I toured Sakura Crossing and strongly considered signing a lease here last year, but I had a frustrating experience during the application process. The staff was kind, and the building has some nice features--especially the rooftop area and the theater room (which was under renovation at the time). The location in DTLA is solid, and I was initially excited about the place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What changed things for me was the process around the holding deposit. They sent me a link that did not work with any of my browsers or computers due to security warnings about a suspicious download.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't in the application portal like other documents, and I wasn't sent a signed PDF copy either. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On July 26, I scheduled a tour at Sakura, which was confirmed for today, August 2nd, at 2:00 PM.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I arrived early at 1:40 PM to allow time to locate the parking garage and follow the instructions outlined in my reminder email. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the garage entrance was blocked by someone unpacking a U-Haul. I circled the block three times in hopes they would finish, but the entrance remained inaccessible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I then called the number listed in the email. The woman who answered informed me she was not on-site and advised me to find street parking, stating there was no designated parking for future residents.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I mentioned the email clearly provided garage parking instructions, she seemed confused and said someone would call me back. It has now been over two hours, and I have not received a follow-up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This experience was disappointing and raises concerns about the level of communication and coordination I might expect as a resident.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While I was genuinely interested in the community, today's experience has led me to reconsider. I've been living at this apartment building for many years now. The unit itself is nicely designed, better than most in the area. Good amount of storage for a 1 bedroom apartment. I'm naturally neat and organized so my unit is pretty much better than the condition when I moved in. Security - Overall, I haven't felt unsafe living in this building. I've heard stories about homeless in the stairways, theft and vandalism in the garage levels, and amazon boxes being stolen but sadly, I think this would occur anywhere in downtown complexes. At the moment, it does not happen too often so I can't really complain. I'm glad that the base level of security implemented here does keep most of the danger at a safe distance. Common Areas - These areas have really gone down hill over the years. I didn't include any pics with this review but you can see for yourself if you come here on a tour. The worst is the corridors leading up to the units, especially the top level 6. The carpet is just filled with urine and feces stains from pets. It's so bad that it is difficult to pick out parts of the carpet that is not disgusting. The parking garage is "swept," every now and then but honestly, it looks the same - very dirty, garbage dumped by people who could not be bothered to find the trash bin, and stains everywhere. read more

Two stars of this rating belongs to Hiromi. If it weren't for her, this review would be a lot different in a bad way. Hiromi is an absolute rock star and goes above and beyond than I would ever expect a Leasing Manger/Consultant to do. She's polite, always has a smile on her face when dealing with residents, and goes out of her way to make sure your packages make it to you or your doorstep safely. Equity Residential should be extremely grateful that she's working for them. One star goes to the maintenance crew. They're fast, efficient, and friendly. They also practically saved my Thanksgiving by fixing my oven in time before cooking day. Now here's why I couldn't bring myself to give this establishment five stars and I REALLY hope Equity reads this and takes it all into consideration: - Apartment Cleanliness: The apartment wasn't entirely cleaned as I had hoped or expected it would be. A lot of the nooks and crannies were still filthy (the previous tenant definitely wore shoes inside the apartment) upon moving in. The shower sliding door also had this strange stain or mold developing that wouldn't come out no matter how hard I personally tried to clean it off. - Windows: Not only does Sakura Crossing never clean them, but the low-quality blinds covering them barely keep any sunlight out. So if you plan on ever sleeping in on a non-rainy day, then I've got some bad news for you. - Roaches: Unfortunately, we had a few roach episodes. A couple shortly after we moved in and a few more before we were moving out. And those were the times that we were aware of. Not sure what may have gone done while we were gone/asleep. - Building Tidiness: It's an older building, I get it, but still, it's not THAT old and yet it sure feels like one. The elevators aren't as clean as some of the other properties as well as the hallways. Wakaba's hallways and elevators are 10x more inviting than Sakura's. Lots of stains on the floor and the awkwardly dim lighting. Also, that rancid stench near the first floor elevator: what the hell even is that? It wasn't there when I moved in and then for months before I moved out it just smells like actual feces or something. Get that cleaned up already. - Security Deposit: Yeah, don't plan on getting majority of it back. I was originally going to give four stars to my review, but after seeing the full itemized list of deductions, I'm actually a little pissed. Aside from the final month's utilities, they're definitely running some grimey corporate policies to screw you out of as much of your deposit as possible. I've never lived in an apartment where I didn't receive most of my deposit, yet with this one I barely got 30% of it back. They'll charge you for the cleaning for the next tenant (which the cleaners don't even do a fantastic job of as I had mentioned earlier in the review) which is disappointing. To my understanding, security deposit deductions should only be taken due to extreme repairs/restorations and not from routine cleaning or normal wear-and-tear. With the amount I got back, one would think I practically terrorized the place which is far from the truth since I know I left those floors way cleaner than they were when I had first moved in. So again, the lack of a 5-star review is on you, Equity Residential. Your staff is great, but your care about the building and your tenants' experience is not. 6 months into my residency here and compared to other places I've lived in and while managing my expectations, I'm still grateful. I always start with kindness and that's what I get back here. I'd like to send my compliments to the maintenance team for their timely service especially the man who responded to my midnight request. My smoke detector started beeping, I called the main number, got someone to take care of it around 2 am, answered my questions and concerns, and I was able to get back to sleep. Updating my review: I loved Sakura while living there, although was quite put off by finding really unpleasant filth (looked like things that were food in a previous life) in the top-most kitchen shelves, and one of the bedrooms had no light fixtures, so had to use a lamp. Other than that, life was good, the folks who worked there and the other tenants were overall very nice, and we got used to the police helicopters taking off and landing so close by. Sadly, (1) a new apartment building was built so close that there was simply no privacy unless shades closed all the time, making the place seem dark and even smaller, plus lost the view of the mountains, and (2) management imposed a very large rent increase. So we decided to move on. That's when management showed its true colors and, when Yelp asked if I wanted to update my review, I took the opportunity because of the following experience: We were able to find a new place and move into it before giving notice to Sakura that we wanted to have our pre-move out inspection of our apartment. The inspector was over an hour late for the appointment, and was very surprised to find the place empty except for the folding chair I sat in while waiting for him. It had gotten dark right about the time of his late arrival, so he had to use his phone flashlight to look at the bedroom that had no lights. He signed off the inspection saying there was no damage in any of the rooms, etc. and (happily, as it turned out) I had him note that we had already moved out and the apartment was empty. A couple of days later, we were told they were not going to release our hefty security deposit because of the damage in the bedroom that the inspector said he was unable to inspect because it was dark! We were able to fight back and get all our security deposit back based on the signed copy I had showing all was in perfect condition. From what I hear from others, I think these corporate folks make a lot of money on move-in, move-outs and will typically do those inspections when tenants still have their belongings in the place, then after the move, the management claims damage to walls, floors, etc. in areas that weren't visible during the inspection because the tenant's furnishings were covering them.... read more

Clean/well-maintained building with great amenities. Pet friendly and really welcoming and friendly staff. Prompt to reply to any issue or question and maintenance is a breeze. I love how everything can be done through the app (paying rent, reserving rooms, maintenance requests, etc) Could use better building security to mitigate loitering by neighbors who are homeless and there is no consideration when it comes to their rent increases. They will follow the market with no exception. There is no cap in CA for buildings/areas that aren't rent controlled. My rent went up nearly 10% at Sakura and no room for negotiation. If you're locked into a higher rate and market declines, no room to negotiate there either even in signing a new lease. That's what you get with a large management company I guess :/ read more

Stayed here for a year and they're SCAMMERS. We were advised before our lease ended that there would be an inspection on our apartment to let us know what we'd need to fix. During inspection the guy told me that in order to get the deposit back then we'd have to leave it how we found (which I agreed with) he stated that to repaint the place it would cost 220 and to clean 80 but we had the option of doing it ourselves which we wanted to do in order to get our deposit back. We painted and cleaned and left the place in better condition than found and these scammers didn't give us our deposit because "they had to clean and paint" I asked for proof and they couldn't provide. I even took pictures of the place before we left and it was spotless. On top of that they charged us a fee for leaving a day early. Seriously? That wasn't stated anywhere. We should've just left the apartment how it was furniture included and let your staff break their backs over it. On a side note there were also roaches in the apartment, the halls always smelled like weed and elevator was always broken Trash place. read more

Living here for about 1.5 years. The general amenities are decent. However, they are very low staffed. If you order online, have your packages shipped to work because there's hardly ever anyone at the front desk. In the lobby, they have a small work room with 2 computers and a flat screen where I saw 3 people watching porn one night. They're ALWAYS inside your apartments for inspections and such. I came home to my stuff thrown all over the place! THE STAFF JUST TOUCHES YOUR STUFF AND THROWS IT AROUND!!!! I just renewed my 2 year lease. The first year they increased rent by 9.22% and the second they attempted 5.52% increase on top of the parking fee of $70 added within the last year. I was able to negotiate a lower rate of increase but still, the increases here are ridiculous. The combined proposed increase was more than a car payment. The staff are generally nice but communicating with them usually feels like pulling teeth. The building is in good condition with quiet neighbors that don't pick up their dog waste. I wish the building would do something about this. There's a small dog park which is a nice amenity but it is covered with fake grass so urine and other things don't drain as they would in soil or dirt. This makes pets susceptible to bacterial infections if they use it. It also makes the area stink, especially during the summer. At the time of my last lease renewal, the autopay I set up in the renter portal was disabled so rent was "late" and I was forced to get a cashiers check to pay on top of a late fee. So here I am wasting time and money so they can make a profit. The elevators seem to regularly need maintenance which is pretty annoying. One was once unavailable for several weeks. The elevator has key codes which was really convenient for visitors and others. However, access was removed because it was being abused or something. This makes it impossible to get people into the building without going down to get them. Security and whatever aside, it's annoying that I'm paying the consequences for something that's not my problem. The location is great but I certainly won't be renewing my lease again on the principle that I don't want to be taken advantage of with some borderline hostile policies. Shame on them. The night staff and concierge are always nice though. read more

A lot of the people living there don't care about policy and privacy and will insult you or smoke weed/cigarettes in the hall. Kenneth - I was moving in a hurry, but Kenneth managed to help me tour the unit, prepared all paperwork, sign the lease, fix one minor issue in the apt all within 2 consecutive days! AJ - Just today I needed some urgent help in my unit and bc the service agent was in another appointment so we couldn't get him to help in short notice. Going to update my review. Going to talk about the good, the bad, and the stupid. In that order. I wish Yelp had a half star option. I would give this apt a 3.5 review. The good: I have lived here since 2015. So going on almost four years. This apartment has been the longest I've ever lived in. So that should mean something. Out of the the years I have lived here, I never had a single problem with any of my neighbors or the staff. I never had to file a noise complaint so far. The staff here has been great the whole time I have been living here. They are on point with any issues that I have had. The elevators has not broke down since my last review. The bad: As per my last review, the elevators broke down often. Since then, they have not (plus!). The gates although are a different story. The rent goes up at a minimum $100 a month. Free for all parking. Yes, parking is scarce in LA. But the FFA parking is a bit stupid imo. I shouldn't complain though since I don't get taxed extra like other apartments do. The stupid: the building is controlled access. Meaning you need a key fob to access the building/floor. Dope. They originally gave residents a private number to give others access for deliveries or what not. Then they got rid of it because it was a "safety" issue. That is fine and dandy. But if I'm trying to order food delivery, what was once them delivering food to my door, I now have to go down. Yes, I'm a lazy ass. All in all, it's not a bad place to live. read more

Picture the stereotypical, billion-dollar corporation. Now picture working there. Now picture living there. Essentially, that is what it is like to live at Sakura Crossing. Owned by the publicly-traded company Equity Residential, Sakura Crossing has many of the benefits associated with a large corporation: (+) Wonderful amenities (+) Ritzy decor and (+) A good location. But, it also has all the drawbacks associated with a large corporation: (-) Political gridlock (-) Monetary greed (-) Confusing processes (-) Disappearing staff (-) Response-less management and (-) Noticeable inconsistencies. In order to keep this post [slightly] shorter than a novel, I will highlight the three things that best exemplify why I do not like the property and why I URGE you to look elsewhere. 1) Management is terribly inconsistent, coming down hard on tenants in some situations, yet completely omitting action in others. Management is a stickler with parking, the hours of their theater/rec room, tenants posting on bulletin boards, guest visitation, and their property inspections. All of this would be acceptable if the same amount of rigor was applied elsewhere. However, elsewhere, management is overtly lenient. Many guests have dogs that are clearly over 40 pounds. Others still do not pay the pent-rent and sneak in more pets. Loud parties never seem to be quieted--nor does the sound of the construction (which we all received an email that they would work on). And, whenever you ask an undesirable question to management, they simply ignore it or do not return your calls. And perhaps worst of all is the fire alarms, which leads me to my next item. 2) The leasing staff omits facts to sell units. First, I was told during my walkthrough that the "fire alarm problem you may have read about on Yelp is solved." However, within my year of living there, somewhere near 20 fire alarms went off--sometimes at early hours in the morning--and ALL of these were later proven to be false alarms. THIS IS DANGEROUS seeing as most people in the community now simply ignore the alarms, making all residents susceptible to a real fire. Furthermore, I was informed that problems would be solved within "48 hours" of their submission. Shortly after moving in, oil from the restaurant in Sakura Crossing began leaking through the floor into the garage and dripping on my car. All in, it took multiple calls, emails, in-person chats and online submissions to get the problem solved--and worse still, a solution was not reached for over TWO MONTHS. Finally, I was told that there would be a 24-hour concierge/security person assigned to the front desk area. Good luck with finding them though! They show up intermittently throughout the evening, and if you happen to have an emergency, a food delivery, a parking issue, or any other number of things that could happen after 6pm, you are more-likely-than-not to be on your own in trying to solve it. 3) You are guaranteed a price hike at the end of your lease, and it is not negotiable, despite what they may say. When I got my "offer" for extending my lease, I was shocked to see a 10% bump in price if I signed on for another lease and a nearly 20% bump if I went month to month. This was especially surprising since new, competitive apartments were just built right behind Sakura Crossing! Coincidentally, these same apartments blocked the view of the city that was said to "garner the higher price" of my unit in the first place. I was assured when I called the front desk that if I called the leasing specialist, they would be happy to work with me. As it turned out, no matter what I brought up, they did not work with me and were more than eager to push me out of the unit when I explained why their price quote was unjustified. The picture I got from this was that unit prices are set at a level "higher up," and the apartment-level managers have little ability to make marginal decisions or exceptions. * * * * * There is an old saying that "you get what you pay for." Here that is not the case. You pay a premium for what, when push comes to shove, is a "pretty" place to live. Everything else, especially for the price, is hard to stomach: the inconsistent promises, the frustrating fire alarms, the non-negotiable price hikes, and much more. My sincerest advice: LOOK AROUND LONG AND HARD, before settling on Sakura Crossing. And I believe, although I cannot be certain, this is an indication of how most Equity apartments are run, so also be aware if you are looking at others too. read more

Mari has done an exceptional job at helping us out throughout our time here and has been very accommodating to any of our concerns/ needs. We've recommended a couple of our friends to move into Sakura and she has assisted all of them as well. Donavan, the concierge, is extremely welcoming and friendly. Always a great person to talk to when you're just passing by the front office. He also makes living at Sakura feel very safe. When I first saw Sakura Crossing I fell in love, Brand new building, wonderful location, and looked "Luxury"... I still wish I felt the same. THE BAD 1. love that it's dog friendly, but no one picks up the poop. 2. The floors are so thin that I can hear the people above me ALL night. It 3. even rattles my living room lights. 4. The buildings fire alarms go off ALL the time (even at 5 AM) The upside to that is that I'm a pro at exiting the building in under 2 minutes! 5. Not enough Bike Racks for everyone. Just renewed after my first year here. Great location and clean comfortable complex with nice amenities. Rooftop patios have fireplaces and nice views at sunset. Julia was my leasing agent. I found her to very professional while also sincere and friendly. Last year I called on a Sunday around 4:30. Julia said she'd wait while I came by so I wouldn't have to wait to Monday. A little touch that made it convenient for me as she made the extra effort. She's handled all my questions and issues diligently and quickly. Julia was great with my lease renewal; she explained my options and I was happy to renew my lease. She always has a friendly hello as you walk by, or a wave and smile if she's helping another person. I've worked in commercial real estate for 20 years. Julia is a real estate professional. I respect that she has a well balanced technical and interpersonal skill set. Driven and disciplined as well. You'll feel comfortable knowing your options and making your choices with confidence if you decide to drop in. Another leasing agent, Nielco saw a large box delivered to me but left unattended on the mailroom floor. It was a delivery of Freshly meals. She took the box into the office and contacted me that it arrived. Could have turned out differently. I appreciate that was professional and that she cared. I have no doubt she would be great to work with too. I like this location, there is the little alley/street (Toyo Miyatake Way) that cuts between San Pedro St. and Los Angeles St. A convenient place to park for quick drop offs or pick ups away from the heavy traffic. An (Wells Fargo) ATM 20 feet from the front door is always nice to have too. And there are about 500 tea and coffee shops within a block to choose from on some of those mornings. When I lived here I thought it was a great place. Julia and Mari are great. The maintenance crew is great. Don on the night shift is awesome. The problem started when my lease renewal came up. First the apartment messaged me that my new lease would be $300 a month higher. I decided to move out. When I received my final move out expense the charges didn't make sense so I requested the full breakdown. Their automated calculating system was completely wrong and the prorated amount was much higher than it should have been. I emailed Nielco about it and had to explain the math in detail before they realized I was right. When I went on the web portal to pay my final charges the website was asking me to pay an all in rate that didn't match and I emailed again. No response. I had to walk in and Julia was great enough to confirm the amount to pay is per the email. I did so but the payment date was late by 1 day because I wanted clarification and I travel a lot so walking in wasn't easy. (I requested 5 days in advance) After move out I followed up on my deposit and they told me I owed money. All because there now was a late fee. So I emailed the property manager Leo and provide all the proof of communication and requested that they waive the late fee. Leo came back and basically says they did their job and I had to pay it. It's $25 extra I had to pay. Not enough to keep disputing over but now they get this review. I've stayed at another Equity Apartment before. Didn't have the same issue. As much as I think some of the staff deserve 5 stars I'm coming back now to give 1 star because unless you request a full breakdown of charges and look at every line item you'll never know if they're wrong. They hide it in a lump sum and this is system generated. read more

If I could take away this star I would. Horrible customer experience, overpriced, you overpay for water and electric bill, any emergency, you guessed it, pay more for it to be solved. You need assistance? Die waiting...but if you pay, they will solve it quickly, of course. Not recommended to my worst enemy. read more

I'm going to be as level headed and fair minded as possible in this review - Before I moved Downtown, this building was the one I would drive past and fantasize about. "Gee, wouldn't it be awesome to live THERE?" So when I saw the ad on Craigslist last summer, I was elated. It seemed perfect for someone leaving the 'burbs for the big bad city - Parking - which was plentiful and secure 24 hour state of the art gym with personal tvs - which I used for a time but eventually stopped going (not because of the building, because I'm a lazy ass) A pool - which I never EVER used...partly because I'm not a big pool person and partly because it is situated smack in the middle of the building and I don't really want to be in a bathing suit while all the interior facing units can watch me A cinema room - seemed cool, never used it A club room - very cool, only used it once or twice A media center with computers - which was great but I had internet in my unit so I never needed it A washer/dryer in the unit - THIS WAS MY FAVORITE THING UBER tight security - You need a remote to get ANYWHERE and Mike or another security person was always on call. I always felt super duper safe and that is wonderful. Mike was really a highlight of my year. Also, because I was on the top floor in the corner unit, I had a killer view and no issues with hearing neighbors (and I have to be honest, if you live in an apartment building, you're going to hear people fucking and smell weed - grow up you big baby). But I never had any issue with that because it wasn't noticeable AT ALL. And I loved the close proximity to ramen and sushi restaurants - that part was gold. However, with all that good stuff, I moved at the end of my lease, here's why - Fire alarms - Seriously, in the 11 1/2 months I lived there, there were at least 11 times the fucking alarm went off. Only one time was legit and blared and blared from midnight to 3 AM!!! And rather than apologize for the inconvenience, there was a smug note where management patted themselves on the back for the system working. Price - I was told my apartment was going to be $1700 with a month off the 12 month lease. When the lease was put in front of me, it was magically 1795. When the renewal came up, the price went up. I get that there are lots of amenities but I didn't hardly use any of them, so it wasn't worth it for me. Location - I love Little Tokyo. It's clean, it's safe, it's great. But it's also about a mile from downtown proper (the core) and walking from Spring to Sakura is not for the faint of heart. It's a bit to far off for anyone who really wants the downtown LA experience. Management - Even when the company was bought out, everyone was super friendly. However, there were some major irks that really pissed me off. First of all, I moved in on a Sunday and requested to reserve the "freight elevator" not only was that NOT reserved but with the original company, Sundays no one was there...it caused a VERY stressful move in. After the change, and once I decided to move out, I was very forthcoming and constantly talked to the leasing agent, Fabio, about requesting the elevator closest to my unit for my move out (that request was denied even though the week before another tenant did it for a move in), and addressing when I had to fill out exit paper work, etc. He always, any time I dealt with him, assured me that he would call me and let me know. That didn't happen. Ever. I felt like I was badgering him at some point because he just could not be bothered to call me back. This continued after I moved out when I had a quick question about my deposit return. I was told I'd get called back later that day, I called two other people in the week following and FINALLY was called back several days later. It was not that big a deal but it just really pissed me off especially because I went out of my way to turn in my keys a week early so they could move a new tenant in asap. Community - Frankly, there was none. Most of the other tenants were not friendly or welcoming. I knew my next door neighbors name and we exchanged pleasantries but I never felt a sense of community at all. When I moved to my new apartment, I had at least 3 neighbors welcome me...not at Sakura - I felt like a jerk for just saying "Good Morning" to people and that is no fun. I got my deposit back quickly - they take out about $300 for bullshit cleaning but I wasn't surprised. If you want a place that looks super clean and is VERY security minded, and money isn't an issue, this is the place for you...enjoy! But for me, someone who lives alone and doesn't need all the bells and whistles, it was a perfect gateway building, but I quickly was ready to get into a building with a bit more character. read more

I lived here for two years. I went through the phases of any long-term relationship: honeymoon, comfort period, slow decline, bitter breakup, and now nostalgia. A month after moving into a new apartment, I finally feel qualified to write an informed review: The Great Things You Already Know: - Stainless steel appliances and granite counter-tops. I don't cook, but it does look pretty. - In-Unit Washer and Dryer. I can't believe I have to use coin operated laundry now that I've moved out. It depresses me. - The bathrooms are big and the toilets are oval. I hate pooping in round toilets. The Great Things You Don't Know - The building is only a few years old. That means NO BUGS. I never saw a cockroach once, and maybe only a spider a few times. - There are attractive women that live here. I never attempted to talk to a single one, but they're there. - There are more spaces in the garage than there are registered cars. I let my friends park inside for short periods all the time and nobody ever got towed. I attribute this to my amazing luck so don't blame me if you get towed. - The Domino's Pizza guy gets here really fast. It's a mile away and they ride a bicycle. Half the time the delivery boy is high as a kite. The Bad Things May or May Not Know - It's very expensive. I started at $1620, then it raised to $1680, and I finally had to abandon ship when they raised it to $1840 (although they did lower it to $1760 after I said I was moving out). You may be sold on all the great amenities but after a month my routine inside the building consisted of moving from my desk to my bed, and occasionally to the bathroom to relieve myself. - Little Tokyo in general is expensive. The food, the grocery shopping. If you're looking for a really cheap eat just around the corner, there really isn't one within walking distance. However, McDonald's is on Alameda and 7th and Jack-in-the-Box is on Beaudry and Cesar Chavez. There's also King Taco way down on San Pedro, which doesn't become a necessity until after 3am on weekends. - Skid row is a few blocks away, which contains one of the largest homeless populations in the US. But hey, at least you're living in Elysium (yes, I did just reference an average movie that nobody watched). The Completely Unfortunate and Unlikely to Happen to You: - The fire alarm situation has mostly resolved, but they used to go off several times a month in the middle of the night. The alarm was so loud that it would penetrate into your skull and drive you to madness. Which is great if, you know, there's actually a fire. Eventually someone on my floor got wise and disconnected their alarm. Some time later, there was a notice on everyone's door that if the person who disconnected didn't fess up, they would be fined over a thousand dollars once maintenance checked every apartment. If they did admit to it, they'd only be fined a smaller amount. What is this, the Spanish Inquisition? - The power in my unit used to completely shut off once a month. The first few times I would have to call LADWP and wait 30 minutes to several hours for someone to show up and fix it, while watching YouTube on my phone and praying that my Mickey Mouse Chicken Nuggets didn't melt. Eventually I would just ask the front desk for keys to the electrical room so I could go in and reset the breakers myself. Eventually they found the problem and fixed it, but it took way too long. To my knowledge, this has not happened to anyone else in the building. I just wanted to complain about it. If you can afford it, live here. read more
