This place is horrible. The restaurant had no heat so we got our food to go it still took about 45 mins of waiting and Of the 6 items we ordered, 5 of them was wrong when we got home 30 mins. Called them and they told us we can drive back in and they would verify we were given the wrong stuff and replace it. If you want punished for their incompetence go eat here and they'll charge you and refuse to refund. Will never go back here I encourage everyone else to do the same. read more

When they opened, food was great. Finally some sushi in Shippensburg you want to eat. Over time, quality has declined and so have the portions. I've never spit out sushi until our last order. The spicy yellowtail tasted awful and like it was being covered up by yellow mustard. The food we did eat was underwhelming. Rainbow roll looked half fresh half left on a counter for an hour. Spider roll had almost no taste. Chicken hibachi was just...meh. Pork gyoza was ok. Save yourself the disappointment and travel to Chambersburg for Japanese/sushi. It's worth the gas. read more

My husband and I were in town for a camp meeting. Hungry we tried a few hill places. We go to WV a lot and eat at a Sakura there all the time. I saw that they had lunch Hibachi here as well. We ordered the same which is Hibachi chicken and steak. It was honestly so flavorful and the rice was just perfect. The veggies were cooked just right as well. The lunch option was plenty. The difference was the flavor of the food was better to both of us the only thing was, we would have liked the Hibachi cooked in front of us. That is my favorite part. This was a very small intimate setting, waitress was nice, very casually dressed which took away from the intimate, cozy setting. All in all we will be back next year on our visit. read more

I was pleasantly surprised on the quality and freshness of the salmon and spicy salmon sushi. I also tried the hibachi chicken and while the chicken was just a tad overdone and dry, the sauce was good and the yum yum sauce tasted good too. I was in Shippensburg because I was going to attend a wedding nearby. This town is just large enough to have many of the chains represented, yet small enough to have the small town feel. It is great to see a family owned restaurant and a very enthusiastic cashier. If I am ever in this area as again, I would definitely stop here again. read more

Had two rolls and beef hibachi. The rolls were not too bad. The shrimp tempura roll was acceptable as was the spicy tuna. Not sure about the whole 'crunch' thing though. The steak was tender, the veggies nice and the fried rice okay. Sakura is not bad. It is not terrible. The people are super nice, the food is all acceptable and does not offend. That's the thing. My dining experience here was interesting. Came in on a Thursday night for dinner. The place was empty but the music was pumping like a thousand people had reservations for a dance party! Ordered a couple of sushi rolls and chicken teriyaki. Everything was ok. Not going to blow you away but far from terrible. My server was nice but a little pushy with trying to get me to order appetizers. I sat at the sushi bar, crushed my food and left. Decent place for dinner. This is the worst sushi I've ever had, worse than supermarket sushi. Didn't taste like anything - fish had no flavor, the sushi rice was not seasoned properly, the seaweed wrappers were soggy and flavorless. I feel bad for anyone who thinks this is good sushi. Typically I like this place. I ordered ONE bubble tea, I've been standing here for over the twenty mins they told me it would take but then a dude comes in for pick up. He ordered two AND food. Where's my TEA. The response from the owners is bullshit. I stood there and had to ask for me tea AFTER the guy showed up. I walked in and was told it would take 15-20 mins to make the tea. Which by the way, was probably sitting there while I stood in the waiting area to receive my tea AFTER the guy who called in walked into the store to pick up his food. Which by the way if you were done with his order before he picked it up, you hand the next person their order if they're standing right in front of you. Sakura's has never let us down. Their food has always been great, if I had complaints it's that I always want more of it. On top of that the customer service makes it clear they care about their patrons. When the pandemic hit and they re-opened they shifted really conveniently to carry out and provided hand sanitizer and masks for guests at no additional costs at a time when other establishments were not. Hibachi is my favorite and it's as good here as it has been anywhere. My girlfriend orders sushi two or three times a month and loves it. So happy to have them in our town. read more

First off, we've been here three times already. Each time before was "meh, maybe not again ‍" . We decided that running to Chambersburg was just out of the question for the day, but really wanted some sush! So we did it..we went back and the fourth time was the charm! Under new management and the sushi chef was super excited about their new menu. He said "Mixing Chinese and Japanese dishes doesn't work" and their going to be start to feature Poke Bowls next weekend! We got the Paradise Roll, Salmon Sushi, Naruto Roll, Chicken Hibachi and the the Beef Udon Soup. Every single thing was great! The only thing that holds them back from getting our 5th star is the ambience. The chef was nice to talk to but it was awkwardly quite with the same old Muzak and plain walls. Food was quite good. Large portion; I had to get a box.
