a buffet person, but my family loves them, so I found myself at Ole Times Country Buffet recently for dinner. Known for its Southern-style comfort food and welcoming atmosphere, this spot definitely exceeded my expectations in some areas. The buffet itself was clean, well-stocked, and filled with classic Southern dishes. The cheese grits, fried pork chop, oxtail and potatoes, and fried chicken were all standout items for me but it also included many other standard southern dishes you would expect. Everything was fresh, mostly flavorful, and exactly what you'd hope for at a Southern buffet. The staff was another highlight--our server and the two women working the cash registers when we arrived were super friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. That said, I am knocking off one star due to a rather uncomfortable interaction with a male employee. He kept making awkward and unnecessary comments every time I went to the buffet line--like a strange running commentary on my plate choices. Actual quote from him : "Ahh yeah, going for them grits. I knew she was a country girl." It was weird and off-putting, and frankly, it dampened what was otherwise a pleasant meal. I ultimately ended up making my sister go up to the buffet to grab items for me in order to avoid him. All in all, Ole Times is a solid choice for Southern comfort food, especially if buffets are your thing. Just maybe steer clear of certain employees at the buffet line.

Overall all the food had very good taste and flavor, we were so happy to be in Ms Queen's table area because she was fabulous! I think the waitstaff at the front drink area need to learn from her, we started there and they were very rude we moved and so happy we did. HOWEVER.... The sign on the door says no pets and there was a table that had a dog now the dog did not have on a vest that said it was a service pet. However, the lady was very adamant that the dog was her service pet, but the dog stayed with her son long story short come to find out. The lady was the manager's sister as great as that is. Everyone does not want to eat inside with an animal, and if the sign on the door specifically says no pets then that should apply to everyone not excluding family. The ambience was nothing special. It was a traditional buffet. I do appreciate how Miss Queen kept her floor area clean. I cannot thank Miss Queen enough for her time and attention, and she had a very busy area, but she was very attentive and should really train the other waitstaff on how to treat their tables Because she was phenomenal and really made this visit amazing!!

It's 7pm on a Tuesday (01.10.23) and everything is hot, fresh and seasoned to perfection. I guess the saying is true; third times a charm!!! You guys I'm really not over exaggerating everything is amazing!! Kiss the cooks ;-) Sn; it's not just the food the servers are great as well, I've had three amazing servers (they never fumbled the ball)

Really subpar food, giving this a rare 1/5. While I don't expect much from an all you can eat buffet, none of the food seemed fresh, and half the buffet seemed overly fried or pickled/ canned.

Relatives told me you can get some good seafood on Friday and Saturday so wifey and I took a road-trip with her cousins down to Savannah Ga. The ambience is a real country setting , down here you're always greeted as if you're family and the food also is like mama or grandma cooked it. The buffet has an abundance of selections to try collard greens cabbage turnips corn ,salad bars ,pasta bar, Mac and cheese, cheese grits, fried and grilled chicken, ribs , fish, shrimps clams ham,& so much more also all kinds of desserts. Food was delicious and the server was Johnny on the spot when it came to clearing are used dishes and refilling our drinks. Very good experience and highly recommended that this is a place to consider when you're in this area of Savannah

Because of that, I came in with fairly low expectations, but I left thoroughly impressed. The restaurant has a fascinating history and a great atmosphere, but what really stood out was the quality of the food. We started with a couple of appetizers, and every one of them was excellent. For our entrees, we tried the shrimp and grits and the fried seafood platter. The shrimp and grits were exceptional. The sauce had incredible depth of flavor, the grits were perfectly smooth and creamy, and the shrimp were cooked just right--tender, delicate, and never rubbery. The fried seafood platter was equally impressive. The white fish had a light, crisp breading that enhanced the flavor without overpowering it. The fish itself was moist, flaky, and cooked perfectly. The fried oysters practically melted in your mouth, with none of the graininess that fried oysters can sometimes have. The fried shrimp were outstanding as well--so good that several people at our table couldn't resist stealing a few from my plate! Our server was fantastic. He offered excellent recommendations, described each dish in detail, answered all of our questions, and checked on us regularly throughout the meal without ever being intrusive. We also enjoyed learning about the restaurant's history from a tour group that passed through while we were dining. Before leaving, we browsed the gift shop, which had a nice selection of pirate-themed memorabilia at very reasonable prices. Overall, this was an outstanding dining experience. I came for the history but would happily return for the food alone.

It is one of the city's oldest buildings and originally served as an inn and gathering place for sailors and pirates. I would give the overall experience 3 stars mainly because the food did not live up to the setting. I'll admit, I kind of had a feeling looking at the buffet that it might not be the highlight, but I really wanted fried chicken, so I went for it. If you visit, I would recommend ordering à la carte rather than doing the buffet. The buffet was underwhelming - the fried chicken was decent and the mashed potatoes were good, but most of the other dishes were forgettable. The à la carte options looked much more appealing, and I would lean toward the sandwiches and burgers based on what I saw. The complimentary biscuits were also great That being said, the service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and really helped make the experience enjoyable. The actual house is the highlight. Take some time to walk around and explore the different rooms - the historic details, atmosphere, and character are what make this place worth visiting.

But once you do, you will find this to be a very adequate buffet experience. First of all, this restaurant is tucked in the corner of a strip mall located in a larger complex with multiple Asian dining options, including two different. Korean restaurants. But they are plenty of parking spaces. So you shouldn't have any issue here. The restaurant is not extremely large but has plenty of seating. And on the Saturday afternoon that we visited we were immediately seated. Now the restaurant is a bit dated, and the booth we were in definitely shows some wear and tear with both bench seats having the vinyl split right down the middle. There are a couple of TVs on running Fox News, and the dining room is relatively quiet with just the chatter from other tables and booths. The selection of food is pretty good given the size of the restaurant and the overall price point. They have pre prepared sushi, hibachi and a plethora of fried food options, both on the Chinese and American side. They have a small dessert menu, but not much in terms of options. They have a pretty impressive fresh bar with fresh peeled shrimp, mussels, and oysters, which I was a bit, surprised to see. The oysters were refreshed while we were there, so I decided to try a couple and they weren't bad at all. I'm usually a bit nervous about trying oysters at buffet, but they did a good job of keeping them really iced and chilled. Service was also really good with the owner greeting new customers as they walked in and our server staying on top of our drinks and picking up our empty plates promptly. And the best thing about this place is the price. For two people our total bill came to a little bit over $40. This is a really good value given the variety and the service. Definitely will be a standard in my rotation of buffets here in Savannah.

We were looking for something…read morecasual but filling for dinner and because we had not tried out this place yet but had driven by several times, we decided to check it out. Definitely a great decision on a hunch. This is an all you can eat hot pot concept and frankly my first time attending this version. While I have visited hibachi restaurants in the past, this is not that. Basically this is a dual table side prep concept where you can either make your own custom soups and broths, and hot pot seafood or you can select the grill and grill of a variety of fresh meats and fish and vegetables, or you can get both. Both come with a small dessert bar and seem to be accompanied with the additional Fresh salad and sauce bar, although I'm not quite sure if one of those may have been restricted if you did the grill only or the hot pot only. Pricing is pretty fair at about $30 a person which rises to mid 30s if you decide to get both options. We went with the combo because we had never tried this concept before, but in the future, I may lean more towards the grill option only. Especially if I'm not in the mood for hot pot or soup. But I definitely enjoyed the combination choice for our first visit. The meat and vegetable selections at this restaurant are pretty vast and this is after the server first sets you up and allows you to pick from several different types of broth for your hot pot. In addition, they have a sauce bar that must've had 20+ sauces available to choose from. I think one of the most overwhelming aspects of this concept is lack of familiarity with the right combinations of hot pot and grilled options. For this we leaned heavily on our server and she did a great job of guiding us through a couple of her favorite combinations, as well as some of the favorite combinations of other patrons. This was really helpful because there isn't a menu or chart to help you unlock all of the really cool combinations that you can put together including Ramen udon and Thai soup varieties. All of the ingredients you need to make any of those dishes, but in your own customize version, are here to your heart's desire. Service is really good as they do switch out the grills rather rapidly as they will get charred and start to burn and smoke after three or four rounds of fresh meats and veggies slapped on them. However, they do not switch out your broth choice so once you make your choice, that's what you're rolling with for the rest of the dinner. All in all we were really satisfied with the freshness and the preparation of most of the ingredients and sauces. I did think the dessert bar was a little weak given the multitude of options elsewhere, but I also understand that this is consistent with the cultural preferences, which don't skew as heavy on traditional sweets, like American taste do. All in all this is definitely a treat for those looking for a great date night or just looking to take the family out for a really engaging and tasty cook at your table experience - all you can eat style!

Our Uber driver highly recommended Sorry Charlie's, so we decided to give it a try. Our first visit was genuinely pleasant, which is why we came back. However, our second visit was ruined by an encounter with the manager. This person was extremely rude and dismissive--I'm genuinely shocked she works in the service industry. We arrived for dinner and were told there would be a 10-20 minute wait, which we agreed to. After approximately 20 minutes, the manager stormed across the restaurant and yelled at us as if we were children, demanding we not stand by the hostess stand. We had never been instructed to wait elsewhere. My wife reacted as anyone would have and expressed her frustration. The manager then escalated the situation, exchanged words with us, and ultimately kicked us out while threatening to call the police. Hoping to resolve things professionally, I returned the next morning to have a mature conversation about the incident. The manager's response was condescending: "You guys are brave coming back in here." This unprofessional comment from management spoke volumes. The food quality is excellent and the staff is great, but this manager is a significant problem. She is unsuited for customer service and needs to find work elsewhere.
