Stopped to grab some Pho when headed home from a cruise. Location was easy to find - clean - welcoming. Service was friendly and quick. The broth was so good. The peanut sauce was a little spicy - which wasn't bad, just unexpected.

We recently tried the Midtown Noodles & Grill restaurant on a Friday evening. The restaurant seats about 35 customers and serves meals via counter service style. Even at 7:30 pm, the restaurant is bustling between diners already enjoying their meals, those ordering and those picking up to go orders. The other businesses in this strip center were closed at this hour, so there was ample parking. The counter staff were pleasant and efficient. We ordered the Gyoza steamed dumpling appetizer, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Chicken Pad-Thai. They gave us a light up disk and when it illuminates, your order is ready to be retrieved. It probably took about 12-15 minutes for our order, and it was packaged in black containers with clear plastic lids. They know us well, because we almost never finish a meal and need a to go container anyway. The Gyoza are served with a teriyaki/soy dipping sauce and the Shrimp Fried Rice is served with a side of Yum Yum sauce. The portion sizes were appropriate for the price. The food was hot, delicious and seasoned well. The Shrimp Fried Rice had generous sized shrimp that were plentiful throughout the entree not just carefully placed on top. We will return. There are plenty of things for us to try on the menu!

    Fried rice with chicken.

Food was great. The food takes a few minutes to come out. It is well worth the wait. Hot and fresh! The restaurant is clean and well kept.

What I found was Sara(h). While I waited, we got to talking, and somewhere between the small talk and the wait, we bonded over the Penang braised beef, which, as it turns out, is a favorite for both of us. We agreed on the bigger truth too: Asian cuisine simply never fails you. Funny how a shared plate and a good conversation can turn a rough week around. Sara(h), thank you. You took an ordinary order and made it the highlight of my week, and trust me, I needed that. The food was unforgettable, but you were the best part of the whole thing. At this point, the beef is just a bonus. You were an absolute delight. Until next order.

You could barely move the chairs because they were so stuck to the sticky floor. The drinks: Hot sake can't be messed up, and the same should be said for a mule, but it was the worst we've ever had. How do you mess up a mule? Especially one that has the restaurant's name on it. The food: Some said it was pretty good; others said their broccoli was raw with melted butter on top. Our server was sweet. The guy who sat us needs to find a job that isn't in customer service. We'll be steering clear of this place from here on out.

Babies crying, people jumbled everywhere, and a buffet setup that was super packed together near everything else. The good: host sat me quickly and my server was polite and super quick. I guess they got this down to a science? The bad: everything else. How the heck are these reviews high? This place was packed but I felt like if I coughed, it would be all over my neighbor and the food. It was a cluster f. I did the buffet. While they had a lot of options, it was jam packed together. And you bumped into people trying to squeeze through some areas. The sushi was mediocre. The sweet and sour chicken was off. The fried rice wasn't warm. Even my tap water tasted funny. I couldn't finish my hot sake because it tasted off. The wasabi and ginger even looked funky (I will say the wasabi had a nice kick). Best part of my meal was leaving. The miso soup was the only decent part. I should have learned my lesson from previous Asian fusion places but I guess I trusted the reviews on this one. It's clear to me; a lot of people don't have an educated palate.

Although no one was at the front when I first arrived, the owner quickly came out, seated me, and checked in throughout my meal to make sure everything was going well. His hospitality set a great tone for the visit. My server, Romeo, was outstanding--friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. He took the time to explain how hot pot works, helped set up my table, and offered excellent broth and food recommendations. The broth temperature was perfect, and everything cooked just right. The restaurant itself felt a bit dated, but the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Even though it was quiet and I was dining alone, the attentive service and conversation made the experience enjoyable. While the location is somewhat hidden in a storefront area, this spot has strong potential and could be a big hit in a college town like Tallahassee with FSU, TCC, and FAMU nearby. Overall, it was well worth the visit, and I would definitely recommend Volcano Hot Pot.
