    Chicken Bento Box
    Irving R.

This was a good spot. I got the chicken bento box with the chicken dumplings instead of California rolls. The chicken had a good char on it that is so necessary for that wok hei. The dumplings were tasty too. I'd come back to this place for sure.

    Sashimi Combo

This review is based on ordering out through delivery apps such as Uber eats and door dash. I have ordered from here and the location in Harrison quite a few times over the past year and usually order the chicken or shrimp teriyaki. I have no complaints regarding those meals! The portions are very generous! I usually have left overs for the next days. I've never had issues with my order. My order always comes correct and I'm the estimated time. Today I ordered the 16 piece sashimi combo that come with a side of miso soup. I also got a side of eel sauce because what's sushi without delicious eel sauce?!? The combo includes yellowtail, tuna, salmon, and octopus, squid and white fish. The miso was really good and tasted fresh. The sashimi was really good as well. No complaints. Everything was delicious!

Wanted a quick afternoon bite and I was already in the plaza so I decided to try Sakura. The first thing that I noticed was that it was a beautiful, new and modern venue. It was not busy at all, I immediately got to order my food as soon as walked in. I walked in with the intention of ordering the spicy shrimp roll from browsing through the menu on Yelp but was told they don't sell that. So I would advise they update their menu. I ended up ordering a regular shrimp roll and (keep in mind I'm not sushi expert ) but I thought it was good. Nothing too special. The place was very clean. They stocked one corner with plenty of utensils, hot sauce, and to go condiment containers so that was very convenient. There's plenty of parking because it's in a large plaza shared by other businesses and Shoprite

The teriyaki here is delicious and eve portions are nice. You can get chicken, tofu, shirt or beef for $5.59 a $6.59 or combo them up to about $10.50, so not a bad deal. Great smoothies and you can mix the flavors. The place is really inviting with big windows in the front, so when you're sitting down the place is well lit without a lot of artificial light during the day. There's stool seating right near the window, a long bench along the right wall under some nice ethnic set work, and small tables that seat 4 scattered throughout the place. As soon as you walk in you can see fresh sushi being made and then the grill is right behind that to the right of the register. The one thing that I have always loved about this place is that you get to see your food, and everyone else's being prepared. For a place that doesn't wait tables, the tables are always clean the staff is really nice. As far as the food goes, the taste is spot on and filling. All the dishes come with rice or noodles and a side of veggies if you'd like, so it's very well balanced. It is teriyaki and sushi, a really simple menu, so if you're looking for more, you gotta go elsewhere. I love it, it's worth it and the smoothies are very good as well.

    They deliver!
    Lauren S.

This place deserves 10 stars for their super fast delivery. We ordered online from Grub Hub, and it told us to expect an hour wait. Our door bell rang just 20 minutes later! Is this an independent sushi restaurant, or Jimmy Johns? My roommates wanted to go out for sushi, but I had the flu, and they didn't want to leave me, so they looked up sushi places that deliver. We had never heard of this place, and the fact that they had bubble tea sealed the deal. Being sick, I obviously had no desire for sushi, but bubble tea? Yes please. The best part of the bubble tea is that they let you mix flavors, which is always a plus. I got coconut-mango with tapioca pearls, and it was one of the best bubble teas I've ever had (almost as good as The Tea Garden in St. Paul, MN). Not too sweet, but exploding with flavor. The tapioca pearls were the perfect texture, too. I'd order from here again just for the tea. (Note that all their bubble teas use dairy.)

    EMT Roll
    Camille N.

I literally live right by this place so when I do go is quick and easy. The food here is nothing special really. I usually grab a bite here when theres nothing in the house mainly or I don't feel like cooking. I have to say the EMT rolls from here are actually pretty good , they are just very pricey so I don't get them very often. Other than the rolls I come here for chicken teriyaki or shrimp teriyaki which is decent just like the rest of sakura japan's i've been to in new jersey. The place is is always clean and organized so that's a plus and they're quick with the orders. I have this place 3 stars because of the food , which I think is decent to me.

As I got there I could see that the restaurant was full and lively. The hostess was friendly and communicated our wait well. It did look like that they were struggling a bit with tables staying longer than they expected which caused a few reservations to be backed up while we were the walkins. I do recommend getting reservations here. I/we ordered a ramen, the cola wings, and the detroit style pizza. They were nice enough to separate the single serving of ramen into two bowls which was really nice of them. The Ramen was good but a bit salty. The cola wings were alright I wouldn't say they were the best I ever had. As for the pizza it was good, however when comparing with similar offerings in the area, Buckys in Chatam, NJ is superior for Detroit style. While, the this particular place did not meet MY standards I would still recommend as a nice date spot!
