Sakura Japanese Sushi & Grill in Tallahassee, FL Went for the cooked-style creative sushi, and both rolls hit it right! The Godzilla Roll had a solid balance of texture: salmon, whitefish, and rice all played well together. Not too heavy, just right. The Crispy Rice Roll with spicy tuna was a winner for me. Light, crunchy, with that sweet spicy kick. Mmmm! Satisfying. Loved the contrast in texture and flavor. Quick seating, our waiter was friendly, and overall, the spot has a cute feel. Would totally come back.

usually love this place but i waited 45 minutes for my door dash order just to have the restaurant cancel it and not give me any reason so disappointed (and starving!)

Given all the hustle and bustle of my life, I got some good news, wanted to celebrate, but by the time the celebrating came around, I was just knackered and only chose to go out if dinner was nearby. Enter Sakura Sushi & Grill. Have passed by here dozens of times and had never gone in. Finally went and it was nothing major. Plenty of food options but nothing stands out in either a positive or negative way. Apparently this restaurant serves hibachi on top of sushi. Mind you, the hibachi is cooked in the back, so it's not cooked in front of you like I'm normally accustomed to. That said, the plates are huge (at least to me; your mileage may vary) and they have many specials. The hibachi meals come with salad, soup, and obviously your choice of rice and vegetables with whatever you order as a meat. My companion got a rib special and it was tasty per his words, but I think the portion was small for him. As for me, I had the shrimp and lobster and all I kept thinking was I wish they had cut up the lobster more. It's possible I'm just too used to the show aspect of hibachi. This wasn't a bad choice to celebrate by any stretch of the imagination, it was just missing the "it factor." Again, I think I'm just spoiled, so take that as you will and try the place yourself.

I always make my way over to Sakura after a long weekend or a busy night out. The service is always phenomenal and they greet you as soon as you come in every single time, as well as your server always greets you pretty quickly after you sit down. My favorite server in particular is Stryder. To be quite honest I don't really adventure too much from what I typically get which if I remember correctly is called the Rock N Roll sushi, and I always get the spicy garlic edamame as an appetizer. This time I got gyoza pork dumplings and they were made really well and came out in a speedy manner. The ambience itself is nice, it is pretty quiet so it can be a peaceful dinner setting. Furthermore, there are sushi chefs in the background making the sushi in live action so that's always nice to see. The prices are affordable but not too affordable to where you question the sushi. Overall, i've been to Sakura a handful of times and look forward to going once again!

I love sushi! I asked so many people for the best and fresh sushi around Tallahassee and every single person said Sakura. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Our server was amazing and hilarious! We loved her! We didn't have 1 bad item. Everything was absolutely delicious! Next time I am in Tally I will for sure be back!!!

The April special roll island something. 10/10

Shockingly surprised how good this role is!!!! It's refreshing but has the crunchy shrimp and fresh tuna. I usually go for more fish heavy rolls but I totally recommend this one. It was the special for April I think called the island something. This place is creative with high quality ingredients. We also had the bao bun appetizer which was great. Our server was awesome!

Had a nice enjoyable lunch at Sakaru with my daughter. This is my second visit to this restaurant; had lunch here with some co-workers years ago. Roomy indoor seating; nice ambiance; great customer service. The food was so fresh! We had edamame, California rolls, and sweet potato rolls for our appetizers. My daughter ordered the steak bento box; I had the teriyaki salmon. These very affordable "lunch boxes" come with miso soup and salad (great deal). Will plan to visit again!

    Beautiful interior.

Really glad we took the advice from a woman at a store. We are just passing through and wanted a nice sit down sushi. This where you want to go for a great selection of rolls as well as some hibachi-style dinners. The parking is clear and open. The restaurant is well decorated and has TVs in all the right places. There's a full bar, which is nice. We were seated right away, but I think you can seat yourself as well. We came in around 5:30 on a Sunday, and it quickly got busy right after 6 pm! We ordered a lot of food. Based on some reviews I read, we ordered everything at once so we didn't have to wait too long. Jenny, our server, brought everything out right in time--appetizers first, then our meals. The soups weren't mouth-searing hot, so we enjoyed them immediately! Everything was prepared really well & tasted perfect. Docked the 1 star because our table wasn't actually set for us, and we had to keep asking for utensils and plates and napkins.

I put my name down on the list and had to wait for about 45 minutes for my group of 3 to get seated. Going down the list of dishes I tried here: - Miso Soup: Super salty. We requested hot water from the waitress to help dilute the soup. She apologized, brought the water, but also an additional soup and salad which was nice. - Crunchy2 in 1 Role: Crunchy and alright. - Salmon Roll: Standard, nothing special. - Vegetable Tempura: Standard. The sweet potato could've been softer. - Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box: A good amount of variety, but standard and nothing special. The interior décor was pretty nice. Service was good. Lots of ample free parking in front.

It quickly filled up as it was a Thursday night. Service was very good and the waitress was sweet. Ordered a seaweed salad for starters. Nice size bowl, tasty and a little on the spicy side. We ordered several rolls. For each specialty roll you receive a classic roll for free. Good marketing concept. The rolls were good but not great. Also for $3.25 you can add soup and salad. Soup came luke warm and we mentioned it to the waitress and she quickly offered to get us a hot fresh bowl. Hard to find a good sushi restaurant. Would return if I was in the area.
